In this episode the G body gets Flaked-Out with some super chunky flake, sanded out, and the lowrider pattern design taped out. Ready for candy! Monte Carlo Metal Flake and Lowrider Patterns!
I love the fact that you involve your babies. My father raised me in the auto restoration business and specialized in upholstery since I was 9. Some things you cant learn in school. Respect.
Not just the imagination to come up with the patterns but also to think 5 steps ahead as far what color goes where. All the back masking n switching colors. Bravo sir. Mine would look like the lid blew off a paint shaker. 🎨 Thank you for taking the time to show us this process. Subbed.
Thanks David! I was actually working on the Monte Carlo today. SO CLOSE to wrapping up this paintjob with its final colour. Video coming soon, the light at the end of the tunnel is in view 😎

That's awesome bro! Your tape lines are perfectly straight! Before I was a Ford technician I owned a paint company for years. Got like 20 something years under my belt with houses and cabinets. Stuff like that but never painted a car. I love that horn! Lol I want one for the elco!
Thanks man! Hahaha I got that horn when I was pulling a fender off a parts car. He didnt know what it was so we jumped it off my battery. I told him "Ill give you full asking price for the fender but you gotta give me that horn." 🤣
This tight bro maybe next time when transferring your patterns to the other side use transfer paper put the sticky side up when mapping out your patterns with a pen then just flip it over and stick it and cut and tape as you go 💯💯💯💯💯
@@johnnyblaze5448 Using a black base shows your coverage of flake better as well as makes the flake look more "chunky" and "3D". Flake over black always looks better than flake over silver in my opinion. Ive done it both ways, depending on the job. But full flake coverage over black is by far the best look 😎👌🏻 I show an example on camera in one of the monte carlo paintjob episodes
my opinion is that would be a whole lot easier and a better move than flaking just certain areas like I did with this car. Full vehicle flake would have been SO much easier.
Thanks man! honestly most of the tape i used on this car is cheap chinese amazon tape. Performed very well actually! 😂 Ive got some FBS, its alright but I like the cheapo chinese stuff better for some reason
Yyyyyyyyep. took it to a local trans shop. Super honest guy. He replaced 2 seals and the speedometer cable aluminum housing. $180CAN!! He honestly could have charged me double that and I wouldnt have known any different lol

I just wasted a roll of tape on a chair before I finished it I thought I done something. I’m going to pick up a hood this weekend
keep practicing!
Can’t wait to see it painted
ITS DONE! Check my latest videos
Since it’s names genie. Should try to implement a robin williams genie mural in it haha 👌🏻
Little pinstripe genie in the trunk would be awesome, with the name beside it in turned leaf
maybe one day. its done for this year at least. Im cruisin it!
I heard you can use transfer paper and a pencil and flip it over and trace it
Very inspirating.
Im starting at shaping surfboards and i would like to reproduce these kinds of pattern on boards.
Cheers from france
Yes! Glad you found some value in my work my friend. Get a surfboard and start making it a piece of art!
What is the advantage of using black base compared to silver? best regards

Where can I purchase some teal green flakes like that?
I have a local BC hookup Em&Kat Glitter factory. they have every kind of flake you can imagine
You can use kustom kolors, rat fink sells flake as well
Nice
yeeeeeeee
What's your opinion on flaking an entire truck silver and doing only color graphics on sides?
