I've been making similar video for a while and I've recently been wondering what category these types of video fall under. When asked I always say edits or tribute videos, but that doesn't seem completely right. Also since every one of my videos are copyrighted, by either the song owner or companies like Disney itself, I'm always unsure how to make them and not worry about copyright. Either way, this video was great and if you have the time, could you help a brother out?

If you mean the category that youtube literally allows you to select, I always choose "Film and Animation". As for the copyright? You're shit out of luck on that one. Nearly 98% of my videos get copyright claimed as well. I mostly make these videos for fun, I'm not monetized. That's a harsh reality most video editors that dabble in this kind of content have to deal with :/
