I was trying to decide between this deck and the Botanical Inspirations deck and this decided it for me. I LOVE the look and feelings I get from these. Thank you so so so much for making this video! It'll be my first deck so I'm excited.
what a gorgeous deck. I don't mind thin card stock because the arthritis in my hands makes shuffling thick stock pretty difficult. I think i would have difficulty reading this one though since I generally don't use the books that come with the decks. I like to look at the cards and read them intuitively...not so sure that would work with this deck.
It is a beautiful deck and they do shuffle really well. I read it more numerologically as it is a pip deck, but I think you can get intuitive hits from it as well. Sometimes I certain color or a position of an element will catch your eye and draw out those intuitive insights. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@DawnMichelleTarot It makes a lot more sense now that you mention it's a pip deck. I've gotten the deck cause it's just so gorgeous but having trouble reading. What would you recommend on studying to help connect with this deck more?
It is really pretty and checks that numerology box we love so much. I don't know if she mentions the plants, I'll have to check the guidebook. I can't wait to read that one. 🙂 Thank you for watching dear! ❤️
Oh my goodness, this is such a gorgeous deck. I actually like how that box is done, even though I would still put it in a wrap probably..lol Thank you for sharing darling, I love this deck. ♥
It is a beautiful box (and deck!) I probably won't keep my cards in it, but it's probably one I'll hang on to since it's so pretty. 🙂 Thank you so much for watching dear! ❤️
Thanks for showing this. I always loved the design but was worried about cardstock and the like, which usually suffers when going into mass market. Still, it's affordable compared to the original indie version so it's good to have choices :)
It is a much more affordable option in the mass market, but I still think I would like to try and get the indie version to compare. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I’ve always wanted this ephemera edition but accidentally purchased the original indie version. I bought it off the UK amazon when it was released overseas. I’m in the states. Yes to the filmsy cardstock. As such I haven’t used it. Please do a card backing video.
I would love to get the indie edition, but after I made the video and went to research I couldn't find it anywhere. I might have to see if I can get it second hand. I didn't know it had already been released overseas, I am so late to the party on this beautiful deck. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Oh my goodness!!! Dani (of Dani Mystic) tipped me off to a version of this deck that was available a couple months ago on Book Depository in the UK - it was a ridiculously low price (I paid $22 Canadian - so I think it was about $15usd) - It looks like it was IDENTICAL except for the box art and book cover art - same flimsy cardstock, full colour book, even the same box size/shape/style/quality! That's crazy. It was called The Modern Tarot Reader. I haven't played with my copy yet, but I'm excited to dig in!
That's what I've been hearing in the comments, how interesting! I wonder why the box and name change between the different releases? Thank you for watching dear! ❤️
@@SpiralMystic I did hear that the cardstock is quite thin on the Modern Readers version as well. Although I don't have it so I can't say for sure. Are you on Facebook in the For Love of Cards group? There is a conversation going on there about the two decks. 🙂
I bought this deck at barnes and noble for $30. Sad about the cardstock..... Deck is so beautiful but I'm worried to even shuffle. Never seen such thin cards!! BUT I love the deck... definitely takes a more solid knowledge of tarot to use this deck
I have been riffle shuffling it, but I admit I do so carefully, I'm afraid I'm going to bend a corner. But with careful shuffling, it is holding up. If it ends up bending on me I will reback it with clear contact paper. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Great unboxing and I just received mine yesterday. I have all 3 oracles but missed out on the indie version(don't think you can get it anymore). The card stock is the most flimsy of any deck I have and that is very disappointing. I will be backing this in hopes that it holds up.I was thinking about getting her lenormand but it is tarot sized and I like my lenormand to be bridge or poker size.
Wow- looks like an interesting deck! I like the idea of the guidebook having a numerology and companion card section. I saw this one on Amazon & was seriously thinking about it...... 🤔😀💚
Oh my gosh, it's so amazing! As a fellow book lover, you would adore the guidebook too! I just adore the imagery of this deck. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I love this deck and the book but completely agree with you about the cardstock. I picked up the Modern tarot reader set and was really bummed that i didn't have the patience to wait for the release of this copy but now i don't feel so bad lol. Thanks so much for sharing :)
I saw this deck advertised before and didn't think it was of interest but after seeing it on cam, I feel it could be useful in my readings. I study *medical* astrology and I also study astro-herbalism and alchemical hebalism. I also read a lot on my ancestors. So I think it's got it all..... body parts/anatomy, plants and dead people, I could see this helping me to find answers in all 3 areas! haha
Thank you for sharing. I have it on my wish list (released 10th Sep in U.K.), but that cardstock is a big turn off. I have one of her editions and they wouldn’t mix together for starters. Ah well, I have time to consider. Blessings x
The season's, I think they have gone with the 4 Cardinal Zodiac signs and the 4 seasons... 🤷🏾♀️ I really like this deck. Sold out now. Which is good. I really don't need another deck. Hahaha!
