Im still loving my 2021 manual. The whole point of it for me is almost zero maintenance and no break downs from belts. Just basic fluid changes and this thing is bulletproof.
These things do great on the trails. Really surprised me how they do. And by far the best sounding SXS out right now. Probably because it’s a street bike engine, basically.
I love my YXZ very reliable machine and does what I need plenty fast enough for me and if u turbo them they blow canams and Polaris away if you don't like them don't buy them but I guarantee u it will last longer than the other brands
1:04 Not exactly correct. YXZ with clutch pedal had a sequential up/down shift lever on console. Part of what made it fun in the beginning was "bangin' through gears".
Nice, just just a couple things: The fuel tank capacity is actually 9 gallons or 34 liters and the GYTR seat belt harness is also nice, but an upgraded accessory and does not come stock on an trim. Looking forward to your next rock crawling video with the YXZ 1000R Stephen!
Still love my 2016, Reliability is it's middle name. Only needed a battery and tore a sidewall on the stock tires the first year of ownership. Dunes and desert it's an absolute blast. If you don't use it as a plane or a submarine it will last for decades. But the comments are right, it's time Yamaha, the suspension is way behind. Time for a complete overhaul. Maybe YXZ 1000RR with around 200HP!
paddle shifters not needed to be attached to steering wheel, if your steering wheel is turned beyond reaching the paddle, you shouldn't be shifting. If it was a standard tranny, would you be shifting in a turn that tight? Nope. I luv Yamaha products... thx for the video.
They nailed it. There is no need for a low range as long as you have a deep 1st. Comparing to my Hondas, the only purpose for low range is to have one lower gear.
@@zacharymorris9917 what I meant was that the 2024 model - according to many who have commented on this page is an old, obsolete machine and Yamaha should take an entirely different direction. I don't think so, that's why I bought a new 2024 YXZ mostly because of the new 6 speed gear box and because of the other incremental improvements Yamaha made to the machine over the years. I did not buy an earlier model because it had a somewhat poor low speed crawling ability and they came only in manual trannys. My left knee is shot and I hate CVTs. My point is that the base design of the original YXZ is good enough that all it needs are occasional improvements while keeping the original concept intact. It would be nice to have an optional D mode control like the Wolverine and Rmax, and they may be working that now.
I can NOT thank you enough for this video. I’ve been scouring the manual, the forums and videos to try and find out if those two connectors in the console were spare power. Two questions: 1. do you know if those are keyed power? 2. do you know the name of the connectors that I need to fit in those? THANK YOU!!!
I’m a Yamaha fan, I have an rzr xp turbo had zero issues out of buggy, but what Yamaha needs to do is put a turbo model out factory and make it a trailing arm frame like koh buggy is sell a standard width and a wider width I’d buy one then frl where I’m at it’s need a bit more travel and more high clearance parts
They need to make it will a real cage. That’s not hard to do. Also they need to make service ports for easier service on the transmission. I love my 2019. Just needs some tweaks to make them even better.
Yamaha and Kawasaki need to make a true sport sxs. The Kawi chassis is fine. It just needs 100+ more hp. Yamaha needs to build a rear trailing arm design with 100+ more hp.
This guys opinion came into question when he said he would prefer shift paddles mounted to the wheels. WRONG! Right side always shifts up left always down. Imagine being in a high speed turn and guessing which paddle to hit to shift because they roll with the wheel? Lmao nah man Yamaha made them tall so you have a big area to slap when it’s time to shift, regardless of hand position
Yamaha really needs to stop sleeping on the sport segment. They seriously need to come out with a whole new machine that can compete with the mav r and the pro r. This platform is just so outdated it's crazy.
Where Yamaha (and other Japanese makes) outshines the north american brands is in its dependability. Not having to fix something after or during every ride makes a huge difference not to mention saving downtime and money!
Nothing is more fun to drive than the YXZ. But you have to be a YXZ owner to know what I'm talking about. Nothing gives you more smiles per mile and gives you that connected experience.
I just don't like the idea of a standard transmission for aggressive off roaders like SxS. Just one more thing to worry about staying in the torque curve up rocky slopes and whatnot. I think off roaders like this are where CVTs shine.
I love my standard transmission, I go everywhere that my friends in rzr and x3's go and I have so much more control. I can launch at 10k rpm's because I have a clutch, I can dump the clutch in a turn to slide the rear around, if i'm climbing I can stab the clutch to get my rpm's back up, I can engine brake, I can press the clutch to coast, my engine and driveline are always spinning together so I can let off the throttle and not get pulled backwards like a rubber band car. The only advantage the rubber bands have is uphill and downhill but a lot of that depends on the sequential driver and the only reason I gave cvt the win is because uphill and downhill is annoying in a standard. The trails don't have as much shifting.

Imperial gallons to US gallons. 7.5 IG = 9 US gallons. Who knew? But then again it's not the 1970's anymore.

I believe the YXZ is rated at 112 hp , not 101.
Fuel capacity says 9 gallons on Yamaha's page
101hp? What happened? When this first came out it had 114 or something.
Probably emission changes, which can be dealt with.
If they would make one of these but for highway focus would be so nice ...Like the slingshot but with 4 wheels etc...

Comparing to my Hondas, the only purpose for low range is to have one lower gear.
The 10,500 RPM rev limit makes up for a low range not to mention gives a lot of power range selection in every other gear.
@@dannonebr no it doesn't. I have no clue where you came up with that idea, but it's in direct opposition to reality.

Very well thought out machine! maybe one day I can afford one.
The look is so bada$$!!
Your history is off. It first launched with the stick only, it didn't have paddle shifters until 2017. 2024 is the first year for an automatic option.
Not exactly a stick shift, it was a sequential.
do they still offer the Stick or is it paddle only now ?

This has a trailing arm. The shock just deosnt sit on it
The krx has tons of power. Not everyone has a lil pp and needs a 300hp golfcart.

Please put this transmission in the Rmax
No
I wish it was in the Wildcat XX
Great video!
This is good news but it would have made more sense if we would have just added a damn low range like every other machine on the market
Talons and yxz need to come out with a turbo version, they are both behind the times, both are very reliable though!!
Definitely my next ride. With an added turbo
I just bought a 2024 YXZ1000R and it did not come with a harness? It has a seat belt ?
Remember when off-road toys were accessible for the masses? Pepperidge farm remembers

I agree way overdue, this machine is not competitive anymore. Suspension is way behind, zero storage.
They won't they're just like Honda in alot of ways. The suspension is far behind competitors

Never this cage has improved 😂
The seats still are crap I think and the Suspension did not improve at all.
Bro put some man shoes on
I like the drive train of the yxz, always have, but the ugly styling has kept me from buying one.
If this rig had a low range, I would have bought one (manual) over my RZR.
Looks the same as it did in 2016 - never liked them - would think YXZ could make a good side bye side - something that’s a contender -
I prefer the sleek look to the pug-nosed competitors.
100 hp is a joke. And I doubt even the new gearing makes up for no low range. It’s like Yamaha don’t want peoples money.

22 freaking thousand dollars?! HAHAHAHA. No thanks.
That's what it's competition costs too. Turns out shits expensive.
