    One of my all-time favorite games, and the first game I ever rolled the score on. Thank you so much for showcasing this awesome pin.

    I first played this game when it was just a day old, which was mid October of 1987. The game was at an indoor miniature golf course, and I played it almost all the time when I was there (was very good at it) until the manager of the business decided to change vendors for the arcade games, and it wasn't until a year later when the other vendor finally decided to have the Dungeons & Dragons game at the location. At times I would get the bonus all the way up to the top and also get it to the multiple of 5 x (That is when both the 2 x and the 3 x were lit at the same time) and get multi-ball many times, and also get high score.

      @@LyonsArcade Some of the best fantasy films were made in the 1980s starting with Flash Gordon (1980), Dragonslayer (1981), Time Bandits (1981), Excalibur (1981), and, of course, the Dungeons&Dragons animated TV series and tons of fantasy-inspired videogames like Gauntlet, Venture, Gateway to Apshai, and let's not forget The Legend of Zelda!
      From the beginning, the 1980s was a VERY good era for fantasy!

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Austin Becker these are Bally 6803 games when the battery dies on the cpu it corrupts the memory, so you have to go into the settings and set it to be 1 credit for 1 quarter again, its prob corrupted and can’t understand what it’s set on . It tells you in the manual how to get into settings

    Hello, I am supposed to be picking a D&D pinball machine up this weekend. When testing it what are things i should look for to make sure it is in the proper working condition? Also, how do you know when you've beaten the dragon and got the treasure? I mean, is there an indicator that you have "won"?
    thank you

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Darrin S the main thing is anything electronic can be fixed, anything with art on it can't be replaced.... so mainly just make sure the play field isn't so worn that it is something you can't live with. I havent played it in awhile so I don't remember what happens when you beat the dragon unfortunately... but I believe you just keep going and just get the points...

      Hey, i bought the game a few months ago. I notice on this video at about the 22:00 min mark you somehow pass the ball behind the left flipper (just shortly after losing multiball). There is supposed to be a one way gate on both flippers that won't allow that to happen.
      This is quite a fun game, but good luck ever making the "Mystic Million" shot as when the ball comes off the wire trial it hits the metal wall that is just above the upper right flipper and it causes it to bounce away from the flipper 95% of the time. An unfortunate game design flaw should've used a different material to prevent such bounces. All in All a really fun game even if the rule set isn't exactly the deepest. The theme, artwork and music are great and as you mentioned it has a lot of things going on that you can't see by simply looking at the playfield. Plus love hitting the 4 thumper bumpers and watching the ball go all crazy :)
      Edit: looks like the owner of the machine I bought installed the gates by the flippers as I bet they got tired of losing the ball that way, now I have a dilemma do I leave them there and make the game a little more fun as it will prevent accidentally flipping the ball behind the flippers or do I remove them and have the game back to stock design... :-/

      @@robj5752 It has wavetable sound. The sound is generated in a 68000 CPU on the sound board and played back through an 8-bit DAC- yes, a 68000 just for sound. They were doing this long before Williams had their DCS Sound System.

    Thanks.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it's likely worth that, the price just keeps going through the roof on them. Even broke they're worth nearly what they're worth working, we sold ours for 2,000 USD after we fixed it up. If it's not your favorite machine though or not one you're really into I wouldnt' buy it.

      Has a child in loved dungeons and dragons cartoon and my first time playing A pinball machine was dungeons and dragons so when I seen the advertiser selling it, I decided to make an offer and he accepted it. I just don't know how much it'll cost to restore it but I'm excited. I've watched your video lastnight for the first time and love it,this video was the reason why I'm purchasing it.Yes I'm now a subscriber to your channel.

      Joe's Classic Video Games .How much did it cost for a restore? If I need a full restore can you help me out with parts ?. Sorry for the Q&A.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Cul! We don't do restores ourself, we just fix the games we buy (there's only two of us!) so I couldn't give you a price, if you need parts feel free to give us a shout but we don't sell or really have any parts, we just track them down as we need them. The good thing about this particular game (and most pinball machines) is they remake all of the gameboards, so worst case scenario you can buy NEW boards and have it up and running. They're not too tough to work on, just takes a lot of tinkering with every little thing, you basically have to 'touch' every part of the game (replace each bulb, adjust each switch, clean each assembly, etc.) Good luck!
