What ice cream flavour should I try next? Give me all your ideas, normal or bizarre! If you liked this, you might like to check out some more of my individual gadget videos here: th-cam.com/play/PLfItiEY3o1msZB4DJXPXdg2qKBsG3nGav.html
I've had cinnamon ice cream before, it's really good! Also sesame works surprisingly well. If you want to see some unholy ice creams look up 'Ice Cream City' in Tokyo (it's in Namjatown in Ikebukuro), amongst the normal stuff they had various meat and seafood flavoured ice creams on sale when i went there (i chickened out of trying oyster or beef tongue ice cream i must admit)
A Mrs B cut out would be hilarious, especially if it was just used in videos until Mrs B notices, swap it out one day and then suddenly a couple of hacks videos later.... AHHH! 😂
As much as I think a Mrs Barry cardboard cut out would be brilliant, I must say Barry does some dumb stuff when the real Mrs Barry is right there so I'm not sure it would be much of a deterrent! 😁
The issues with the first one were user error! The recipe called for grated chocolate, because the machine can't handle choc chips/chunks! Which is why it was jumping around/unlatching. Also just bc you can't taste the lemon juice in the pineapple one, doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't need to be there. It may not be there for flavour, but to help prevent ice crystals from forming, to end up with a nicer texture
On that mint choc chip one where it was kicking the lid up, you probably should have waited to add the chocolate until after it was mostly done, the beater was probably getting caught on them.
Used one of those for my mum. She had cancer but wanted something cool and refreshing. Used it to make slush from watermelons, apples, strawberries, sometimes used lemons and put in a drop of limoncello to keep up her mood.
for a guy who's been cooking for so long, when ya put in the mint extract, I almost fell out my chair, it's as if you'd never ever used an extract before and dumped like half the bottle in there XD Normally it's like a few drops, as it's basically a concentrate of flavoring... so I can definitely see how it could be too minty. :P
I'm with Mrs. B. on that sweet corn one, lol. Also, the reason the mint chip one was jumping around was due to the chocolate chips you put in. That's why it said chocolate shavings.
I've had sweet corn ice cream before from one of my local asian markets back before I moved to the middle of nowhere and it was actually really good! It was basically a vanilla ice cream with a hint of corn flavor with kernels of corn in it, shaped like a corn cob fully encased in a small layer of chocolate and then in a cone-like shell.
B&M this time of the year is full of gadgets and gifts you have no idea you needed! The food themed gifts are always random and I like to find the weirdest one every year
I had to go back & listen to that "Cheapo" sound bite & make sure it really was who I thought it was. I love all the videos you guys do together. I wish Barshens was still a thing 😢
Mmm, love mint-chip ice cream. For valentines day a few years back I made a quick n' dirty Baked Alaska with it. For the ice cream I mixed dark chocolate shreds and mint extract into vanilla ice cream, then shaped it into a dome with a cling-wrap lined metal bowl. For the cake base, I used a brownie mix. For the meringue I made an italian meringue which doesn't require baking to stabilize. Some quick torching later and it's done. It turned out great.
steeping is when you leave the ingredients in the water to infuse the natural flavours slowly. Cheaping is when you swig from the flavour extract bottle 🤣
Barry did you see the sortedfood strange ice cream flavours video recently? I know there's been requests for a collab with them from viewers and honestly you and sorted food are the only 2 cooking channels I've watched for years.
If you can get Mrs. B to give it another chance, fresh or even frozen corn would probably make for a better experience. A place near me makes it with fresh corn and it's like a frozen corn pudding or spoonbread.
the lid popping off is why they said grated chocolate. the chips were too big, and getting stuck between the paddle and the wall of the chamber and popping the lid off.
My Culinary Curiosity plateau'd at Conventional Sandwiches, Burgers and Pizza. Thank you very much for the Inspiration, Barry! Outstanding Work as always👏🏻
You know Mr Barry...if you liked the sweet corn ice-cream you should try the Latin American drink atole. It's masa (basically a corn flour) cinnamon, piloncillo (a type of sugar) and vanilla. It's delicious. Especially when it's cold out!
AH Barry, the way I screamed "WHY DID YOU DO THAT HAHAHA" at you sipping the peppermint extract. Goodness my guy. My dog was like "WHAT WHAT HAPPEND? MUM, MUM!"
A Vincent Price cut out, with him looking menacing. He was a horror film star, and also a Cordon Bleu Chef. He had a cookery show on TV in the 1970's. Ice-cream? How about a good, old fashioned 'Tutti Frutti'? With all the little fruit bits in, of course.
I quite enjoy sweet corn ice cream. One year my uncle brought some odd flavored ice creams for thanksgiving and sweet corn and pumpkin were among them. So good.
So, the ice cream maker is okay according to you? Did the lid click up because you maybe push it down too firmly? Pretty handy gadget for £10, and just the right amount for a one person treat.
Ideas - 1) for corn ice cream, add some cinnamon or other spice you would add to corn muffins 2) for future flavors: plain single hefb (for ex, basil) and/or single herb with chocolate.
Cardboard cut out idea - go through the original cast of Frasier the US sitcom, as a nod to the reboot new series coming up - hope it’ll be good as the old one ! Love the videos !!!
I literally clicked on this just because of the sweetcorn ice cream because that ice cream you can get in Japan is called sweetcorn ice cream and it has chocolate with it and it’s sooo good
The sweet corn one reminds me of all the strange flavours you could have from that Anya Hindmarch ice cream project shop they had a Branston Pickle one a Birds Eye Peas one and a Ribena one , and other strange ones!
Giles & Posner stuff isn't too bad. I've got one of their slow cookers that I bought from QVC years ago and it's brilliant! Barry, how do you fancy giving bread ice cream a go?
Been rewatching all of Barshens, still absolutley hillarious. Would love to see it come back again, although im sure there are many reasons why it can't be :(
I've had a sweet corn dessert made with sago and coconut cream from a Thai restaurant. I don't think the idea is that odd, maybe just to the western palate?
Not an unusual flavour but if you want a delicious ice cream use 1 tin of ready made custard an equal amount of fresh double cream and 1 tin of strawberries including the juice. Delicious.
Somebody in the subdivision behind us has a cow cutout that looks out the window, made me think of you guys. I had an ice cream maker like that but the machine gave out last year.
omgg sweetcorn ice cream! I used to buy it all the time! now the brand doesn't make the tubs of it anymore :( They put like actual kernels of corn in there. Making me feel like getting a ice cream maker which I will definitely use...... yes. Hmm Edit: also reminds me of the corn soup I'd get in Japan vending machines. Had some in summer as well. Came out cold :P

