This man is a BEAST to even try to sing it live 100% you can truely see he can do it but, at the end, you can clearly see he's happy that's the last song because he's done till next week lmao.
Such depth and belief in the words . . . i've only recently found Shinedown and Brent Smith . . . and as the saying goes . . . "so have my neighbours" I'm so impressed by this band then and now still . . .
Damn this dude got some SERIOUS chops! just heard this song yesterday for the first time I was blowed away. This is real raw talent, either you got it or u don't.
Hey friend, when I heard him singing the song "simple man" he blew my mind! 😉 I like the Lynyrd Skynyrd's band a lot!! But I have a good ear!! When I hear a really good voice, the hair on my arms seriously stands like a soldier!!! Then I get these fabulous feelings all over me. The feelings resemble dopamine and serotonin flowing all over at warp spend!!! To me it's 1000% better than an orgasm!!! I must have a gift from birth!!! I don't have a problem with sayings that Brent Smith sings The Simple Man way better than any person I've ever heard sing it he's awesome HANDS DOWN 💋💋💋💋
I just listened to some covers of this song right before I got here, and they were good, but man after hearing this performance, it's akin to seeing some decent dunks in a basketball game and then Vince Carter busts out with a freakin windmill alley oop gusto jam and is still gripping the rim after he lands. 🔥🔥🔥
This never gets old. I remember this album coming out and seeing them open for Seether in Dayton. I was blown away by Brent’s voice. Saw them last year and he is still just as amazing. One of the best voices in rock-ever.
@@tristencoon8198 No he isn't for any shows recently go look on TH-cam no tracks are played. They have such closeups on his face you can see he is singing.
Thank You so much for this footage!! I can't say thank you and feel like it's enough, but I don't know how to put in to words how huge this to me. So I will leave it at Thank You 1000 times!
This reminds me of 7th grade at the skatepark. And when people who skated at the skatepark actually talked to each other lol. Now it’s just headphones and skinny jeans
I wish he still sounded this good. This is his absolute best performance. Sadly he doesn't sound this good anymore, he's still awesome, but not this good.
Brent admitted he did permanent damage because he sang like this & wasn't properly trained. He has gotten much better because he got some training and healed his chords but he needs to be careful & that is why he holds back live.
He is either a prophet of god or he is lucifer.. Think about it, the bands name "shinedown" first album leave a whisper, the song fly from the inside, i found a way to steal the son from the sky and long live that day that i decided to fly from the inside.. The song " shed some light" he said that he wrote that song about his father, said that he was not a very big man but when he walked into a room he was a mountain.. The song " beyond the sun" also has some hints in there, the song "second chance" or "through the ghost" and their are many more songs that he drops little hints in, "devil" how about the song ''atlas falls" ok ive been a huge sd fan for 20yrs ive seen them i believe 22 times, and since the very first time i heard brent open his mouth to sing i knew something was very special about him, i go to his shows and the energy that he puts out is just unexplainable,, when the song atlas falls came out i didn't think anything about it other than they obviously wrote about the pandemic but when he said that he wrote it many years ago while making the album sound of madness, he said they didn't put it on that album but that he had always knew it would have a purpose down the road...and finding our way to crescendo, to the unknown, well never make it outside lest we unlock the path and release the future that we've left to die for too long we've taken placebos but the. "unknown is Awakening" Dont give up now, there's already so much at stake if atlas falls ill rise up and carry us all away , it won't hold me down the weight of impossible days, I'll Stand Tall I'll rise up and carry us all the way... Who writes songs like that? No man! Thats much deeper than man can go.. I don't think it's a coincidence
Hope you can you won't be disappointed they are just great guys. I've met them multiple times official M&G, CD M&G and showed up at their tour bus still awesome.
He is amazing. But, he has a backing track on Diamond Eyes. I love them, but he does not reach those notes in the chorus live. And I'm okay with that because I've also seen them when Brent had totally blown out his voice. So, I want him to be able to tour as long as he can, whatever it takes. Great band regardless.
Liam Sweeney it's a shame but true he can't sing like this anymore.the man literally put his all into this band and paid for it.still is an amazing vocalist but nothing to what he used to be.
He is forcing too much. Which is damaging to the voice. Which is something now he learned that is not needed. This type of singing u will not last long. And personally it don’t sound good when you force sing.
nah you retard this is just top tier power. you just don't hear it often which is why you think it's improper technique. a weak pop singer will lose their voice after 20 years also. his voice loss had nothing to do with his tremendous technique. to this day brent still voice mogs jfl
This guy slays hard. What a voice, even live. Nails it every time
I'm with you 100%, no matter what he does he hits it every time he is an absolute genius and he is a gift from God
I lost my Shinedown concert partner and bestie in August 2023 😢, this its me hard in the feels!
Wow. I knew Brent's hair was long at one point in time, but damn! I had no idea it had gotten THAT long. I love it.
Yea, he cut it because it was getting into his mouth when he sang, ha.
@@ellisford5038 no because they have different shit now nothing too good
@@WarGhostsquad Im just going by what Brent said in an interview.
Yeah it looks cool
So much better than that corporate look they have going on these days. Music was better too.
This lineup was the embodiment of perfection, nothing will ever be able to replicate it...
Yes!!!! Absolutely agree!!!
the Eagles too
Indeed, Nothing...
Jesus. His voice. I am not okay.
This man is a BEAST to even try to sing it live 100% you can truely see he can do it but, at the end, you can clearly see he's happy that's the last song because he's done till next week lmao.
People who have demons or who are heartbroken write the best songs!
Such depth and belief in the words . . . i've only recently found Shinedown and Brent Smith . . . and as the saying goes . . . "so have my neighbours" I'm so impressed by this band then and now still . . .
I wish this version of the band was still here.
Damn this dude got some SERIOUS chops! just heard this song yesterday for the first time I was blowed away. This is real raw talent, either you got it or u don't.

