I loved nursing school. I don't understand how people study thru the holidays. I studied but also took my time off. Every Friday was my day to go out no matter what... Never missed a Friday..but it was just to the movies..nothing crazy lol
In school right now is it weird that this almost made me cry? This IS going to be my career so it does mean alot. trials and tribulations. We GOT THIS!!! HANDS UP.

Family should never come second, I missed my uncles bday and my grandmas bday cause I had to study and they never had another bday again. @Cindy Avalos thank you! i AM currently stressed out while in my 2nd eyar in nursing school and missed one of my little brothers birthday because of studying... I totally agree

You have to almost go into auto pilot and just do the work and study, while keeping your head down and not getting on the radar of the faculty as a "failing student" it is 100% worth it though, by the way Nurse Mendoza I've watched your videos as a Pre-Nursing Student, and now as an almost graduate nurse, and you have been accurate about 98% of the time lol, thanks for all your encouraging words.
Oh my goodness!! GREAT information!! I am in a nursing program and believe it or not...your vid was part of our PRE semester assignment!! This was AWESOME! About to subscribe...NOW!
Would have to disagree on the no life thing. I'm in a 15 month accelerated program and I still have time to relax and spend time on family. It's just time management and being organized. Hi Nurse Mendoza, just wanted give you mad props for putting this video together. Everything you said is what I am going through. I am half why done my program. I appreciate the reminder of what it takes to be a nurse. Eat, breath, sleep, poop aha! and your shout out to GOD was awesome! I was baptized the day before I started my program and truly God has never failed me. Thank you for the words of encouragement. Your channel is a blessing to all subscribers. Thank you! Michael
@ NurseMendoza: You, my friend, are AMAZING! Your happy energy, positivity, good advice really encourages me and motivates me to pursue nursing one more time. Long story short, I got into the NProgram 10 years, failed the very first class and left the major entirely. After viewing your videos, I am determined more than ever to pursue this wonderful career again. I appreciate the bible verse you used, "I can do ALL things through Christ, who strengthens me." We need more people like you in this world. God Bless You! :)
THANK YOU. You said it perfectly. About to start my fourth semester of nursing school and I have had to put so many things on the back burner, including my hubby. It's so difficult, but you have reminded me that it will be worth it in the end!
Faithie Fraley Yeah UTA is competitive af though since it's the 3rd best nursing program in the country, so I'm trying to see if fitness modeling can take off for me lol
So inspiring, and I love that you pull your strength from the Lord. As a full-time single mom and nursing student, this gives me hope that I will one day graduate and all my sacrifices will be with it. Thank you!
I just completed my 2nd year fall semester and I can safely say that I haven’t had a love/sex life since I’ve started. There are plenty opportunities that I have but I just wouldn’t be able to put my best foot forward in a relationship for someone who deserves my time. It sucks but I’m always thinking about the end result and how awesome it will be to have my bachelors and license. I’ll have plenty of time to date properly when I’m done focusing so hard. :)
I'm an RN, BSN. Nursing school was the hardest thing I ever did. I worked full time & went to school full time. Just stay focused, pray, and study. You guys will make it :) There is life after nursing school, I promise
Man I'm feeling you on this. Even though I am in Respiratory Therapy school...it is so accelerated and having a life wasn't an option. The good thing is I am done in 2 months. Thank you for the good videos.
I think even if I wasn't going to school for nursing I'd still check your uploads out on the regular. Very inspiring and motivational for all walks of life. Keep it coming!
I just wanna say thank you sooooo much! when i get so stressed and overwhelmed with nursing school i come and watch your videos :) helps to see someone went thru the same thing as me.
I could not wait to show my daughter your videos. She is going into nursing and I tried to explain to her how she will have to put everything to the side to focus on her goal. I have talked to her before, but you know how kids will listen to a stranger before their parents. Thank u so much for explaining what I couldn't. GOD bless and thanks for your insight. Selena
I just checked my school email and saw I got accepted into nursing school two hours ago, and from what I hear it's brutal. Thanks for the video, really uplifting
Wow, awesome! And love that you put the Bible verse in. I am a 31 year old, single mom, and I have always wanted to be a nurse, I've been praying about whether I should apply for Nursing school and this was a encouraging video. Thanks!
Thank you so much! I knew the answer deep down but listening to you really made me realize I am doing the right thing. The insanity is just a temporary inconvenience and will all be worth it in the end.
