      I've been on the internet for 20+ years, so I am a little familiar with it. Please don't teach a safety program, which is what I do for a living. Get $30K for a school. What do you do? I'm not squawking, idiot. I'd just fire your un-safe butt. That spoon on the video is lodged in there, stopping any side to side movement. If you're reaching past it and then draw back, you run the risk of overturning it. If you sweep across it, you spill it. You must be a real weakling if you would need two hands to overturn a pot of water. That sauce pan weighs nothing. You're a full-blown idiot. I have many pots and pans that you could stick a spoon in, as they are meant to hang from hooks by the holes. You did get triggered bad. You've GOT to be a liberal, and probably a drug user, being so opinionated and over-reactive. Why don't you go out and riot and break some windows.

  • @sisterpete
    @sisterpete 7 ปีที่แล้ว +101

    which fact surprised me most? I think the surprise would be for the person that placed the wooden spoon in the pot handle on your video... expecting the mess to fall directly into the pot. take a look at the video, the top of the spoon isn't anywhere near being over the pot.
    not nitpicking, just having a good laugh! LOL

    • @jeanettehwdyck
      @jeanettehwdyck 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you are using a metal spoon, leaving it in the pot would make it very hot. If you keep a wooden spoon sitting in the pot, the wood tends to absorb the contents of your pot, and depending on what you have in it, may get soft over time from the contents. (over a really really long time, you are essentially cooking your spoon) I find that no matter how much you wash your wooden spoon, not all the food particulates wash out. (unless I soak it in bleach, but then your food will have bleach particulates in it - yum!) Personally, I use a spoon rest on the stove, mainly because I'm klutzy and would be prone to knocking things off that are protruding from a pot. ;)

    • @Alan.Bishop
      @Alan.Bishop 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Just be sure you don't overdo it with the dry graphite. If you use too much, it will jam and be unable to unlock. Worked with a local locksmith, so I should know. Get something meant for locks with aersol oil like Tri-Flow, etc and go easy on it, too.

    • @gregm.857
      @gregm.857 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ditto on the Tri-Flo brand aerosol teflon spray ... it's absolutely the best thing for locks. Graphite is hygroscopic, which means it attracts and retains moisture, including moisture from humid air. As a worst case scenario it will attract moisture into the lock and if used to excess it can eventually even promote rusting. I've used Tri-Flo for over 30 years -- it has un-gummed many locks, made stubborn keys work smoothly again, and has never caused a problem.

    Regarding "punt" or depression on bottom of wine bottle. I happen to work in the wine industry in Israel. For 8 months out of the year I load bottles (by hand) from a pallet to a conveyor belt. To date (over 4 years) I've loaded well over 5 million bottles (I just turned 71 by the way). The "punt" serves a very important function for bottle storage. periodically the separators between layers will deteriorate if made from cardboard or some lousy forklift operators drop a pallet onto another pallet at an angle. In either case, the bottles will "collide" with each other and were it not for the "punt" you would have may more broken bottles where one is shoved up into the other. Thanks for all the info, it was great.

    The indentations in winebottles have another purpose too: Old wine can have a sediment that makes the last 1 cm (½inch) of the bottle undrinkable or at least unattractive. The indentation in the bottle makes the volume af the last cm much smaller and thus there is more wine left to drink.

    Sorry, you're wrong about the reason for ferrite beads on electronic cables. Yes, they are intended to reduce radio frequency signals. However, they are NOT intended to keep external signals out of your computer monitor (one example you gave).
    Electronic equipment like computers and monitors produces various high-frequency signals internally, as a byproduct of normal functioning. These signals can leave the case (of the computer, etc.) by traveling along the wires (like power cables, monitor cables, etc.). Then the signals use those same wires as an antenna, thereby transmitting unwanted RF (radio frequency) "noise" into the environment. This "noise" can cause problems with nearby equipment like radio receivers, etc.
    The ferrite bead acts to "choke" those signals so the signals do not get past the bead into the longer part of the cable. (You'll notice the bead is always located near the end of the cable that connects to the device in question.) This reduces the amount of RF noise that is radiated into the region near the equipment.
    Here in the US, the FCC has strict limits on the amount of interference that can be produced by electronic devices (like computers, monitors, etc.). By reducing the amount of this interference that is actually transmitted into the air, the ferrite beads help the computer (or whatever) meet the FCC requirements for low emission.
    Aside from this minor misunderstanding, I found the rest of the video to be interesting and very well produced. Oh, one other minor detail: the word is minUscule (with a U), not minIscule (with an I) as you pronounced it. It's related to the word minUs, when you stop to think about it.

    They don't keep the punt in wine bottles because it looks cool. They keep them there today because it makes it look like a bigger bottle of wine than it actually it. Especially the ones that go a third up the bottle.

    The dimples on the bottom reports the quality and potency of the make. Which in a dark wine cellar feeling your dimples will tell without need of labels or lights. The deeper the dimples the better quality and potency. ok

      Several more modern pants do just that, with a slightly wider and elongated version sewn in. I, however, actually use the "watch pocket" for it's intended purpose - I got hooked on pocket watches after receiving one at my wedding years ago.

    No 8 is wrong. Denim trousers were first made by Levi Strauss during the goldrush, but the watch pocket was not the small pocket. It's so the workers could put the tiny pieces of gold in there without losing them. Denim jeans were never intended to become fashionable! They were work clothes. That's why it didn't matter that the brown stitching did not match the blue denim. They were the cheapest yet strongest materials.

    The dimple on the bottom of a bottle of wine is to catch and hold the wines sediment, so it does not pour into your glass.
    Nothing to do with the rubbish told here. The same reason you decant good wines not mass produced drinking wines.

    Nope. To hang up a pan, you need a hole. To this end you put a hole in the handle (there is really nowhere else to put it.) What I'm trying to say is that the hole in the handle of a pan is to hang up said pan. Thanks.
