    Nicely done Darren. Had to laugh as you reached the top of the stairs, you look in much better shape than me but I was panting like a dog with sunstroke by the time I reached the top of those stairs.

    Very nice, Darren. :-) I really want to go to Melacca and explore. It seems so lovely to the eye. 3:31 ...Chinese tourists. Yes, two words occasionally said where I live, Tokyo. Lol. Looking forward to your next video from Melacca (maybe seeing you on a cruise?) - David

    i am doing a side trip to kl from Hua hin Thailand in October due to new direct flight there. i have 5 days in the country.Do you think melaka is worth 2 days?

    • @remotedarren
      @remotedarren  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say it's worth a visit to Melaka, and there are plenty of buses running there from the main bus station. It's a bit of a trek but worth it and you should be able to see the main spots in 2 days.

    • @ianpearson8976
      @ianpearson8976 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thankyou.Yes kuala lumpur looked abit like bangkok so 3days should be enough.melaka looks easy going city.

    • @remotedarren
      @remotedarren  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say 3 days in KL is plenty enough, make you head to Batu Caves. I've done a ton of videos from KL and a few from Melaka, but if you have any questions just drop me a messgae.

      thanks darren.I spent 20 yrs visiting philippines,worked in hk for 2yrs.only recently found thailand 5yrs ago (which i regret not sooner!) and now i see malaysia as a natural progression.I love thailand but have never been into the tacky bar scene there .Malaysia looks superb! food looks great too.I have a feeling i might fall in love with this country.Excited to come in october.I will watch all yr kl videos now.I am interested to see how it compares to thailand and bangkok.

    Malacca is a sad story as it plundered by the Portuguese. Its wealth stolen by the Portuguese. The Portuguese ship laden with the wealth sank in the straits and no one able to trace it until today.

      Interesting city, with lots of history, for sure. Sadly, i was ill towards the end of my trip here because I would have liked to have seen more of the place. Next time I come to Malaysia, I'd like to revisit.

      I like Malacca for its complex history. It is a clean city too.
      Other than exploring the old city, I love these places:
      1. Duyong - village of the legendary Malacca admiral.
      2. Umbai - seaside grilled fish dinner. Open at night only.
      3. Malacca Botanical Garden.
