I loved this game so much when I was around 4 years old. Ironically, I loved that second to last level trying to meet back up with Qui Gon before he was killed. I enjoyed seeing them fight in the distance and cross the bridge as you made your way across the chasm too.

This was the first video game I ever had in my life it was gifted to me around age 10 11 when ps2 was already out and it took me about half a year to beat the first level yet after that it all came together and I love this game so thankyou for this full break down trip through memory lane

I also really love to fight along battle significant NPCs, like Call of Duty. I got *heartbroken* when I finished Suikoden II for the first time, and seeing that some of my favorite NPCs actually DIED during the strategy battle bits! Like, in the end, the game say what each NPC did after the ending events. And my *favorite* NPC, the librarian lady, just had written "Killed in battle".

I had the PC version of this back in 1999 when it was new. I was 14 at the time. The random NPC interactions and killing sprees in Mos Espa are some of the most fun I've had in a video game. I probably beat the game 5 or 6 times.

I think this game can be improve if added a dash of Jedi Power Battles gameplay and combat,
with dash Dark Forces 2 lite rpg elements and have different and upgradable force powers and stats.
And fix the escort mission with more friendly NPCS helping/defending/healing the VIP or have less of it.

    A few little fun facts,
This game originally was going to have a multiplayer, but was cut due to time. Had they had even a month more time, it would have
Total dismemberment was possible, but was cut when George Lucas came to the studio and they realized even the kids could be.
The game was originally intended to be played in 3rd person, but lucas arts told them not to, because they already had games in 3rd person at the time in shadows of the empire and jedi knight.
The moss espa pod race was not included in the game, because star wars pod racer was in production at the same time.
    Just some cool facts

I don't know how I got to this vid, but more astoundingly I have no idea how 10 year old me beat this game.

Im gonna guess someone jumped down there at some point, died, and complained that there wasnt a giant sign letting you know that wasnt the way 😂

  • @TorgoHiggins

I spent an absurd amount of time with the game in general, and yes, also the Mos Espa level in particular. I played the stage so much as a kid I actually found a bugged corner of the city that would reset your criminal flag if you killed someone... but only if guards didn't see you and call you out on your way there. Made it a nice little stealth game. I eventually succeeded in cleaning out nearly the entire town and completing the stage with a squeaky clean record.
By far one of my absolute favorite dumpster fires of a video game.

    • @ABitMoreJordan

My parents bought this game from me and it was a time when everyone loved Star Wars. Media did had something to say about Episode 1, but me and all of my friends loved it. Was playing Dark Forces 2 non-stop until I got my hands on this. I loved the game. Sure it had some problems but I absolutely loved how it follows the entire movie. The game had the great sense of scale and you definitely felt when you played Padme and when you played as a Jedi. I wish we got Star Wars original trilogy in a sense of this, like playing though entire story. Aside from this game, KOTOR is my favorite Star Wars game.

great vid! It motivated me to go out and pick up this game for PS1 on the weekend. I had the big box PC version back when it came out and I remember playing it a lot in the summer back when it came out. It came out at the time where demand for SW suddenly jumped but the SW content and info available was so limited, so you took what you could. Jank aside it wasn't the best game, but it was closest to the movie and allowed you to explore the SW prequel world a bit more.

The Disney movies and the prequels are terrible in different ways. It’s like George forgot how to make good movies when he did the prequels, it was strange. All the things he used to say in interviews about what makes a good movie… he seemingly ignored them and did the opposite.

I have beaten this game only using a lightsaber except for the ones that I don't play a Jedi. XD

I loved this game but was so young i had zero skill at it, only ever made it as far as Jabba's pit where you have to fight the weird monster thing or whatever it was. Mostly just ran around and broke the Jedi code by commiting genocide 🤣

I never did finish this game, think I got to Naboo and gave up on it. Also, I've been around Sheffield on a few nights out never had anyone pushing me around before though.

I've given you a sub, great video btw, but I'm still baffled where in England your accent comes from, maybe it's a Mos Espa twang.

    • @ABitMoreJordan
      @ABitMoreJordan  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

It’s a northern British accent that’s long since faded since I’ve lived in a different country for 12 years.

I remember playing the PC version when it came out and thought it was good. But since I have not touched it for years, maybe I am wrong and I think about Episode 3 on PS2? :-) I always enjoyed the RACER games. Not much of a story but fast fun space races.

Fun fact: "Panaca" means "idiot", "dumbass" or the like in Portuguese. So poor captain.
I know his name is written with a k, but it sounds exactly the same.

I have fond memories of this game. I never got anywhere far in the game so I would constantly cheat. I used to make fun of how goofy this game is. The graphics are horribly pixelated. I played Ps1 games that came out in 1995 that looked better. My favorite Star Wars game is Star Wars Battlefront II (2005).

I hope someday they will bring back SW game with dismemberment. I like fallen order etc but lightsaber and spongy enemies doesn’t fit together at all.
