We say in Yoruba that when there's peace in a family, it's only because the bastard in that family hasn't manifested himself. Yes. The Nigerian community in the UK was at peace until the bastard in our midst showed himself up.

He chose the wrong type of popularity. He had the opportunity to sell his country and the hard-working nature of his compatriots, but he chose the negatives. Does he think everybody is escaping like he did? He is still oblivious of what he did bc he doesnt even understand the gravity yet. It will sink in daily, I hope he can bear the weight of the damage he did to our collective image as a people.

Even that £15000 is stolen money in Nigeria. The First class starting graduate in Nigeria gets at best $300 a month from a new job in Chevron(Nigeria). Where does the average student in Nigeria then get £15000 to study in UK?

It's a common trait innate in many black folks when their inferiority complex syndrome overwhelms their senses when sat in the face of wyt interrogators. Many tend to lose their mind and then the vomiting starts. They'll spew everything in that moment as they become convinced and excited in the belief that their interrogators are in awe of their ability to speak eloquent English. Ode Oshi.

He shows no remorse esp. in his video with daddy freeze and he should not think he can trust the same people who enslaved his ancestors. He probably has not had much experience around these people. It's foolish not to know your enemy in a war. I think he might have even said worse things if they should release the full interview. You need to deal carefully when dealing with these people.

The point is that NOT EVERY Nigerian studying in the UK has that same intention... As such, he shouldn't have spoken for the ENTIRE NATION based on what some people do.
The second point is that even if people are doing it, it was legal in the UK as at that time. The UK welcomed (past tense because they have now changed their policy) students to bring their family over. Imagine having to study for 4 years in another country without seeing your wife and children for 4 years...😢
The 3rd point is that Nigerians aren't the only set of immigrants doing the same thing but they're discreet about it (it's not synonyms to lieing).
He must have spoken the truth for himself (he traveled there as a dependant) and the circle of people he knows. And of course, no one is asking him to lie. But the most significant takeaway is that wisdom is profitable to direct in the way we speak and manner of addressing things. He shouldn't have spoken for the entire nation based on his experience. Plus, I know a handful of people who studied in the UK without taking their family members. In fact I have a senior colleague who studied his Masters degree there and came back. He shouldn't have spoken for over 200 Million Nigerians.
The UK government earn billions from the Nigerians and other immigrants over there but they won't come out and publicly admit it over the media.
Sorry to digress a bit, they also partake in looting our natural resources, but you'd NEVER see them come up with microphones to say their agenda.....
Speaking the truth is golden, but even scripture loath talkatives who don't understand the right application of knowledge.
We're bound to make mistakes as humans... He has made his and he'll learn from it. Hurt Nigerians should kindly forgive him and move on from it.
I pray everyone reading this post finds his green pastures and peace of mind regardless of their country's economy - Amen.
      Sincerely,
      Benita Alagha.
