I’m in Jacksonville, Florida and had to work until 10:00pm. I was terrified to drive home but was mandatory to work this afternoon - at the mail processing plant. The mail means more than the employees lives !!!!

As a 1st responder, I believe that if you are under mandatory evacuation orders and you decide to stay, then you must be charged for your rescue. Not unlike going hiking unprepared and need of rescue, there must be some form of discipline. Don't be so selfish that you place other people's lives in danger.

The U.S. needs to spend money investing in underground power lines. How much money is spent with lineman rehanging all those downed power lines after tornadoes and hurricanes? Underground power lines are the only sensible option in areas that are prone to natural disasters.
you do realize that the ground syphons off the electricity flowing through the lines underground right? you cant run power very far like that.......

If you're looking to work for Progressive (their career ad is in the middle of this video) and stay at home, better know Spanish. They have no such jobs for English-only speakers. That's language discrimination, because as hard as some of us have tried to learn Spanish or other second languages, it's like there's some gene required for that which we don't have or something. I know I've tried over and over and just don't seem to pick that or other second languages up. CBS, please stop doing business with Progressive until they add some remote call center jobs for people who only speak English. They also need to add some jobs for people who only speak Spanish, Japanese, French, German, and a few others too. When they require more than one language of a person, they are discriminating against those of us who are unable to learn more than one language.
Maybe they don't need anybody that is English speaking only.

AM update its more than 3 died in tornadoes, updated to at least a dozen, maybe many more. They are trying to figure out
who may of survived before releasing actual numbers. St Lucie and Ft Myers both have over 100 houses each
with houses gone. At least 45 tornadoes touched down in FL. A all time record for FL.
The logical conclusion that is obvious is the US needs to nationalize health and property insurance and the social relation of private industry of health and property insurance be a thing of the past. Might be able to keep a few of the insurance companies alive but I would not advise it. You’ll only be dealing with them again as their only purpose is to make money and not spent it on recoveries they cannot afford given their frequency. But this would never happen in the US with a Congress that is headed by a person who believes it is all in God’s hands and does not push bills forward for a vote to outlaw privatization in this area of the economy to create a national health and property insurance plan. Americans will have to start by removing Johnson from his seat in Congress to effect a modification of health and property insurance. The little man with glasses and bible blocks the road of social progress for millions of people in a land that can easily afford the progress.
