I loved your presentation, Jinne! I make grape juice but I boil then simmer the grapes in a large pot of filtered water with stevia. I strain out the grapes, then water bath can the juice. Then, I puree the grapes and dehydrate them into fruit rolls. Kids like them better than mushy grapes! It usually is just a tray or two so I do it when I have other things dehydrating as well. I do the same thing with my cranberry juice but I use the cranberries just sun dried on salads etc. @Homestead Corner
What is your ratio of substitute
@@conniebrasher4845 I carefully never measure anything when I cook. I shake a little stevia in, stir, then taste. Rinse and repeat. Why? Because I never have the same amount of grapes or cranberries to process. And sometimes, I simply want something sweeter or less sweet. Use your intuition and taste buds. Do what you like. Taste.
I've done grape juice this way for years. It makes the absolute best tasting juice! God bless!
You said it.yumm.and I don't to make it in big jars.no waste
If you have a Aldi's close by they have red grapes $1.39lb. I'm in FL so they might be more or less.
I had recently found a recipe to make your own molasses. It calls for 11 lbs. Which I am picking up my grapes to try. I'm really amazed at the price difference state to state.
I just opened a jar of grape juice this morning, it's so good canned and I raise the grapes too :) Grapes, can take up to 6 years before you get a crop, mine it was 7 years.
Do Concord grapes they aren’t as long dear .3 yrs n you should have grapes we do here in Michigan anyways. Hugs GODBLESS
I grow Concord grapes and do this as well. I could probably can juice for a few years if I tried to make juice out of all the grapes LOL
Ours gave a huge amount of grapes on all of our first year grapes we were so excited and definitely didn't expect turn our the first year. ❤

So cool! Have never seen grape juice made this way. I usually cook and crush and strain, this is so much easier! Thank you so much.

Thank you for showing us how to do this. When I get my SS check next week I’m ordering a pressure canner. ❤️
This was a Sunday treat we’d get thru out the year as a kid. I loved it. We picked our grapes tonight and will continue the tradition of breaking a jar out on random Sundays for my kids.
That looks yummy! I love grape juice but never had it that way before. Here's something else I've learned from you. Thank you and God Bless.
Awesome! I'm going to try this with my black currants.