2 semesters left for my BSN...lost friends & have zero social life, but every RN i've met tells me it's worth it & to just keep going...i'm so friggin' exhausted lol
Love this! I am in my last semester of nursing school and my teacher played your video in our class! I posted some simple tips for success in nursing school that I thought were helpful. I completely agree you have no life!! Congrats on being an RN!!
Thank you for the encouragement! I start nursing school tomorrow and I have been freaking out already. I have to keep in mind it will be worth it for my family in the end. You said my favorite bible verse that keeps me going and that is where I find my strength. I couldn't have made it into the nursing program without my heavenly father! :)
I'm on track for nursing now. Test for my program in September. I am going to be keeping your videos qued and ready when I'm not sure I can do it. You are a motivator and I hope to keep my enthusiasm as well as you seem to have. Starting college at age 36 is a challenge on its own, staying positive can only be by God. Bless you and your life.
Oh my - this is EXACTLY true Mister! I am glad I got a day of 1st semester clinical with your guidance because having someone who has survived what I'm going through now and remembers what it was like is very valuable. :) Thanks for the heads up on the Potassium protocol; made me look pretty smart in the meeting afterwards last week.
I love this video, you took the words out of my mouth. It makes life so much easier to go through nursing school knowing I'm blessed to have a family, a partner and friends who support me on my way to become an RN. I also have my moments where I miss out on events and going out enjoying myself but I don't let it get to me because I know once I have my degree and imagining loved ones proud once its all over, it makes every minute worth it. Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work
This is real inspirational i am headed to the 1 year accelerated Nursing program......... it's going to be the best move i make for myself and change . I do worry about what missing out on social events as you stated but like you said after you finish this you can basically do anything you want in life and provide better for yourself and a family. I want to touch lives as well.
thank you for psoting this. amazing. i am a nursing student and it feels like im the only one that understands,, . thank you so much for expressing this.
I respect you and this video very much! Im in my second year of nursing Associates program, and over the semesters ive lost a couple of friends. They simply did not understand :/ and it sucks. Nursing indeed comes first especially when were trying to get our license in our hands.
Thanks for the shout out Nurse Mendoza!!! As a first semester nursing student I need all the motivation I can get! I want to thank you for all your great videos, they have really helped :) Let me know when you are in town again maybe we can get lunch :) -Carolina
Thank you so much for you advise and experience! I am not even in the program yet but have to spend hours studying each day and I have given up all of that like you said. You really truly find our whose there for you in the end. Also when you do get to spend time with family you don't take it for granted as much anymore. Thank you again! It's helping me have a heads up :)
Nice video man. When I first saw the title of the video I thought you would explain not to go into to nursing but I kept watching and you sound happy talking about nursing and how it is something that has to be first above all things and I feel motivated by the things you said.
You are awesome. I am a 33 year old male in Michigan. For the last 8 years I have been a insurance agent, I could not take it any more. I just started a CNA class then I plan on enrolling in a associate nursing program. Your attitude is so upbeat its great.
Finishing my first semester as a second year nursing student, and it feels like an eternity!!!! I'm dying to get some rest during my vacations(in about 5 weeks) and travel for a while. I love your videos, they're really helpful and inspiring! Please make a video about OR nursing.
@NurseMendoza I just want to say thank you for the videos! Seriously, I have two more years to go to complete my BSN program an although I never forget how much I want this and the intangible moments ill experience once I do have my license its tough to keep at it sometimes and stay motivated. Your videos are always extremely helpful and keep me pushing! As a future male nurse, Thank you!!
You completely ROCK, dude!! On my second degree with a family and a husband I still love. Family doesn't understand how HARD this is, especially at my age. Still have loans from becoming a teacher.......very overwhelming, BUT I am PRINTING your phrases and putting them all over my house!!! PHIL 4:13, and "I will EAT, BREATHE, POOP nursing! Family and friends (and laundry) will have to wait! I am an optimist, like you and Winston Churchill! Thanks so much, God bless!!!
I love your videos, man! Nursing school for me personally has gotten easier as it's gone along, but it was mostly because at the beginning of classes I expected myself to be perfect and got really stressed out. I learned that tests aren't everything; you need to be able to apply the knowledge that's given to you and study for every test like it's the biggest one of your life. Don't psyche yourself out, though.
Great video! Im a prenursing student, and a mom of twins. It always feels as though the kids come second. And they do. It makes me feel terrible but i know that this is all for them!
