Really good video. Easy to follow. So.. Start high Lift - 10 o clock, over your hat 1 feet above water Land in the Square 2 to 14 incline - consistent sweep, no dip Forward stroke - release the hounds! Thanks alot. Really, you guys make good videos, good sound quality, picture quality and really good teachers.
Is there a DVD you can buy with Simons casting instructions, would love to buy one with every technique from one handed rods to doubble handed rods.....explains it all so simple and easy......the best "how to" videos on youtube by far
I got some tuition but I’m now starting to think. Does some people use right hand on bottom for casting on side of bank and on other left hand for bottom cork handle
Really good information. He is very dead set on where the anchor should land on all of the casts. For the most part I agree, what you really need to do is understand what the anchor placement does to each cast, becasue not all flows are as perfect as that one is. Lots of 2 handers seek out these even flow perfect swing, easy casting spots. I love them too, but sometimes you need to do a double spay or whatever cast, and you have brush and obstacles, and your trying to hit a small pocket, and you need to be flexible and you need to truly understand your cast.
"Take up golf", you say, Simon. I gave up golf and took up flyfishing because I couldn't get away from 'casting' and hitting from outside to inside. Now, I'm casting from inside to outside with the expected outcomes. Now I feel the need to hit someone. Am I a lost cause?
Every time I go out, the night before, I always watch several of Simon's video's. It gets my blood pumping.
Excellent instruction. Just got a new spey rod (first one) and can't wait to give it a go. Thank you, well done!

A master, if you cannot explain it you don't understand it.
Looks like Idaho Falls
