An honor and a privilege Bert!!! THANK YOU for having us on your podcast. We had a BLAST. Let's hang again soon! 🤘
Love your shows. Seen y'all 7 times.
I'm a huge fan, thanks for all you guys do, bert included. 45 was such a hit for me growing up as a teen. You guys don't miss.
Much love Brent and Zach! From your number one fan! (Besides your parents haha)
Honestly, this moved me, I lost a lot of people, due to lack of support from family members and 🥹 not everyone learns from their mistakes! I LOVED THE INTERVIEW! #ShinedownAlways ❤👏🏻
Y'all got me off heroine, thanks fellas... Doing great, married to the same woman since highschool with 4 kids
❤❤❤
To sit in a room with shinedown and just have a personal concert is what heaven will be like for me.
The power of Brents voice is just something from another world.
In my most humble heart. This is 100% the best episode of any podcast I have ever watched. My eyes are still wet and my heart is happy. THANK YOU Bert.....
Hard same!!!
I JUST started the ep and am so glad I clicked to watch after seeing your comment
I love how vulnerable Bert allows himself to be

I couldn't agree more. That is almost exactly what I was about to type.
Thank god zach stepped in brents life and thank god brent is still here with us
Thank you for sharing your darkness to help us find the light again. No ones can lead us back except those who are honest about their darkness. Thank you for sharing your hell with us so very much. God bless you and I’m sorry you had to go through it too. Thank you Zack for watching after him.
Yeah got that right- music is helping me to get out of this fent garbage literally partway through the hell that is the withdrawals..
I lost my older brother September 19th of last year. He absolutely loved Shinedown, I haven't been able to listen to them since he passed. This was the best reintroduction I could have ever asked for. Laughing through the tears. Thank you
I'm so sorry for your loss
@@TimTrOn3000 shitty comment man
Im so sorry
I’m so sorry dude. Sending all the love.
Never clicked on a video so fast, I grew up listening to Shinedown and seen them live a few years back, one of the best bands to ever do it man, genuinely. . .
Their shows hardly ever disappoint!! I've seen them 4 or 5 times and would see them 100 more if I could. I love shinedown
I've always loved music and always wanted to be around it but was always to afraid that I would not be able to be good enough to perform stuff of what I thought people deserved to get, because I always listened to music different than what my friends and people in my family did it took me a long time to just realize that's what I truly want to do, but I love all music I have a Playlist of like 7,500 songs and that's all genre's stuff I was listening to all the way back to 3yrs old.
My mom died 2 years ago. When they started playing simple man, I wept more than I have in a while. That's the song I danced with her to at my wedding. Thank you Bert and Shinedown for all you do. You're helping this broken fan heal in ways you don't know.
It started to rain (I'm crying)
dudeee, this definitely one of the best Bertcast episodes.. and especially when you guys play music together and ask Halston to join in, it must be an awesome experience for him
Crying Bert in this situation is the most relatable session of weeping I have ever experienced watching him. This is one of the most captivating couple hours I have watched in podcasting recently. Thank you all for sharing that sick experience! 🤙
@shinedown has been my motivation and inspiration for over 15 years. They've saved me from suicide many times. But as a recovering addict, this is the best interview I have ever seen. I love the real, raw stories that are so relatable because in reality, us addicts really do sit around our meetings laughing about our stories like that lol. Thank you for this ❤️🙏🏻
Comedy makes you forget, music makes you remember...
These gentlemen are legendary live
Halston is not paid enough. The sound recording of them singing and playing music is... amazing.
People who “get” music fully understand how you feel and cried with you today! Great pod with my fave band🤍
The first time the camera cuts to Bert after they started playing Second Chance. I'm still crying with you Bert, you really hit the nail on the head how you explained why you were so emotional during the song. This was the best most real moment I've ever seen on any podcast. That was the moment I think you actually realized you have made it in life Bert, it doesn't get much better than that. Having Shinedown play a private concert for you with Halston actually getting to play with his favorite band and inspiration. Congratulations Bert.
Brent and Zach are so REAL!! And Brent's story of Second Chance had me in tears. One of your best episodes, Bert!!
I’m not old enough to be crying like this watching a band perform on a podcast! But thanks guys
Brent, I will never forget an evening in Honolulu at the Pipeline club many years ago. Your dad asked my little girl to come up front in the VIP balcony and sit on the arm of the couch he was sitting on so she could have a front row seat to her favorite band. Such a class move. Keep Rockin!
