Early in 2020 during the annual CES, Withings showed off a new watch called the ScanWatch. Withings packed in an impressive amount of features and sensors into it. While they released it in 2020, the ScanWatch took until November of 2021 to hit the US market. We’re going hands on with this amazing time piece with advanced technology onboard.

So what is the ScanWatch? It is a hybrid smartwatch with the traditional analog watch, while also offering a small digital display. Withings claims the ScanWatch has a clinically validated electrocardiogram, or ECG, that will display results in 30 seconds. The ScanWatch also has a clinically validated SpO2 sensor, otherwise known as blood oxygen. We’re also presented with advanced sleep tracking, activity tracking (such as daily steps and workouts), heart rate and breathing disturbance tracking. And with all of those powerful sensors you can get up to 30 days of battery life.

I bought this beautiful and sensible watch after a lot of analysis and comparison with Apple and Garmin watches. I have been using it as my everyday watch for the past 4 weeks . The activity tracking is Amazing.. The battery is solid . Even with heavy usage . I’m able to make it to 3 weeks . The glass of this watch is Sapphire which is far superior when compared to its competitors. If you are looking for a sensible, good looking watch, just go for it ..

question: what does the bezel at 6:00 fractioned with numbering from 20 to 100 indicate precisely?

    Fantastic review
I've been using the steel HR for years and recently upgraded to the scan watch.
I think withing's focus on "medical grade" tech makes people (rightfully) expect very accurate results.
For me, its a normal analog watch with data tracking that is plenty accurate for monitoring trends. I don't expect it to be as good as (in my opinion) dorky looking smart watches and with that mind set, I'm extremely happy with it's performance.
More of a focus on health than fitness if that makes sense.
Will you be reviewing the body scan scale when it comes out? I wanted to get a withings scale but it feels silly getting one of the existing ones when they have already announced a new model. I guess I'll wait

Thanks for the comment. I am interested in the scale, but haven't decided yet if I want to purchase it when available here.

Excellent video Howie, thank you very much!
Just a quick question, the Series 6 which size it is?
I love Pebble, I still miss this company.

It was the 42mm size. Pebble was awesome and ahead of its time

@@howies-tech thanks Howie! Totally agree with you about Pebble. It was a pity that the Time 2 and the Pebble 2 were never released, I'm sure the first would be my favorite watch until today.

Very cool. You can get a nice PDF from the app to take to a doctor if you ever need, too

At the bottom of the watch face there is a small dial that tells you how you are doing on your step goal. That ranges from 10-100 indicating the percentage for example ~15% of my step goal at that moment. Hope that is what you’re asking