Holy crap that was awesome.
That fuckin scream at he slowly fell apart was insane!!!!
I love it so much❤❤❤
Still is the best he ever sounded here. Brent was on this day, awesome

Wow Brent and Berry are young here and Brent still has that voice
Love Shine down . One of my favorite songs. Long live Rock. Best music.
They are so good!
That 3 minutes plus was awesome.

when Shinedown put out good songs
He had a wide range of vocals

Quick question do you think they're new album will be better in your opinion
@@thezombros2607 hell no its gonna be way more pop like and less rock bet Zack can't play rock for the life of him
@@WarGhostsquad I think I’ll like it but we have different taste in music I think it’s gonna be more like attention attention which is good imo
@@WarGhostsquad yeah I’m thinking it’s gonna be all electronic and video game sounding, more like imagine dragons than og shinedown
Its very obvious that cornell was one of his influences. It makes me happy that he freely admits it.
I'd go to Disney for him
This is a godly voice! Explain that atheists lmao
Lmao

do you have any more vids from this show????
This sounds exactly the same as the acoustic version of 45 on spotify

he just worked his fucking ass off. this ain't no magical world buddy. perhaps listen to the song again and you may understand its meaning.
Y’all took that comment way to serious. All I was trying to do was quantify how impressive this is. Chill lmao

Are there any other recordings of this showing?
He was great here, but has learned to control his voice much better now.
Yeah, but it would be amazing to hear him like this again
not really his voice worked much better here
What happened to the guitarist with the long hair not dreads?
That’s Jasin Todd , he left the band in 2008
Brett should grow his hair back out. I love it.
Name of the singer n guitarist?
Brent Smith and Jasin Todd he isn't in the band anymore. Both had issues with drugs & alcohol they had to be split up.
1:50 wtf? cow?
sucks that his vocals aren't nearly this good anymore
you must have a bad headset.. try go see them live, Diamond eyes live and dont miss a note.. Same with 45.

I just saw him live acoustic. Didn't miss a note. Unreal.
I saw them back in 2013. He does not miss a note and can hit the high notes. 45 and second chance were UNREAL. Best live band hands down.

Fuck the long hair is so much better. Also get Jasin back.
Jesus fucking christ
This sounds fucking awesome but it has to hurt the way he’s doing it.
Not really, it’s just a lot of work and natural talent
If he did it all the time then yeah
He is forcing too much. Which is damaging to the voice. Which is something now he learned that is not needed. This type of singing u will not last long. And personally it don’t sound good when you force sing.
Exactly like drugs, he was at his peak and did not spare himself, we managed to see his best