Oahu 🤙🏼
really? thats awesome!
Fuck! Bert you are killing it man. Cheech and Chong on something’s burning and now a podcast with fucking Shinedown!!!? You’re the man dude.
Yeah next have ozzy so col. I cry when I laugh too.
WE love Shinedown!!! These guys understand trauma and emotion within their art.
They express homosexuality. Totally agree
Truly some of the best across any genre, I don't think I've had a Playlist without atleast 15 songs on it now days my Playlist are whole discographies.
Berts producer mentions a song he made at the end, heres the name for anyone wanting to give it a listen: "Let Me Be Lonely | Official Lyric Video | Halston Ray"
What a great show Bert - just amazing music and conversation. Thank you!
The lyrics and energy behind that song “second chance” really does pull at the heartstrings. Im with Bert everytime i hear that song it just brings the emotions out, along with many other songs Shinedown does. Great episode!
That is definitely one of those songs along with Call Me!
When I saw this posted I couldn’t wait to find a couple hours to watch.
Shinedown came out to give a bunch of rowdy Marines a break from the reality of the Iraq war and played a show for us in 2006. Some say they support the troops, Shinedown was there for the troops when it mattered most, and I will be forever grateful to them.
Holy shit...this gave me the best of chills. I really liked Shinedown before but they just made me love Shinedown. You guys aren't just great artists, you're great humans. Thank you gentlemen. 🤘🏻🇺🇲
I have been going through some shit and today has been a rough one. I have not felt myself at all today and like im stuck in someone elses body looking in. Then it pops up that Bert is premiering a podcast with Shinedown.... this is literally exactly what I needed!! I am sitting on my deck listening to this with bowl packed well Bert has a beer and listing to this beautiful podcast, bawling my eyes out. This is truly what I needed! Thank you Bert for giving me this release, what you do does matter and it does help people! Thank you Brent & Zach for all the beautiful music and this amazing acoustic set! Much love to you all! ❤
This was Special! THANK YOU GUYS
I am grown ass man in fucking tears right now... I paused and poured a drink at noon... Unreal! God that felt good!
I would be crying as well. Shinedown is the most amazing band I’ve ever heard. I’ve been so over 15 live shows, amazing every time.
This was definitely two parts of my life I thought would never cross but I’m fucking here for it!
Best interview EVER. To see them just be themselves and have a conversation with friends and we were invited along. Freakin awesome 👏
man, dude sounds so awesome when he sings
Good for Halston! I know he's a big rock fan and performer himself. Known him 20ish years
You may have lost monetization for this episode and you still posted it. This was one of the best single episodes of a podcasts from anyone. Ever.
He still makes his own ad money if it’s posted but not monetized, he just loses the TH-cam ad money. I’m guessing he makes more off the ads he reads than the ads TH-cam puts on the video.
@@kelleythenurse3283 i would imagine, shinedown allowing this. stop acting like artists dont have power.
@@JohannesWOW I have no idea why that person said it’s not monetized. You’re arguing with the wrong person. I’m just saying that there’s still value for Bert in posting it even if he doesn’t earn TH-cam money from it.
This is the coolest thing to ever happen to a podcast!!! Love these guys
Now that was a badass podcast!
One of the best pods I've ever watched. Well done, Bert. Shinedown is one of the best bands, especially live. I've seen them live 4 times in the last 5 years or so. They're phenomenal and never put on a bad show. Thank you Bert & Shinedown!🤘🖤
One of the most real conversations I have ever listened too, thank you!
Shinedown had come in and our of my life since I was 13. Whenever I'm going through it I'll be scrolling on youtube just trying to keep on going. First was Bully I screamed that deep in the woods behind my neighborhood.
One of my favorite bands who helped me through my darkest days. Thank you so much for this. ❤
Shinedown covering BM is the greatest thing I have ever witnessed on the internet! Amazing to know that one of my favorite bands ever, are fans of Shannon's work.
