Great video Mike pity you had problem with your bay alarm on your reel I all ways set my drag when casting so it can't snap you off had a reel what kept doing that flipping thing it was going fishing on Saturday at war monument at the wirral fishing 10 : 22 am low water and the 3 : 55 pm hi water after rays cod and any sort of flatfish all the best from Paul from Staffordshire England 🇬🇧 👍 👍
To be honest, I'm glad it's happened, it's give me the incentive to go out and grab some new reels. I'm swaying towards multiplier, but something telling me not too 😅
@@thatsabite I'd stick with normal reel Mike them multiplier reels get into bird nests all the time iv tried to use them my self had a pein one with auto brakes on it and I still got over spin and backlash with it lol 😆 All the best from Paul 🇬🇧 👍
Nice rods 👍 nice to see your channel doing well I've started one well sort of just been posting shorts mainly but it's quite addictive 😀 👍🎣 tight lines
Hope you like the rods cracking rods, had 3 myself, casted them on tournament field to cant fault them, like all century rods amazing, you won't go wrong with them, keep up the good work.
Cheers mate, I'm in love with them, there so light but have pleanty of back bone in them, you can certainly feel the quality! The only issue now, I need a nice set of reels. Time to sell some coarse gear!
Where did you get the new rods from I've been looking for one of these to make a pair . Only seen the new ones with the stainless steel spigot band. Do you mind saying how much they cost also thanks
On the century Facebook page, martin who I was fishing with posted them and within a minute of me spotting them, I'd put a deposit on them. There mint rods buddy, paid £200
Just curious, was the tip light flashing? If so, does it flash when you get a bite? I used to fish Amlwch in the 70s for conger, we always fished on the outer breakwater, we used to park over the hill near what was some sort of refinery. I absolutely loved fishing that location. We also fished Point Lynas quite often. I enjoy watching your videos brings back many memories, I used to live in Towyn back then and fished a lot with a lad called Keith Williams a very good friend unfortunately I lost touch with him many years ago. Thanks for sharing your trips with us. 👍
It's sure was flashing, that's the smart light from rigshark. It's ok when it's flat calm and no wind, they work spot on, the solid colours are the ones 👌 Yes, I've heard about this spot alot, I'm yet to fish it. I need to go and walk it in the day, its called the darleks?
@That's a bite At Point Lynn's we had to park at the gates walk down to the lighthouse and fished of the rocks on the left side, very deep water there and a lot of our tackle. The species were plenty of Ballan Wrasse, large Pollark, Bullhuss, Bass, and the odd Tope. Fishing in front of the lighthouse is quite shallow due to the large slabs of rock and plenty of surf even on calm days, so we tended to fish with the limited lures, which was available at that time, mainly Toby and Redgill. Just a word of warning ⚠️ we always wore a life, preserver due to the odd freak wave, which seemed to come from nowhere, and we travelled light. Anyhow, 50 years is quite a while back. The terrain may have altered somewhat, and as for the fishing today, I couldn't tell you. If you do go, I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience. See you in the next video. 👍
The rods looks nice👍now you need a couple of nice and string reels like the ones jhonnyboy use , shimano beastmasters or penn affinity or surfblasters 💪greetings from holland 🇳🇱 im a big fan of fishing in the uk you guys have some nice fish there . Congers hounds rayss 🤩
Yes, that's next for me! Definitely looking at the surfblasters! I've put the snap down to the bail alarm, problem being when you hit snags and pull, you stretch the spring. They are about 15 years old too!! Thanks for the support buddy, I'll keep the content flowing.
Line the bay alarm up with the rod and that wont happen, if its at 45 degrees pointing forward a jerky cast will cause it to flip over. Was happening to my mate when he switched to fixed spool and he broke all the eye inserts in his rod from it flipping over and pulling the rod into a railing on a powerfull cast with a 100lbs leader that never snapped, never happened since lining up the bay alarm.
I've fished for 25 years, very rarely crack of. Always check the position with the bail etc, I'm paranoid about that type of thing happening. I think it's an actual fault with the bail on that real, I've recently oiled them, so it's probably to sensitive now. Very frustrating 😕
No John boy,, shame i think he thought he was coming with on this one, but i know only to well how it is when its not great for ya, give it time he'll be right, i went up the Dee Estuary the other day on new gear and had a total disaster of a day, defo think i'll wait for it to warm abit b4 next attempt, i hate the winter on a good day its just shit lol
You know the score with John. I did ask him although the reason for his absence on this was thatitt was a very late tide which meant getting home late. Ahh. The Dee, spent many of times down there, it's where I fished sea fished. I grew up in buckley.