Man thank you for this! I’m currently enrolled in ADN program and in my 2nd semester as a full time student and working in the weekends as a dialysis pct. Besides working, all I literally do is study, study, study! It’s kinda hard sometimes when your co-workers invite you to go out and party, but you say no because you know better. It’s depressing sometimes not being able to party haha! But thank you for reminding us that we’re not alone, and to basically keep our eyes on the prize and not get distracted! Awesome video man!
Dude, thank you for this video. For me, this was the truth and you got my mind right for nursing school. But the payoff for nursing school taking over is worth it !!! In the end, we pass our exit exam, the NCLEX & understand what we need to transition to being new nurses.
Ahh, so encouraging to see this video. Plus you quoted my favorite bible verse Phil. 4:13! Love your inspiration and push for all of the new nursing students and grads.
That was a very realistic and informative video! I am a second year nursing student and am studying med-surg and peds. Compared to first year I actually feel more confident, because I now know what to expect, but i know it will get more difficult, but i can do this! Thanks for the inspirational words! :)
You are so correct. Going into my second year of nursing school officially as of today. You have no life. If you are going to be a serious student things have got to be put on the side. Especially if you have to also maintain a full time job to survive like I'm doing. Full time work and full time school = double no life. Good luck everyone!
Thank you for this awesome encouraging video! I am in my first week on NP1 and I am so excited and nervous. I have already accepted the fact that I am basically "out of commission" for the next 2 years, but like you said, it will all be worth it when I have my RN license in my hand. Lucky for me, I have an amazing supportive husband. God bless!!! Now to find your blog...
This is one of my favorite videos of yours that I've watched so far. You're so motivating and inspirational. I'm so nervous for nursing school but I'm gonna keep up with your channel cuz it really is so helpful. Thank you!
As a single mom I can't put my fam second but I know what you mean. Going for CRNA starting from the beginning and starting pre-reqs for aa degree this summer. Thanks for keeping it real.
Edwiin here, man I am or was a soccer player if or my university until my coach said edwiin you're missing too many practices. He understood what it took to be a nursing student. I was the only nursing major in the team. It hurt me to have to make the choice to leave the team and focus on my degree. Coming from a Mexican American familia made it even worse to give up soccer! So I like to watch your videos and they get me back on track emotionally . I'm pumped and ready to get my degree man!!
Just came across your videos and let me just say you do a great job!! I am approaching my third year as an RN and I still remember not having a life as a student, the sacrifice was great, but so was the feeling of obtaining my license...Keep doing what ur doing.
First off I love when you say "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", so very very true. Second I really like our Bob Marley posters in the background. And last I really like what you said about having kids while in the program. I'm currently in an LPN program and I have a 13 and 2 yr old. I feel guilty sometimes when I have so much reading and studying to do cuz it takes away a lot of time from them. I try to remind myself that this all for them but its still a struggle.
3 weeks into nursing school! im tired. i barely eat or sleep. im typing w one hand rn bc my left wrist took a tingly, numb, swollen shit from all the typing i do for notes/modules/videos/assessments. ive seen my family maybe once or twice. i have seen a small number of my friends once. ive got 2 midterms, validations, returns, and case studies all due next wk. thx for this vid!
This is great 5 minutes motivation. Thanks! I'm about to start my 3rd semester of the BSN and super nervous... Going to take Family and Adult 2. But i like how you throw in the verse at the end. I'm trying not to forget who i'm doing this for!
I really like your videos. I am surprised this video is already 3 years. I am still starting to do research on nursing. and your videos are great ! This is what i need
Thank you for the videos that you post! I'm currently working on my pre-reqs for the nursing program, and you inspire me so much to keep going for my goal. Thank you again!
Thank you for your videos. They have helped motivate me and inspire me. I am going for my interview to get into nursing school soon. I'm actually doing an internal transfer. Switching from a Bcom degree in administration public management and international relations to nursing. Total opposites but nursing has always been my first choice and I now get a second chance to realise my dream and I have been discouriged many times and a few of those times your videos have helped me. Thank you.
Hey man I just wanted to say thanks! I love all your videos and they have really helped me out and gave me motivation I thought I never had! I'm 18 and plan on becoming an RN but I'm still in HS. Its a good feeling being a male in this field and I feel lucky for your videos. So thankyou and keep up the good work!