R.I.P. Shannon Hoon
Can we can cut and just make a video of them singing these songs. I could listen to it all day long. Dream come true there! I wouldn’t be able to stop crying. The songs are so relatable and I think gets to everyone’s heart
I have been a fan of Shinedown since the end of 2003, and I haven't come across any other band like them. None of the songs sound the same, even with the old members/new old member that were in the band. Shinedown and their music showed me how to cope with anything and everything that has come my way positive or negative. They showed me that you don't need to make music complicated in order for people to enjoy it! What matters is connecting with the message of the song that we all will go or gone through as a human. Bert this means a lot to the Shinedown fanbase! Not trying to speak for anyone else
Idk seeing bert just crying and really cherishing this moment really made me think about what its like to be able to make something of your life. Just gotta keep pushing for it. lifes always tough but i know it can be better for us all
Also bert .. you should cook for them .. love Shinedown, love you Bert and this was a very cozy interview. Brought some tears to my eyes towards the end. I balled my head off when I saw them in Fargo ❤️ I was able to release emotions I held in. Thank you for that Shinedown ❤️
Brent's voice, Zach's no nonsense insight, the topics, just a great listen.
Dude, I love shinedown!
I have been listening to shinedown for a VERY long time. It wasn't until covid and Brent started doing more podcasts and more intimate interviews that really dug deep into their songs and explained them and their meanings and made it very clear on why they hit me the way they do. This was by far my favorite interview ever. Thousands of people cried along with you guys. I cant wait until i get to see your next concert!
Brent Smith sounds like this without auto-tune. I've seen them in concert and it is rare that what you hear on an album is what they sound like in person. Guy has an incredible voice!
their voices are so fucking amazing. I dont think any other band has saved my life as many times as Shinedown has. Thank you!!!!
Holy shit! They sound amazing!
This is honestly one of the best interviews bert has given.... he actually listened and responded in time..
🎉🎉
OMG!!! I knew who this band was, never really heard them like I did today! No musician has ever done anything remotely as impressive as that. Jesus thank you
I Absolutely LOVE & ADORE Shinedown. Brent Has the Best+Greatest Voice! Great Music with REAL TRUE Meaningful lyrics. I've never heard a Shinedown song that I Didn't like/Love. I got to see them play in 2012 in Pennsylvania. I had just gotten help for my addiction a few months before seeing them perform. I'm still clean today. A lot of their songs have helped me get through many different crap times. I live in West Virginia & we have the highest # of overdose deaths.
So excited to see these 2 on your podcast….. I have seen Shinedown many times live. Brent usually gives a pretty heartfelt speech about how they thankful to the fans…. He does a great job including all. This has been an awesome podcast!!!
Say what you want about Bert, but this is one of the best podcast episodes ive ever seen. Absolutely incredible live performance.
Best podcast ever. So awesome to sit down with shinedown and talk for real and get a personal show right in your living room. I fucking love shinedown and I cant wait til they do stadium tours again so I can take my friend to see them for the first time
Watched this over my lunch hour, THANK YOU ... the tears came easily, and I sang along with my MOM and DAD in mind, Shinedown has been to Calgary many times, been to all the shows.. Bert your the best.. Stay Gold all of you!!
This is hands down my favorite episode of Bertcast ever, saying just to be a fly on the wall there is an understatement. Shinedown's music was there for me during some of my darkest days of addiction.
Podcast of the year! I was in the crowd for their Unity Music video Rockfest in Kansas City at liberty memorial. We got recognized crowd surfing a guy in a wheelchair chair by them. Will never forget that awesome moment. Such a great band and an awesome podcast!!!!!!
thanks for this , and thanks to brent for getting himself clean/sober and making the most fucking awesome music there is today! have seen them countless times here in Baltimore,Md shinedown my fave group ever!
I could sit on a couch and listen to Zach play guitar and Brent sing until I die. This is all I want ❤love you guys. You have no idea what you do for me just by doing what you love
Brent`s Voice is a treasure!
I have watched this whole podcast and I want two more hours of this plzzzzz !!
Living vicariously through you, Bert. Thank you.
I live under a rock, so I never heard of the group-but man oh man, they’re awesome. New fan!
This was the most humblest and cool interview I have seen!! Laid back and not staged. Love the candidness and raw emotion from everyone. And the singing was fucking amazing and top notch. One of my favourite videos was Simple Man.
Whoa. When I clicked on this I had no idea I would end up sitting here crying. Like, my eyes are puffy and everything. Music is the sonic manifestation of emotion. So powerful.