Can we have a Mrs. Barry cardboard cut out? Just so she watches over you so you don't do anything dumb haha
A Mrs B cut out would be hilarious, especially if it was just used in videos until Mrs B notices, swap it out one day and then suddenly a couple of hacks videos later.... AHHH! 😂
I suspect he'd have to do it without telling her and plan to only have it in one video because there's no way she will want that around :D
As much as I think a Mrs Barry cardboard cut out would be brilliant, I must say Barry does some dumb stuff when the real Mrs Barry is right there so I'm not sure it would be much of a deterrent! 😁
That would be hilarious, every time he makes a joke he could look at the cutout. Even beter get one of his mum too
Yea like tasting exract 😅😅😅

That subtle "Cheapo" from Ashens Poundland series at 0:19 is just. 👌

While living in Japan there were a lot of flavors I came to love. Sweet corn desserts (like ice cream!) was one of them. SO delicious!!!!
Here in the PH we have a dessert called "Mais con yelo", which is sweet corn and ice that is added with milk and sugar. Really Good for a hot day!
Mrs. B's face going from intrigued thinking that it's honeycomb to disgusted when she found out it was sweet corn was priceless

Well, I’ve got some great news for you … they’re coming back! It was a stretch goal for Stuart’s next film.
_Somewhere in the world, Tom Scott feels a pang of yeasty PTSD._
*Tom Scott:* "I can STILL. TASTE. MARMITE."
Which tom Scott video is that?