Thank you for this video. I am almost half way through my first semester (clinicals start in a few weeks...ahhh!), and this video definitely lifted my spirits a little. Keep it up :-)
I'm 18 and God willing, I will be graduating in a month and a half from an LPN program. Nursing school is not for the weak. Plain and simple. It's challenging and it makes you reevaluate your life choices, but it's possible. If you want it bad enough, you'll make it happen. I cried for two weeks straight at the beginning of my program and my hair has fallen out due to stress (all jokes aside, it's terrifying), but I'm making it. God is too good.
Thank you very much for this video. It keeps me motivated because I also have a child and she's 2! I was just so worried on how I was going to do it, but at the end it's all worth it!
Hey thanks for the reply man! My whole class watches your channel! I'm just starting my second semester and a week into an OB Peds clinical rotation. I'm still feel lost (sometimes) LOL, But damn I'm really starting to love nursing! Keep up the videos!
It's true I'm a mom of 3 and I explained to them I'm doing this for US and our future. I don't see them much now but as soon as I'm done it will be different. First semester was very hard for me, because learning how to juggle everything was no joke... You get a routine down that's half the battle.. If I can do it ,a single mother with 3 kids anyone can... Just depends how bad you want it
This made my day! I love this video. I have a 11 months old and she's going into daycare (thank god my mom woks at one) but yeah I'm start pre - nursing school . And I know I'm going to miss her so much while I'm at school all the time and studying. But that day when I can reach in my pocket and take her to Disney land is my goal! This is inspiring ! Thanks for posting!
I'm so glad I found your channel!!! Thank you for the reassurance and for the positivity. Great to see male nurses out there. And yes! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Amen brotha!
Majority of my classmates are in their 30's, don't let failure be in your thoughts. As Edgar says, succeeding in this is detrimental to your future, so put everything you have into it and you should be fine.
Dang dude you're vids are awesome! Great motivation that I needed for my 2nd sem! I'm on the edge of the failing point but still manage to pull through! And all I had to look up to before was my mom and aunts, all females! Now there's you, a young male nurse I can relate to! Thanks! Just like you said "I can do all things through christ" Philippians 4:13
I loved nursing school. I don't understand how people study thru the holidays. I studied but also took my time off. Every Friday was my day to go out no matter what... Never missed a Friday..but it was just to the movies..nothing crazy lol
That’s the best way to give yourself some freedom when you’re in nursing school.
''you're gonna eat, live, breathe, poop nursing'' this is way too real, even when you have some free time you talk about nursing
It's HARDCORE
Accurate 💯%
I think i have watched this video over 5 times over the course of this year.
In school right now is it weird that this almost made me cry? This IS going to be my career so it does mean alot. trials and tribulations. We GOT THIS!!! HANDS UP.
YESSSSSSSSS!!!! I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME!!!! AMEN!!!
PRAISEEEE lol
Me too
its true...
just hangout with family 1 times in month...
boyfriend cheated on me....
weight .loss......15kg.. in 6 month....
harghhhh.... no life..
but when helping people...take care them ...being nice...and always
smile.... i realize i love my job...
.
umie hanif it'll all be worth it in the end !!!!! Make him regret it
So what. Now you became a nurse and I bet he is behind you and trying to pursue you again.. he is stupid.

The thing is, I worry that I'm one of those people that will fail.. that will be lazy and incompetent.
***** True
***** Ohhh that makes sense.. thank you! :) I'll be sure to remember that :)
***** Oh wow, thats really strict.. damn. Do you have an estimate what percent of people passed the first time in your class? :) thanks
woot!!! thank you I'm uber excited!! I've been a can/pct for about eight years I'm finally taking my old butt back to school. I don't have any kids husband or even a boyfriend so I have absolutely NO EXCUSES!!!! thank you for this great video!!

Got Accepted To Nursing School!!!
Is nursing school just a college that teaches nursing? I'm so fuckin confused.
You usually have to do pre-reqs then you get into nursing school where you learn everything about nursing and if you pass you have to take a test called the nclex (which is like boards) and if you pass that you get your license and then you can work as a RN
pre-reqs? I'm new to this stuff, just planning for future. Please explain :) Also, is a nursing school in a college?

Love the comment. Very true. All about what you put into it. Nicely said.
It's obvious you have no children or the empathy of being a parent. Good for you.

