Nostalgia kinda feels like she does not fit in right now with the kinda layout of the theme, we got like 4 new emotions who are looking towards the future of more complex and complicated emotions, then you got Nostalgia who remembers the old times when emotions were simpler and not complex. I can't really see Nostalgia teaming up with these complex forward focused emotions, she feels more like she'd side with the core five for they were the ones that ran the emotions for most the life, they would be the ones Nostalgia would have more respect and loyalty towards, but they are showing Nostalgia siding with emotions that want nothing to do with the past.
I respectfully disagree. Nostalgia is such a powerful emotion. I think the commentary explained it quite well.
@@kellyflanagan3537 Well yes Nostalgia is a strong emotion, but you have to consider what causes Nostalgia. Nostalgia is recalling memories of the past, memories of a simpler time.
Now we have Nostalgia a simple strong emotion thats based on the past memories and feelings... siding with four rebellious and complicated emotions that are looking forward instead of backwards.
If anything Nostalgia to me would side with the core five more than the new four, because up until puberty the vast majority of the past that Nostalgia will pull from are based on the core five's decisions, but the trailers show Nostalgia teaming up with Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment and Ennui.
They portrayed Nostalgia's first lines being something that literally happened just seconds after she walked in, they are portraying her more with short term Nostalgia for she is recalling stuff thats literally just happened, stuff thats kinda not that important for its barely new enough for it to matter. Nostalgia should be talking about stuff from Riley's childhood for thats more Nostalgic than something five seconds ago.
It feels she is more closer to Jamais Vu which is the act of experiencing something new, but you actually did experience it once before and forgot.
Its the opposite of Deja Vu which is experience something you recall doing when you've actually never did in person.
Course we've only got to experience her saying one line so far though.
@@somebodykares1 She only got like 10 seconds of screen time, we know nothing about her nor if she's really "siding" with them. She's got there with them, it doesn't mean nothing. Actually, I believe you just unpurposely figured out the twist that'll happen at the end of the movie: Nostalgia will be the emotion that'll help sort everything out. Since she's a new feeling that values the past she's gonna be the perfect bridge between the new and old emotions. Maybe that's why they're making her look like she's not that important (10 seconds appearance), to surprise us.
@@swiflte There was another short ad commercial of her standing with the other four as they talked about how Riley needs more complex emotions now that she is a teen, and the Nostalgia is not in the bottled like the other five despite the core five containing 99% of the emotional memories that Nostalgia would draw from at the current age of the story.
If anything they kinda already shown Nostalgia in aspect in the first movie, Riley's buss scene when Sadness returned the Core Memories and had that hyper emotional moment recalling her core memories, thats Nostalgia. To me Nostalgia would just be the one that decides Core Memories going forward.
Its very possible she could be the savior of the old despite being one of the newer while hopefully being a good message on how nostalgia effects people, trailers tho make her feel her role is minor
ngl i thought the process of turning happy memories sad in the first movie was representative of nostalgia
after watching the movie, i now believe that she's gonna be important in Inside Out 3, when Riley is a fully grown adult, as they kinda foreshadowed it when they made a joke saying " You still have 10 years, 2 weddings, and a graduation til we need you, Nostalgia".

So true - the older we get, the more we long for the good old days when life was more carefree and simpler. There's no doubt that Nostalgia is a necessary emotion in this movie, since her purpose is to keep Riley sane as she explores new environments and goes thru constant changes in her life. However, dwelling on childhood memories for too long can impede her from making new friends and living in the present.

4:24 yeah my brain likes to try to go back as time goes forward and there is kinda a limit of how far can you try to make the world feel like it used too cuz it becomes more and more difficult the further back you try to go and also my brain also wants it too not be exactly like the past but like the past but better
first time i had Nostalgia was like when i was 9 thats about when i started to have Nostalgia. I miss old ROBLOX. (mice on venus plays) everyone says they miss old ROBLOX and that it was better well um was it actualy better or is it just nostalgia well the ui was better and ROBLOX used to have copyright music and OOF sound and get away with it until like 2021 or 2022 when ROBLOX finaly got sued well actualy ROBLOX did get sued back in 2015 or 2016 or 2017 but it wasnt as bad ROBLOX replaced copyright music with copyright free music but there was still copyright music and stuff and some stuff but then in like 2021 or 2022 ROBLOX took it even more serious and went even more strict making it so audio longer then like 6 or 7 seconds is now private and no longer public and only official ROBLOX music can be pubic but what about games well now there are more but the older ones have broken cuz of ROBLOX updates and broken music cuz of copyright lawsuit also ROBLOX removed the OOF sound you can still bring it back cuz character sounds are local instead of from ROBLOX servers so you can replace the files but what about the front page games ROBLOX games that shows at the ROBLOX discover page tbh back then it was a bit better it seems way better cuz of nostalgia but actualy the quality wasnt really good and it was mostly minigame games roleplay games and other but what about story games? those got popular and went to the front page around 2017 to 2021 and story games are my favorite genre. also im talking about 2015 to 2020 when ROBLOX got popular and well its not really old ROBLOX but in this context old ROBLOX is 2015 to 2020 even tho its kinda more 2007 to 2015 anyways um ROBLOX now well most of the story games are still playable wait what about pokémon brickbronze? welli consider that a story game and its one of the more earlier story games but um anyways ROBLOX now most of the story games are still playable but a few that have a minimum player count might not be cuz story games died they still are popular but not as popular and there are still new story games like for example npcs arer becomming smart well thats not relaly a story game but it kinda is but well it has more differeent paths you can take compared to like break in but uh now ROBLOX the front page is mostly just simulators BORING SIMULATORS THAT WANT ALL YOUR MONEY AND TRICK KIDS INTO GIVING EM MONEY AND ALSO THERS OBBY BUT GAMES sure i like obbys especialy story obbys kinda well there arnt really any story obbys but it would be REALY COOL but um obby but games are usualy easy and boring so yeah i determine old ROBLOX (2015 to 2020) was better and its not nostalgia