Less than a minute in and we already have an Ashens reference. I love it!
steeping is when you leave the ingredients in the water to infuse the natural flavours slowly.
Cheaping is when you swig from the flavour extract bottle
🤣
Push the sweetcorn through the sieve with the back of a spoon. All of the pulp will go through and leave behind the undigestable tasteless skins.
My Monday evening is complete & thanks Barry n Mrs B 😋👍🤗
We have sweet corn ice cream in the Philippines...also sweet corn AND cheese ice cream. I love them both.
Hi Barry loved watching this. A giant Boston would be my choice! Many thanks.
LOVE ice cream and your videos mate! Perfect combo!
Barry did you see the sortedfood strange ice cream flavours video recently? I know there's been requests for a collab with them from viewers and honestly you and sorted food are the only 2 cooking channels I've watched for years.

There is a garlic festival in Gilroy, CA and I hear they have garlic ice cream there!
Yes, that’s true. It’s not great, but better than you would expect. 😀
My Monday made!! Thank you Barry. 🥰🥳
Cut-out idea: Captain Jean-Luc Picard, because when you're cooking something up, you have to Make It So... :P
Barrys face at the end was priceless
the lid popping off is why they said grated chocolate. the chips were too big, and getting stuck between the paddle and the wall of the chamber and popping the lid off.
Yay more Barry, i think i owned a gadget like this in the past. Great video mate!
My Culinary Curiosity plateau'd at Conventional Sandwiches, Burgers and Pizza. Thank you very much for the Inspiration, Barry! Outstanding Work as always👏🏻
I love the idea of an Ashens cut-out! I think that'd be hilarious!
Your experiments are wonderful thank you
You know Mr Barry...if you liked the sweet corn ice-cream you should try the Latin American drink atole. It's masa (basically a corn flour) cinnamon, piloncillo (a type of sugar) and vanilla. It's delicious. Especially when it's cold out!
Cutout idea: Freddie Mercury only because I want it when you've finished with it 😁🤣🤣
AH Barry, the way I screamed "WHY DID YOU DO THAT HAHAHA" at you sipping the peppermint extract. Goodness my guy. My dog was like "WHAT WHAT HAPPEND? MUM, MUM!"
.... WHY WOULD YOU DRINK MINT EXTRACT?! you madman lol

