Saw this many moons ago. The realization of how insignificance in the grand scheme of the cosmos is both humbling and terrifyingly sobering.

I came here today to just mention again what an excellent special this was when originally presented on PBS TV Across the Nation in 1998.
It's still a favorite of many of us who are astronomy teachers, because we realize the great presentation that Tim Ferris has made here for nearly two hours. There's something to learn from in this rich historical documentary for everyone and parts of it are truly entertaining. Toward the last few minutes, when the famous physicist Freeman Dyson speaks, is so endearing. [Dyson just passed away yesterday on February 27th, 2020.]
I played it for my astronomy students when I taught astronomy at a local University here in Portland Oregon in 2004.
I returned today to rewrite my comment because I tried to copy my older comment and accidentally deleted it.
I'm finding now as the famous astronomy magazine Sky & Telescope has announced that they will publish my astronomy art, a large pastel sketch of the Moon showing its detailed geological colors, in their May 2020 issue, and that this great documentary was an impetus for me to start producing serious technical astronomy art about 20 years ago.

In 2018, this is STILL the best documentary I've seen on life beyond earth. This dude nails it on all points.

Timothy Ferris wrote and narrated this documentary. He contends that communication is more effective than exploration in our search for extraterrestrial life. Interstellar travel involves hopelessly vast distances. Radio signals, however, travel at the speed of light. Radio telescopes can be used to detect any advanced civilization that might be broadcasting. Ferris introduces SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) and dedicates his show to Carl Sagan. Ferris recognizes that life requires an energy source (sun), water and organic (carbon-based) compounds.

In an infinite number of universes it is to be expected that one of them will produce creatures like humans.

The first sentence is half/way correct, but the next one makes universe size jump to eons later. Where's the big bang and also the idea that there are other universes: in the same configuration as our force that unifies all elements. This narrative is most parochial.

Where will you go when you die?
Not your body, but you the person, your spirit. There is a life after death, and you will spend it either in Heaven or hell, and where you go all comes down to one thing. One choice. Will you make Jesus Lord of your life?
Salvation comes only through Him. He's the only way to a relationship with God (John 14:6). You can have that by praying something like "Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, that You died on the cross for me and then rose from the dead. I repent of my sins. Come into my life, change me and help me to live for You."
You should read your Bible and ask God to help you understand it and how to apply it to everyday life.
Romans 10:09 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father, but by Me.
Revelation 20:15 And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Yes I agree but I have never met not one person who repented and turned completely from sin and became a new creation? Please explain

There is no separate spirit. In the bible is written that body + Gods breath = soul (human). In the moment of death body "goes " back to dirt and the breath of God goes back to him. So stop scaring people. You and your kind are like a virus. You are seeking for weak people and than you attack with fear mongering and by trying to make feel people guilty.
