- The LEGO Technic Audi Rs Q e-tron 42160 is a phenomenal set. It contains three large control plus motors, some brand new wheel hubs, and so much more! Is it the best lego technic control plus set? But most importantly, can it off road?

I actually have RCs for speed, I got them to 45 mph and I can tell you crashing it at 45 I'll shatter in pieces, now 100 mph you won't find the parts!

I am very happy to see non-planetary hubs with the new stronger CV joints! Planetary hubs are cool, but impractical for smaller sets.

As a leftie I think it should be a setting on where you want the controls. I for one would like the steering on the left but that’s bc of my bias. I would like them to have accurate distance for a trip or some type of way to see how far you actually drove

I’m definitely buying 4 of these bad boys. So many useful parts, a full rc kit, 3 motors, new tires, and everything you need to build an RC. All with the new control+ system. This finally makes PF obsolete. I can’t wait to redo all of my RC cars with the control+ system. This is hands down the best kit of 2023, and the best kit since the motorized excavator. Better than the 9398, and I’m going to use two of them and 8 motors to motorized one of my 8466(I own two and I finally have a reason to open the second one. It’s BNIB. Cost me a fortune)

Wouldn’t the stickers get damaged if you use it in water?
I just noticed. You placed two of the front panels on the wrong side/backwards. The stickers don’t line up and the headlights are closer to the windshield instead of where they should be near the grill. Just letting you know.

Lol, I was assembling the kit today and thought I was doing something wrong - turns out I wasn't, and it was because of this video. It looks pretty good the wrong way around - only the stickers don't line up (but do they ever really do...?) - it is a great model, only you have to use good batteries - on rechargeable it's a bit under powered.
I checked the instructions real quick lol

I honestly wish that the two driving L-motors were used in unison connected via gears(preferably the 12 and 20 tooth) and placed in the undercarriage, as it would not only improve stability, but increase power distribution and speed.

Moments like this are where I miss stackable cables. It seems like a waste to use an extra drive port where a set of lights or something could be installed instead.

This is really an awesome set and parts kit. Please make more videos about this set and modifying this set. For example locking the diffs so wheels do not spin freely when in the air.

OMG such a great model! I just bought Ford GT and still didn't assmble it. Next month gonna buy this Audi!! I wish it was a bit faster in a straight line but still it's such a great RC car ^^
In a youtube comment I simply can’t explain how happy I am how this set turned out. Thanks Lego! It looks super much like the real thing, has (for a lego set) VERY good off-roading capabilities, as you said excellent suspension, very sturdy chassis, and then it’s an Audi! (my fav car brand after Porsche) And don’t get me started about the price, compare this to the 488 GTE, like what is lego doing with the prices? This is so much better! Great video as well of course! almost forgot it xD
I wouldn’t say it has “VERY good” off reading capabilities. The zetros is the only set that actually had “VERY good” off reading capabilities
well true but if you compare it to other technic sets (not the zetros)…….
I am left handed and even I would like the steering control on the right because its more natural to me. Usually steering is on the right anyway (mouse, game station controller).

how do you turn it off? The green button is to turn it on and I couldn't turn it off by pressing the green button 😢
Any suggestions if the control+ hub won’t turn on at all? Have checked the batteries…
I picked mine up for 99 pounds brand new, bit disappointed with the speed, I'll likely buwizz it for more speed and better control.
Are there aftermarket shock upgrades?
I think this set has a lot of potential. Firstly, the price. The app-controlled transformation vehicle costs $140 and had only one less motor and 200 pieces less. I feel like this set is not worth it. Second, I feel that the 42140 of last year was a much more fun control+ set since it had that amazing flip function.

I just got this and I’m stuck with step 9 for the motor stack mount I’ve built the chassis to the other step where they are to go together the picture is pretty useless

Looks good. Not sure if it's because I'm left handed or that all car racing video games have the steering in the left, but that's how I prefer it.

@@Unbrickme I just checked to see what old RC cars like the Nikko Hilux I had as a kid in the 80s, and it steered on the right and acceleration forward and reverse on the left of the control unit. So it is made for the comfort of the majority who would be right handed.

btw i want to know i never ever bought a C+ technic set and i am considering between this or the huracan tecnica and heres the question does the motors last longer like does it last maybe 7 years with new batteries everytime its out of power or does it break easily like life span of 1 year?
C+ Large and Xl motors have been around since 2019. In those four years, they’ve never broken for me and I don’t expect they will. I think that they’re gonna last for a long time. Some of my power functions motors have been with me for well over a decade. I don’t think you should worry about that. Between this or the huracán, you should absolutely get the Audi! It’s so much fun to play with, where as the huracán is just a small display set

LEGO has finally made awesome looking tires rather than just using the truck wheels like on the Technic Ford Mustang pullback set or especially the pullback Porsche. I will be using these new tires to build a LEGO Technic RC Ford Bronco.

You put the hood on wrong. I was disappointed in how slow it was. I can't do any light climbs at all. Idk how its crossing rocks in this video mine will get stuck on a sock.

Stickers on the hub. Motor doesn’t have any stickers

I'll stick to my 42122 MOC with the Mouldking hub. Way better than the Lego hub for RC cars.

@Unbrickme It can be the best control in the world. The point is that Lego is a great physical toy, and it should get the kids away from the phone and console.
Also, my kids don't even have a phone yet.
@galizakeithd.2579 Well... I think this is a valid point if it would be like a Mindstorms or Boost set. But an RC car? That's meant to be fun for driving around and not for programming.

Most likely. At most 1.5 years
The only thing I dislike about the hub is the fact that they supply so little power for the sake of battery life

1. I will get it a little bit sooner than it's released
2. I live in Serbia so Lego doesn't ship here nor have a normal lego Store.

@@Unbrickme yes, its just with the way lego's own electronics are going, we may aswell just buy hobby grade stuff, infact its actually cheaper and far more interchange able, its just a hassle to get things that work together

Im left handed well i dont have any problem with steering on right hand so why right handed are complaining about left hand steering and i use right handed scissors on my left hand so i have no complain about the controls of this set
Swappable controls should be standard since it’s so easy to do with software
bcz right handed people are more accustomed to right hand controls rather than left handed controls