Thanks for being such an amazing fan 😊
This was the best podcast I've watched, hands down. @shinedown, you guys are amazing!! @bert, music can definitely be an emotional experience. I get what you were saying! Love and respect 🙏 ❤
BEST PODCAST EPISODE OF ALL TIME - NO CONTEST
The fact that they can carry such a good convo and are so smart and cool is good enough....but the fact that they went so deep and into what they went through is really awesome too, especially considering they also are world class, multi platinum, radio icon musicians. BUT its INSANE that they were willing to do a private concert for you too just to do it, and getting to hang out with them on tour!
@shinedown, Brent, so glad you got sober and well. Thank you for your honesty regarding the addictions. Your story, your recovery and your music touches the soul and inspires so many at so many levels. Your music has journeyed through so many seasons with my family. Looking forward to more amazing music!!
Here I am , At Work, Secretly watching this podcast and now people are asking why i'm crying....Worth every second. Shinedown on a Bert Podcast is something I didn't know I needed.
Amazing! I’m an even bigger fan now of Shinedown and Bert. Didn’t even realize it was 2 1/2 hours until it was over. Well done!
Never missed a Shinedown concert in St. Louis. Some of the best memories with my kids are at Shinedown concerts.
Love Shinedown so much.
Conversation among friends. Just happened to be recorded. That's great. What a singer!!!
Symptom of being human is in my head every morning for the last week after hearing in few times on the radio. Seriously amazing song be an amazing band! Great pod Bert!
I love Bert and Shinedown, love when two things I love come together for more goodness and greatness in this world. The appreciation for life, support for others, and support for our own selves is beautiful. Then get great music to boot, this made my day. Thank you Bert, Bert's Crew, the YMH group, and of course Shinedown for all the music that has touched my soul in so many ways. Peace and Love to everyone out in the world!
Saw them live way back when. Then, I had the pleasure of meeting them back in '08 when I worked with ClearChannel. The whole band are not only an awesome interview and acoustic session live, but they're also truly cool humans.
I have cried this entire pod cast “Thanks” for opening up and everyone letting the tears flow. #Shinedown4Life
What an amazing show thank yall very much.
Matt from HB again. Halston did awesome to. Had to watch it again. Great job. You got to do a bucket list thing of mine. Thanks again Shinedown.
I dont think i quit smiling the 2 1/2 hours of this podcast.. EXCELLENT!
My fave band ever. I’m crying with you Bert!! I’d die to be there. This is the best podcast ever!
If Brent and Zach gave me a private concert, I would have bawled the entire time!! Amazing podcast!
Best pcast EVER for me. I’m taking my girl to her her first concert & I’m blessed to say it’s Shinedown July 31❤❤❤
Ugh I LOVE Shinedown! I saw a Smith and Myers show back in 2020 and had so much fun!!
Best Podcast I’ve ever experienced!
I Laughed 😂 I Smiled 😃 I Cried 😢.
Bert, Brent, Zach… Thank You. Most amazing conversation to hear at the exact time I needed to hear it. Shinedown, I Absolutely Love Your Music, Bert Thank You for making this happen. So Real. You guys all rock 🤙
Loved the podcast with Shinedown. I’ve seen them 6 times & seeing them 2 more times this summer. One of them is Smith & Myers. I’m 70 years old & going to Shinedown concerts till I can’t do it anymore. Love to the guys💯❤️❤️
Am 66 yr. Old gal who loves Shinedown! So much talent!
Thanks for being such an amazing fan 😊
One of the greatest podcast EVER!!
Laughter , crying , so very entertaining… Loved this 💜💜
Shinedown is one of my favorite bands! Dancing to their acoustic version of Simple Man with my mom at my wedding is one of my best memories!
Like others, I haven't clicked on a suggested video SO FAST. I've been a massive Shinedown fan for several years. Their songs got me through some of my darkest times. Also, incredibly envious of Austin who got to play with them!!!
Brent’s voice is unparalleled. My goodness!
This is MY FAVORITE interview! Loved EVERY moment of this! ❤️
@shinedown is one of my favorite bands of all time! They are such beautiful, humble guys!
I saw @shinedown at the Bluebird Theater in Denver several years ago. I had a blast and this podcast was great as well.
Music always hits me in the feels. It's nice to see the softer side of Bert, too.
Oh my god!!! Shinedown is my favorite band!! I know every song and album. Seen them 8 times! Bert is one of my favorite comedians. This is an insane podcast!! Holy shit!
Brent is my spirit animal.
