I'm a sixty year old black man. I used to work at Walmart part time in the 90s . And my co-worker in automotive where I worked used to play this song on our radio like alllllllll the time . And after I awhile I fell in love with this song ! I actually purchased it . 🤦🙂
I absolutely LOVE David Ball n this song! I listen to it over n over! LMBO. Who Don't love him n it?? Wanna hear real hardcore country, David Ball is it... Can't get enough of his voice! WoooHooo!
After hearing of Joe Diffie's death it made me think about the music that was coming out during his early days. One singer I got a chance to meet a couple of times was David Ball. I got a opportunity to meet David in Nashville when Thinking Problem was just coming out. David got a kick out of the Mayberry T-shirt I had on. Later on I had entered a song writing contest in my home state of NC. I happen to place in the top 10 and got a chance to perform with another act to open up for David. After David's show I got a chance to speak with him again. Apparently the Mayberry t-shirt was a hit because he remembered it lol. Sadly another singer got more pr from the record label than David back in those days. Thanks David for the real country music you write and record. 12/12/84 was always one of my favorites.
It's amazing that who we used to call new modern country singers have now become legends . Time flies . I was a kid during the early 90s and all the big names were new comers. David ball, mcgraw, diffiie, singletary, tritt, and so on. It wasn't until dayrle singletary suddenly died that it dawned on me " these guys are now legends and we need to give them the credit they deserve ". Darle Singletary is first one of the 90s singers that it broke my heart when he died . Then joe diffie that one hurt real bad. We have lost all the old legends and now we are losing the new legends . Who's gonna fill their shoes ?? Nobody . Country ain't country no more
@@JohnnyRebKy Actually I opened a show back in the 90's for David Ball. Seems the newer generation now is more accepting of what they consider country.
@@comestayawhilewithl5696 yea this country rap stuff makes me sick. But somebody is buying it a guess . Anyhow I met David ball in bowling green kentucky years ago. He played a small show in a popular bar here. He a classy and humble guy 👍
I was brought up with rock and roll music from the 50's and 60's but REAL country songs like this gem keep me rockin', too! Thanks for this song and memories, David!
Yep. This is a REAL, traditional country song being enhanced by modern recording equipment and techniques. I love the twang of the Tele also. Sounds like they compressed it a bit to make it ring out more.
I actually, met David Ball in Austin,TX...back in the late 80's at Aqua Fest.. I sat on his lap, took a pic, got an autograph for my dog, Pierre. I still have the pic, Pierre has since passed on, how I miss those days!
I mean I heard a song many of times but never heard his name before that goes to show you how important it is to get a name that stands out. David Ball?? I don't think so. Don't even sound country.
I remember when this song hit the radio. CMT didn't have a video of it, you couldn't find it in the records in the stores. It was just a big mystery as to who this guy was and everyone wanted to know what he looked like!? Not until the song hit it big did they finally release a video of it on CMT and I know....well for myself at least....no one was disappointed! I thought how cute he was with those small dimples and cute smile! I bought the record....yes a record....just as soon as it came available. He hit the big times with this one song and from there I think most loved everything he did from "Look What Followed Me Home" to "When The Thought Of You Catches Up With Me" and a few years later with the beautiful, so meaningful ballad "Private Malone" Wish he had done more! Love you and thank you for the memories, David Ball!!!
I don't normally listen to Country Music. When I first heard this song back in 1994 it spoke to my heart and I fell in love with it. God Bless You David Ball.❤
David Ball is one of the least recognized greats. He sang old rodeo songs in small bars for years with hundreds of fans before, "thinking Problem", finally came along. Great singer! ❤
Just found you mr. Ball. With the right songs you would have been as popular as George Strait. I'm sure you're happy with where you're at you're very talented

Would love to wake up in the morning and be back in the early 90's.
Absolutely love this song
Susan Me too. It never sounds old to me. Great song and singer.
Way underrated singer. Loved David Ball!
One reason for that was that name didn't have a ring to it. That's very important in showbiz.

One of the best, most don’t come close to David Ball!!!
I heard this on 103.5FM Sacramento thank God I have been introduced to real country music, unlike most of the new mainstream artists!
I've waited so long for true country music to come back to Sac. I like 103.5.
You heard this recently? Cheers to that station lol
Genuine country like this song still beats all, why it speaks to my inner soul I can't explain.
It's hard to believe that country music has changed so much they never play songs like this anymore
It's all the moneyyyyyyy. All genres have sold out, just like the devil wants.

What a song and great voice. Wow love it
I used to listen to this son on the Aviano US air base radio in my hometown in northern Italy where I was born and raised. Angela Umbria Italy
Lyrics
Yes, I admit I've got a thinkin' problem
She's always on my mind
Her memory goes round and round
I've tried to quit a thousand times
Yes, I admit I've got a thinkin' problem
Fill the glass up to the top
I'll start with lovin' her
But I don't know when to stop
I wake up and right away
Her name is on my lips
Once the memories start to flow
I can't stop with just one sip
Yes, I admit I've got a thinkin' problem
She's always on my mind
Her memory goes round and round
I've tried to quit a thousand times
Yes, I admit I've got a thinkin' problem
Fill the glass up to the top
I'll start with lovin' her
But I don't know when to stop
I keep on remembering
How good it used to be
Gettin' stoned all alone
On my favorite memory
Yes, I admit I've got a thinkin' problem
She's always on my mind
Her memory goes round and round
I've tried to quit a thousand times
Yes, I admit I've got a thinkin' problem
Fill the glass up to the top
I'll start with lovin' her
But I don't know when to stop
I'll start with lovin' you
But I don't know when to stop