Just wonderful! I’ve been making your cranberry juice for quite a while now, my goodness, it’s delicious! And I didn’t think I liked cranberry juice! Hannaford still has grapes on sale, so I guess I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow. Thank you so much for this video!!💖
We love the cranberry juice also, my kids won't touch the store stuff now. 😉
Easy peasy! Great video
Thank you for sharing, I gonna try this soon ☺️
So simple. Love this😁
Awesome idea.
Absolutely love this recipe to make grape juice. Where would I find more of your juice recipes? Also, I see several items in your kitchen that I have. I try not to miss one of your videos. Thank you!
Hello from snowy Missouri.
Thank you so much Jinnie! I did some today and it looks just like yours. I absolutely love your channel and keeping us all informed on things we can do to prep for our families 💕
Darn it!! We had so many seedless green super sweet grapes on the vine this summer. I canned grape jelly last year but wasnt up to that for this year. Thank you for showing how easy this was!!! ❤
I’m going to try this once I get over the Rona.
Hope you have a speedy recovery 💕🇺🇸
I want to try this Jinnie 🤗🤗🙏 Kendra
I soak all my fruits in vinegar water. This recipe is awesome with Concord grapes, ours had seeds but it was fine.
Love grape juice. My husband said he saw a lot of canning supplies at Target the other day. I'm trying this. Thank you. My Pap canned everything, he also made homemade wine. He always had dried herbs strung up too. I'm wondering if this can be done with pineapple, I drink alot of pineapple juice and the price has skyrocketed. Thanks again. Have a blessed day🙂👍
Our local Walmart is loaded with jars and lids.
this is fantastic!! can you do any kind fruit in this way? i love it
"Call on the Lord in the day of trouble,
and he will deliver you"
- Psalm 50 : 15
Do you drink it straight from the jar or do you add water? Thank you😊
I have never seen grape juice made this way, mom always cooked down the grapes, ran them through her mill, and then she canned them. This would have made her life much easier as she once spilled a pot of grape juice on the floor, burning herself and permanently staining the linoleum purple. Mom had literally scrubbed the floor on her hands and knees for so many years she scrubbed the shine right off so there was no sealed barrier.
It’s been years since I have made this. But I have a bunch of quart jars I need to do something with so that might be next on my list
Thank you❤ where did you get that rack for your sink? Lol i desperately need that haha
Well I’m doing it right now. Bought my grapes this morning. Gonna give it a go. Hardest part will be waiting a couple of weeks 😂
How'd your juice turn out?
@@102938mom great. Loved it. I wasn’t a fan of the grapes but my wife sure was. She said it reminds her of the grapes in fruit cocktail
@@mtower235 That's awesome! So glad to hear it. I just put up 9 quarts tonight so I'm super excited to see how it goes and wanted to hear from others that have tried it. Thank you for replying
@@102938mom I tried oranges as well with no sugar. They were bitter. I did mandarins with sugar and they were very good.
On the juice I chilled it after the initial opening and drank it when I came in from working
This was a surprise video to me. I would never have guessed making juice could be this easy...lol. This could be done with muscadines as well you think? Thanks as always and Jesus bless.
I believe so, someone comment that they do! 😉
Has anyone tried this with an electric canner/Nesco? Wondering if in my Nesco, I could process them on low pressure instead of waterbath. What the timeframe would be. Love this idea! Thank you!!
All you need for water bath is a pot tall enough that water will be an inch or two above the tops of the jars. The lid is just to keep the waterfrom boiling out.Simple.
I'm currently doing this in my ball electric canner. I would just put it on the waterbath setting. So long as it comes to a boil and holds that boil for the duration of the processing time you should be good.
I HAVE TO try this!! I have a bath canner, but I haven't used it yet, so afraid of poisoning my family. Question, when doing dry ingredients, should you just put the jars in the oven? or should you boil them also, im thinking just the oven?
By the way @Homestead Corner I do admire the funnel that attaches to your jars. Do u have a link for your Amazon store for that for me to use?
They have changed the design so it's all plastic now, but they do have it on Amazon. amzn.to/3Hyi12c
@@HomesteadCorner yeah don't like microplastics in my food
Thank you..
I made grape juice like this years ago. I have a lot of quart jar so I think maybe I’ll make a batch. Also you refer to your cranberry juice recipe can you direct me to where that video is
Bought some grapes. Toughest skinned grapes o ever had. Tasted good but skins were unchewable. Just did first batch last week so in these went for batch number two. Dunno if it’ll help the grapes but the juice looks good color.
I appreciate this knowledge otherwise they’d gone to the hogs I guess
Thank you ….. a great way to start canning ! Kind of puts your toe in the water lol ….. I come from a long line of canners unfortunately no one instructed me…. Now they’ve all passed….. this one looks un intimidating.
❤This
Would you use the same recipe for cranberry juice? Please let us know. Thank you.
Yes, we just adjust the sugar.
Google it
@@HomesteadCorner Thank you!
I have red wine grapes growing in my yard that the original owner planted sometime in the 1950s. I bought the house in 2016. It still blooms quite well up a tall pine tree I have ladders so I can grab at least some of the lower bunches. Im wondering if I can do this with them. I know it wont be sweet grape juice but I wonder if I can make wine from these grapes and can it in jars? Has anyone tried?
Do you think this method can be done with pomegranates? Would be so much less mess and time. Thank you
Bad grapes get cut if half and go to the chickens. They love them
Can you substitute stevia, etc for diabetics, if so what ratio is recommended
Where did you get that canning funnel?
Beautiful job and very easy.
I m interested also in cranberry juice.
Thank you. 🙏👏👍❤️🌟⛄️❄️✝️
You could do this with strawberries too right??
Wonder how it would be if you put in a blender to pulerize the grapes when you get ready to drink?
Oh I bet that would be good!
Hi Jinne 👋
Hi Maria 👋
Any idea on what the shelf life is?
Can I do this with apples, pears, cherries, etc?
I'm sure it would last up to 5 years, but we love this and go through it pretty fast.
I have several jars that have been on the shelf for 7 or 8 years. I opened one for Christmas & it was wonderful!
I hear a doggie drinking from their water bowl ❤❤❤
Does anybody know if you could can watermelon juice?
Do I need to remove the rings? Can I simply keep them on?
Many people leave the rings in, I remove them just in case one comes un sealed, I am sure to notice it.. with the ring on it can reseal and have bacteria in it.
Can you do apple
How do I figure the time for processing if using the 64oz/ half gallon jars? Thank you!!
Maybe this is a silly question....do you have to worry about fermentation?
@@Kfamily203 I don’t think so. First, you’re essentially boiling the fruit in water , killing any yeasts during the canning process. Second, the jars vacuum seal keep them in an oxygen free environment.
Quick question: I’m doing this today with muscadines. I want to use half gallon jars to make the juice. So 2 cups of muscadines and 1/2 cup sugar. What time would you recommend for processing? I was thinking 25-30 minutes.
Sounds delicious 😋 I'd go with 30 minutes.
@@HomesteadCorner thank you! I was waiting for some one to give me the okay. We have a big family and half gallon jars make more sense for us. I’ll let you know how they turn out! My grandmother will have scuppernongs (we call them scupplins’) ready in a few weeks. I plan to do a batch of those as well.
@@SleepyHead76Sounds wonderful. Let us know how they turned out.
What is the shelf life for canned grape juice?
I've been doing this and it's delicious. Wondering if I could make blueberry juice the same way?
You sure can! 💕🇺🇸
@@HomesteadCorner Well then its canning time!! I've been harvesting tons of blueberries! Can't wait to taste it!!
How longwill this last on the shelf?
We've had some 2-3 years and never had an issue.
How long will this last in the pantry?
We have had it 2-3 years with no issues.
Could youDo this with cherries
I can't see why not, we make cranberry juice with the same process. 💕🇺🇸
