Amazing video! The only one I could find that I trust for fridge recovery. What type of hose is the second yellow one you connected from the recovery machine to the tank?
Good video but I might have to disagree with your timing on opening the 3-way valve. You need to cut power between 6 and 12 seconds, not wait for 12 seconds. Here is a direct quote from my service manual: "3-24 CAUTION : Sealed System Repair Before making a sealed system repair : Start with the power cord unplugged from the outlet. Plug in the power cord and between 6 and 12 seconds after it has been pugged in, unplug it from the power source. this will allow both sides of the 3 way valve to be opened to allow for proper evacuation." Just an FYI for anyone attempting this repair.
Yes you shluld get a license but in some states it is not necessary .. as far as lg refer to the units user manual in the warranty section everything is layed out as far as what's covered and not.
Upon start up it in the home position (1 of 3 positions) after that it may switch to the freezer evaporator (2nd position) or ff evap (3rd position) it cycles through all 3 positions various times during operation

What if there was no aftermarket drier installed? Can u recover freon just from the low side or do we have to tap in to both high and low sides?
Looking at starting my own thing I am hvac certified. do you need license for your business or how do you get lg to warranty there compressor