Generally I think most people consider the RWS deck the standard size, I didn't actually measure this one against another deck so I can't say for sure. I was just guessing by the feel of the cards in my hand. I have some trouble shuffling the RWS as well, but I think that's cause of the cardstock, but I guess that also depends on the edition as they vary. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
The first print of the mass market was a little on the thin side so I collaged on top of that one. The revised print that's out now is a little thicker and it's held up very well. 🙂
So it looks like this mass market edition is essentially the Ephemera Edition? The Ephemera did not work out for me at all so I am glad to have this confirmed :) Thank you!
I'm so glad you love it too! Edging the cards is when you color the sides of a deck. So kinda like gilding, but you do it yourself with markers, stamps etc. Hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Does anyone have a link to where the indie version can be purchased? I bought this version only because I couldn’t find the indie deck anywhere online. I agree the card stock is really bad. The artwork is great however and I love the guidebook. But unfortunately, there’s no way these cards will hold up with frequent use...
I do not believe the indie deck is available for purchase anymore, but you may try some of the Tarot swap and sell groups on Facebook. You might be able to find a second hand copy there. I hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
That is is, but it does shuffle well and for me that's a big plus. I wonder if these publishers who don't often produce decks don't think about cardstock, although you would think they would do their research first. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Was it the indie edition? I can't remember if that one came with a guidebook. The new mass market edition has a book, I'm not sure how you would get it otherwise. Sorry I'm not more help! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I am not sure as I don't often purchase decks from them so I don't how fast their inventory turns around. I would assume at this point, it's probably been long enough that most every place should have the new cardstock by now. I would just check the return policy before you order. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
The suit is basically the same even if it has slightly different names, so coins and Pentacles are the same thing. Some decks will create unique names for the suits (such as branches for wands or vessels for cups) but the core 4 suits remain basically the same. I hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Lol, I think that we must have bought this deck practically around the same time you in US, me in Australia ! I usually definitely do not go for this type of deck but I was browsing around , itching to buy a new deck when I saw it on the shelf of my local book shop. Interestingly the big box is different, plain dark navy blue with copper writing and decoration, quite beautiful in its simplicity. Mine is called Tarot for the Modern reader and I didn't know it was the Antique Anatomy tarot until I saw your video. Like you I was a little disappointed on the flimsiness of the cards, but surprisingly they shuffle really well (overhand shuffle, not so good riffle) . I wonder if it could be used for health readings? Is there any such thing as health spreads for Tarot? Lenormand lends itself very well for health readings as each card relates to some parts of the body and organs.
I didn't know there was another mass market verison until I heard from some lovely viewers in the comments. That is so interesting! I don't think I know enough about anatomy to use it in health readings, bit someone with more knowledge than me might be able to use it in that respect. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Honestly, I think it shuffles really well both ways so I'm really not that turned off by the cardstock. I'm more worried about the longevity of the deck and how it will hold up over time. But as far as shuffling (both ways) it seems to do well. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Hi! I used your video as a video where I react to the cards. If you mind, I take it down. It is in dutch, so not very understandable. I made a link to this video. Please tell me if you mind. :)
Yea I hate to say it, but I feel like the card stock is almost unacceptable. This kind of annoys me because I feel like people who can only afford MM decks deserve better. I would have rather they spent money on the card stock than the box.
I agree, especially where the boxes are concerned. As beautiful as they are, the boxes are just the container for the real product, which is the book and deck. Publishers need to focus on the parts of the product that we actually use! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

I had a second edition indie print and it was very thin card stock. Very flimsy like what this looks like. It was the whole reason i sold them.

Thank you, nice review. I hear you say "pickish" - not sure if I'm hearing correctly but what word is that you're using? Thanks!
I probably said "pipish" because the Antique Anatomy is a pip deck, meaning it doesn't have full scenic minors. :) I hope that helps!
I just got that deck and I love it!! And sorry, I'm fairly new, what does it mean to 'edge' the cards?
