As for the confidence, it’s just like when I used to ride my motorcycle all the time, and my wife was constantly stressed cause she worked in the neurosurgery ICU. I could have been the best rider in the world, but there are too many other factors on the road for it to matter, especially when you’re going that fast. They get SO close to other cars, if one of them taps their brakes at the wrong time it’s over

The reason I’m afraid to change lanes on the highway:
If you see upcoming car closing to you soo fast just stick to your lane because if you change you might crash into him. Because you think you will give him the lane but he think he should change lane to undertake you. If the car is speeding a little more than you and you can change lane to give him your lane you can go for it
@@takumifujiwara3066 So there is a car behind you going at the same speed, you want to change lanes, you see nothing in that lane, but out of knowwhere a speeder swerves into that lane previously hidden by the vehicle behind you, and has no chance of stopping before hitting you.
It's really not that simple.

But lets suppose you felt uncomfortable someone is always behind you or the car wants to speed up so you changed the lane and all of a sudden a car double your speed is came out of nowhere will surely hit you. Then its his fault for speeding and putting people's life at risk. I was just stating for your own safety and the speeder to stay put in your lane because the speeder will see you as an obstacle that need to avoid by going to the second lane. If you want to make room for him you either realize him moving very fast from far away and change or if it was too late just dont because you will both crash together. I didn't say it was simple or anything and what you said is also correct
