Thanks for sharing! Planning to make this for my hubby's 50th birthday guests! I just got a Maker 3 so this will be 3rd DIY project. I love your video!
None. Acrylic is something that cuts really nicely on the Glowforge though! We have a whole video about the Glowforge laser cutter you can check out :)
Hi. I’m wondering if you can cut thin acrylic with your maker? I am a silhouette girl but I usually only make shirts and card stock Projects. But I’m thinking of getting a maker to try to cut thin pieces of acrylic and I was wondering if it would work.
With the maker, it gives an option after the cutting it "done" to either unload the mat, or add a pass. Press the "C" Cricut button to add one pass. DO NOT UNLOAD TO CHECK THE CUT! The first time I tried it, I took all but one piece of tape off to check the back, placed it back exactly where it was originally, tried to cut it again, & it started cutting in a slightly different place... thus ruining that piece. The piece I was trying to cut was cut with only 4 passes, but I ended up adding a lot more. I lost count...
You can cut the Balsa wood, but it's much softer and more fragile, so it's not as nice for place settings. I've also used really thin wood pieces from Michaels and they cut well, as long as you have a good blade! Hope that helps!
My goddness, this is amazing! You are such a wonderful instructor. great tutorial, be blessed for sharing!
Nancy Feliciano thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for sharing ❤ Foes apply to chipboard as well ?
How do I find this font?? Can u download it only in Cricut?

How many passes does it take to cut?
you can also ungroup the letters and move each letter around rotate if needed. I just thought it might be helpful
Renee Dow yes! Absolutely! So helpful! 🖤
Hi where did you get the wood from?
Linked in the video description 🙂
Where did you get your wood from?
Excellent tutorial ❤
Thank you! 😊
I think someone has already ask this but I have the Cricut Explore Air 2. Will I be able to do this using what I have?
No :( Unfortunately you need the knife blade to cut wood
Do you think it would be possible to make open face kind of 3d letters like these similar to the letters that are made with sheet metal.
With multiple layers/cut you could get that look.
How did you download the script? I've never used a cricut buying one today so excited! Thank you for this tutorial it seems easy to follow
THANK YOU! This was a great tutorial!
Glad it was helpful!
Does it work on acrylic as well
Did you use a different cutting tool for the wood or did you use the standard one the maker comes with?
Yes, you need the knife blade to cut wood.
Hello! What are the measurements for these cutouts. Thanks
Hiya, what script did you actually use for the finish product?
One of the best tutorial 👌
Glad it helped!
Awesome video for a newbie like me to use! Thank you
Hi... How long did it take to cut those names out?
can you use the cricut cartridges rather than design space ?
Nice tutorial!
Thanks!
This was so helpful. Thanks!
Which cricut can do this with acrylic mirror?
None. Acrylic is something that cuts really nicely on the Glowforge though! We have a whole video about the Glowforge laser cutter you can check out :)
Thank you so much, I have learnt a lot from your video💛
Thank you so much. I just tried using mine for the first time (I already have an Explore), and I was getting soooooo frustrated. I'll try these tips!

PS I am on my sons TH-cam so don’t mind the name 😂
I haven't done acrylic on my Maker, but have on our Glowforge - you can see out Glowfroge in action on our TH-cam channel too!
Awesome! Did you have to manually add the passes to cut?
Judy Blaise nope! The Cricut calculates it for you! 🖤

I know this video is from a year ago and I can't find the cricut basswood.. do you know what other ones will work? Thanks!

How big can Cricut cut letters? Can it cut birch plywood?
Which exact Cricut Maker did you use? There are so many.
Holly Andrews there are a bunch of Cricut machines, but the only one that cuts wood is actually called the “Cricut Maker”. It’s linked in my post!
@@LindiandRuss Thank you so much!
The first one you deleted that said mom what font was that??
Totally unrelated...but where's your table from?! :)
We made it! There’s a tutorial on our blog if you search “live edge table” 🖤
What kind of cri cut is this? Trying to figure out the best one for me!
The Cricut Maker is the only one that cuts wood 🖤
@@LindiandRuss Oh ok thanks. Does this one cut Acrylic by any chance? Or is it just wood and balsa wood?
@@lovelyrich54 it will cut it if it’s under a mm thick. Same settings as wood.
@@LindiandRuss ok thanks alot!
Could you cut larger words with this?
The mats only come in size 12" x 24", so that's the largest you can cut at one time :)
fantastic, thanks!
Ok Lindey so... I love your channel... subscribed!
MrKirby365 amazing!! I missed this message before, but thank you for subbing!! 🖤
Are you able to make a large name? Not sure if that makes sense. Kind of like an est sign for a wall with last name!?
You can only make it as large as the mats, so 12” x 24”. It also only uses thin woods, so it probably wouldn’t work great for big name signs!
Love Create Celebrate ty for responding ❤️
Did anyone else have problems with it just not going all the way through. It’s so frustrating
🙌🏾✨
That is beautiful. I tried making this and the knife blade broke.
Oh no! I've used my knife blades tons of times and I've never had one break! Hopefully if you get a new one it lasts longer!
the finish is ruff
Respectfully disagree 😂😂
@@LindiandRuss 😊🤭 that's all that matters
for beginners? Im a total newb sorry but you have to start at the start
Agreed, start small and grow from there!