After viewing your videos, I am determined more than ever to pursue this wonderful career again. I appreciate the bible verse you used, "I can do ALL things through Christ, who strengthens me." We need more people like you in this world. God Bless You! :)

***** Sure abdul ;D
THANK YOU. You said it perfectly. About to start my fourth semester of nursing school and I have had to put so many things on the back burner, including my hubby. It's so difficult, but you have reminded me that it will be worth it in the end!
Respect to you brah! Christian and a nurse, hopefully I can be like you in a few years!
You can! Just keep the right mind set while taking the huge step.
Faithie Fraley Yeah UTA is competitive af though since it's the 3rd best nursing program in the country, so I'm trying to see if fitness modeling can take off for me lol
Filipinogenetics ah fitness modeling is very competitive. Lol at least from my experience. I wish you luck either way 😌
Yeah anything worth it is competitive. We'll see where God guides me
I'm pretty sure you'll be fine lol
How’s nursing going today?
Selena
thanks bro, this has really motivated me to keep working hard
Damn that sucks, I want to become a nurse, but I do want to have a social life and friends
How did it go?
Mendoza, you are awesome! I'm in the 7th semester and almost finished. Keep doing what you're doing. It's really appreciated!
Thanks for the heads up on the Potassium protocol; made me look pretty smart in the meeting afterwards last week.
Nice advices... i'm a first year nurse student and ur speech really motivated me :D
Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work
He's right you Will get that Respect! Work hard and continue down that challenging road
I just got accepted to nursing school wow! This was great thank you so much!
Amen brother, I had no life. I am so happy this semesrer is over, and now I am preparing for next sem for labor and delivery.
thank you for psoting this. amazing. i am a nursing student and it feels like im the only one that understands,, . thank you so much for expressing this.
Thank you. You encourage me so much, I am a nursing student and I am more than 50 years old.
Amen!!! That's the verse I live by daily :) Thanks man, you're so inspirational. God Bless you.
I loved how you kept it real! "It will all be worth it in the end!"
Love that verse! Nobody knows nursing school unless you go through it yourself. It's unexplainable:)
Thank you. I have been going to school seems like forever. But I start clinical in January 2016..Thank for sharing this, it encouraged me
thank you so much for this video. I start my first semester next week. I am psyched
This is one of my favorite videos of yours that I've watched so far. You're so motivating and inspirational. I'm so nervous for nursing school but I'm gonna keep up with your channel cuz it really is so helpful. Thank you!
Amen! Love a Man who Loves God and is proud of it!!! #OneLove
Hey dude, really inspiring. I'm in my first semester of nursing school now, and it's going really well. Thanks for posting.
As a single mom I can't put my fam second but I know what you mean. Going for CRNA starting from the beginning and starting pre-reqs for aa degree this summer. Thanks for keeping it real.
Thanks for the advice! I am a nursing student too, I totally get it. Also, btw, you are a beautiful man! I love your positiveness.
I agree, being a nursing student is hard work but i am very excited to begin this rigorous journey :)
Thanks man! I'm about to start my pre reqs next semester! This really motivated me!
It is so worth it when it is all done. Commitment is key to success.
Thank you.
great message about nursing I appreciate it bro I needed that I'm studying for the hesi exam and I'm inquiring about nursing great speech
Word ! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
You are awesome! Thank you for this. I needed to hear everything you just said. Thank you
Hey man I just wanted to say thanks!
Keep it up :-)
I'm not looking to do nursing, I'm actually pursing DPT. This video is very motivational. I'm going to put in the hard work.
Amen! A nurse and a Christian! Glad I found this channel! So helpful! God bless you!
you're an amazingly motivational person, thx& keep posting videos!
I'm 4 weeks into nursing school, I'm so lost.... LOL
Jeremy Jamison Lol! Your not the only one whole feels that way. my classmates & I all felt the same. going into 3rd in a wk
Hey thanks for the reply man! My whole class watches your channel! I'm just starting my second semester and a week into an OB Peds clinical rotation. I'm still feel lost (sometimes) LOL, But damn I'm really starting to love nursing! Keep up the videos!
Yes it is bad and it only gets worse, so being realistic and disciplined is the only way to get through it.
Just depends how bad you want it
Thnx Mendoza, my christian bro from day Bay! 2nd semester nursing student here in day bay. Keep the videos coming.
I believe I'm in love! Grateful for your sarcastic humor when sharing your experience!
Thanx a lot, just got accepted for nursing school, needed to hear this!
Thank you for your honesty and inspirational words. 💪👍