Mrs. B really is a trooper! 🌟
4:52 That jump Made My day mate😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love watching Barry’s vids, he makes me laugh so much 😂
Awesome video Barry Lewis
A cardboard cutout of your mom with a recording of her laughing 😂 would be epic
The recipes, not too much. Mrs B's reaction to the corn ice cream, Priceless.
So, the ice cream maker is okay according to you? Did the lid click up because you maybe push it down too firmly? Pretty handy gadget for £10, and just the right amount for a one person treat.
No, he locked it the wrong way - it should be locked in the same direction the paddle turns.
Love it. Here on the Isle of Wight the garlic farm does garlic ice cream 🍦 😋
Barry just explaining how a tea bag works. explaining what steeping is
Now I need to know how sweet corn tea would taste.
11:50 Barry in a bit of a "whisk-y" situation here. 🥁
Cream corn Popsicles were popular in Taiwan 30 years ago. I've also tasted green onion ice cream and tomato ice cream in Taiwan.
That look she gave you about the sweetcorn ice.. 😂😂👍 Priceless
Ideas -
1) for corn ice cream, add some cinnamon or other spice you would add to corn muffins
2) for future flavors: plain single hefb (for ex, basil) and/or single herb with chocolate.
Commenting for the algorithm, thanks for the video Barry
I prefer ice cream where you make a custard with egg yolks
PLEASE get a Stuart Ashen cardboard cutout, that would be so amazing
Having Ashens standing there judging is kinda funnny idea not gonna lie xD
Stuart Ashen cutout would be funny.
Sweet corn Ice cream is normal here in Brazil
Sweetcorn ice cream .... Mrs B. She says "NO" !!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
that corn ice cream legit made me gag just seeing it
Can you do an Ashens cardboard cut-out? I think that would be great and I love your videos together.
How about Mr. Blobby 😂
The lemon does need to be there the natural sweetness of thr pineapple would be oberly sweet xx
I'll bet the corn ice-cream would taste better from a fresh cob. Canned corn has this different taste, sorta a metal and salt taste.
Mrs.Barry thinking of her life choices after the corn ice cream…lol
Love your videos. 😊 Just one tip. Don't drink extracts, it can be dangerous due to the concentration. 😉
cardboard cutout idea, the cameraman that got fired up. Get them used to you having a camera man lol
Cardboard cut out idea - go through the original cast of Frasier the US sitcom, as a nod to the reboot new series coming up - hope it’ll be good as the old one ! Love the videos !!!
You need life size shaq. He could be you own personal kitchen sherif. 😂
Barry, as you're a quantity surveyor and have been building a lot over the years. I reckon Bob the Builder has to be the next cut out 😊🙏😁
Alas, Copyright strikes.....
@@roberthindle5146 using Homer Simpson didn't stop him in the past
I literally clicked on this just because of the sweetcorn ice cream because that ice cream you can get in Japan is called sweetcorn ice cream and it has chocolate with it and it’s sooo good
Cinnamon ice cream\custard is amazing.
There’s a corn ice cream from Japan that absolutely delicious. It’s shaped like a corn Cobb - the thin outer waffle shell.
The sweet corn one reminds me of all the strange flavours you could have from that Anya Hindmarch ice cream project shop they had a Branston Pickle one a Birds Eye Peas one and a Ribena one , and other strange ones!
Branston Pickle Icecream LMAO yerk!
Giles & Posner stuff isn't too bad. I've got one of their slow cookers that I bought from QVC years ago and it's brilliant! Barry, how do you fancy giving bread ice cream a go?
Wait what is bread ice cream???
I've never heard of the brand till now actually
Banana with skittles blended then add cup milk and spoon suger ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
sweetcorn ice cream is incredible! Gotta be the super sweet corn though. A larger quantity of custard in it would be better.
Been rewatching all of Barshens, still absolutley hillarious. Would love to see it come back again, although im sure there are many reasons why it can't be :(
The yt space closed down. Then there's the expense of the travel and getting everyone's diaries aligned. It was great while it lasted
Cardboard cutout Gordon Ramsay ftw!!!
Cardboard cut out of a cardboard box, obviously. And I have often seen mint chip in the US without green food coloring.
Im with Mrs B sweetcorn ice cream does sound very different, i would definitely try the pineapple sorbet
Rocky road!! Try and run some big chunks in there
Mrs. Barry’s stomach is bubbling after that crime against nature.
"to the desired consistency"
I mean to me I want my ice cream frozen but I think the paddle might struggle with that one
I’m Hispanic and in my country we make “atol de maiz “ which is basically a hot drink made out of corn.
I've had a sweet corn dessert made with sago and coconut cream from a Thai restaurant. I don't think the idea is that odd, maybe just to the western palate?
Honestly a cardboard cutout of Seal is *chefs kiss* 🤌🤌
Would love to see a Doc Brown cutout!
Dang landed in 20 seconds. Good timing.
Not an unusual flavour but if you want a delicious ice cream use 1 tin of ready made custard an equal amount of fresh double cream and 1 tin of strawberries including the juice.
Delicious.
I picked up a Cuisinart ice cream maker at a local auction a while back for around $10 I think it has a 1.5qt bowl with it.
Somebody in the subdivision behind us has a cow cutout that looks out the window, made me think of you guys. I had an ice cream maker like that but the machine gave out last year.
I think it was on Tasting History that he made a cucumber Ice Cream, always sounded intriguing
Marmite ice cream, a treat for Mrs. B.
Yes Stuart Ashen cardboard cutout please!
omgg sweetcorn ice cream! I used to buy it all the time! now the brand doesn't make the tubs of it anymore :(
They put like actual kernels of corn in there.
Making me feel like getting a ice cream maker which I will definitely use...... yes. Hmm
Edit: also reminds me of the corn soup I'd get in Japan vending machines. Had some in summer as well. Came out cold :P
You made sweet corn milk tea!!
Wonder if it tastes like a Thai roti.. (sweetcorn and condensed milk)
For me, a standup of Warwick or Stuart would be 10/10
