- Mira and Laurie, new hot couple from HBO Max original series "Irma Vep", premieres every Monday on HBO Max.
Plot: Irma Vep revolves around Mira, an American movie star disillusioned by her career and a recent breakup, who comes to France to star as “Irma Vep” in a remake of the French silent film classic Les Vampires. Set against the backdrop of a lurid crime thriller, Mira struggles as the distinctions between herself and the character she plays begin to blur and merge.
Episode 1: When disillusioned A-list Hollywood actress Mira Harberg arrives in Paris to immerse herself in the coveted role of iconic villainous Irma Vep in a remake of Feuillade's The Vampires, an encounter with her former lover Laurie reignites dormant passions. Meanwhile, the project's acclaimed director Rene Vidal struggles as production woes threaten to derail his vision.
Episode 2 premieres on Monday, June 13th around 9pm EST, on HBO Max

@@narimeen1668 laurie was mira's assistant and they were sleeping together. But Mira was also sleeping and dating around other people. So Laurie was hurt and jealous and in kind of a "revenge" way, married one of the directors. Later they have a conversation where Laurie admits she was hurt when Mira was sleeping with other people. Mira says she was hurt too when she married the director.
In Mira's own words they had an open relationship but only Mira could sleep with other people..not Laurie. So there they are now where Mira wants Laurie back.... soo.. pretty hot and toxic 😢
My favorite line is when Mira says “you do”. She says it so fast. She didn’t give it a second to respond. Can’t wait for more!

@@WhoWhatWhe well the simplest way to put it is that it might be chemistry for you and a game of dominance for the other person... it might seem like they leave suddenly but in fact they were never planning to stay. Lastly that this is one of the two types of people and it's so ridiculously easy to recognise them. You just gotta trust your gut and then decide if you hate yourself enough to fall for them... Just make sure not to do it twice I would say... Once for the experience is enough...

Well Laurie is currently in LA with her male companion who she is constantly name dropping in conversations with Mira in an attempt to make her jealous. Mira is filming for Irma Vep despite her manager's claim that production is withdrawing their support due to the director, René, having mental health problems, and filming for the show requires her to stay in France until they wrap up the shoot, which she agrees to, partly to avoid running into Laurie in LA. Therefore the next few episodes might not be revolved around Laurie - Although we did get a scene in the second episode (I think) where Mira talks about Laurie's post on Instagram which involves her somehow, because the post had gotten some media attention.

Let me give you the run down: Laurie used to be Mira's assistant (which we got from Mira telling Laurie that she used to run errands for her) and while they were sleeping together Mira would see other people - but not Laurie. Apparently Mira claims she made it clear to her from the beginning that she was never into monogamy. Fast forward til now, Laurie is dating her male companion and is constantly name dropping him while talking to Mira in an attempt to make her envious of losing her, which causes Mira to say she is better than him in bed. Laurie is currently toying with Mira as a way of revenge, she wants Mira to do everything she says. We believe Mira is giving her the idea that she's got the upper hand when in reality she doesn't.. At all. Laurie is now posting about Mira on instagram causing the Internet to go insane. Mira isn't going back to LA (which is where Laurie currently is, with her male companion) because she has to focus on filming for Irma Vep, but also to avoid running into Laurie in LA. Which means we might not get to see them interact in the next few episodes... Unless, and to quote Mira's manager, production withdraws their support due to René, the director, having mental health issues.

FWIW, if you like the "Hollywood making sausage" genre w/ strong WLW characters, ck out the books "The 7 Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo" & "Plain Bad Heroines". I listened to both on Audible- really good. The narrator for "PBH" is the best that I've ever heard, & I envision Kristen Stewart in the role of Harper Harper (the character's actual name). "7 Hubbies" is being made into a movie. Can't wait; it's a lesbian love story for the ages & I have no doubt that the main characters are based upon Lana Turner, Ava Gardner, Marilyn Monroe & other closeted screen sirens from back in the day. Also, there's "Call My Agent", a FR series on Netflix, & "Ten Percent", the UK version of CMA on BBC.
@@elizabethmorgan293 I haven't finished episode 2 but I would be surprised if they did since René is acting weird and confessing strange things to his therapist. I talked with another viewer of the show and they brought up the theory that Herman (the male companion) might actually be the one to take charge of production, which would explain all his interactions in the very first episode. I have read Evelyn Hugo actually! It was a tearjerker! I was so torn by it but eventually made myself forget it ever existed after a week of constant crying 😂 I'll check out your other recommendations though!

An interesting thing that i noticed is that Mira kept evading or saying no but when Laurie said is as a command instead of a suggestion, Mira couldn't help but oblige.
