    Damn Kia! Stepping up your game now, I would buy one

    • @gerardojr.hurtado3179
      @gerardojr.hurtado3179 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Tyler M For now, better buying preowned or used. the depreciation are really huge. you would save alot. but if you have the money, kia and hyundai are one of the best bang for buck cars out there.

    • @underwood9584
      @underwood9584 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gordo Villa Kia is one of the best car these days! But has no market for value in N America. I bought my 2016 Kia Optima fully loaded for 33k which is a great price, after only 4k miles, the value is 19k which is just crazy!

    • @gerardojr.hurtado3179
      @gerardojr.hurtado3179 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Underwood95 Yup, but that is a good thing for smart buyers. KIA and Hyundai are becoming an amazing brand. Till then, buy use. once people catch on then only would it be ok to buy new.

    • @mujjuman
      @mujjuman 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      how are u going to buy used cars if everyone stops buying them new?

    • @gerardojr.hurtado3179
      @gerardojr.hurtado3179 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      mujjuman Because there will always be dumb people, only smart buyers will catch on. Basic economics one o one, as supply decreases, demand (or price) will increase. soon if enough people become smart and buy use, depreciation wont be an issue, and buying new is less of a bad decision to "save money"

    I got a chance to drive a Kia Optima and was really impressed by how it drove, there was decent power but the thing I noticed most was in the shifting, buttery smooth.

    • @EliteMiningSkill

      @thedownshiftchannel 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      chris f it's a shame but unless a brand holds some sort of prestige the depreciation is always n issue! For the secondhand market someone could get a potentially great car for cheap

    • @nfschijioke
      @nfschijioke 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      It is a depreciation monster. I have a 2014 Cadenza. Base model also comes well equipped. bought it used for 22 grand with 17k miles on it. In my opinion, it's well worth the 45 grand, but because it depreciates so quick it just make sense to buy it used/ pre-owned and get an even better value. It's an amazing car and so comfortable, definitely not a sports sedan lmao

    • @nfschijioke
      @nfschijioke 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did cross shop some 3-series but the combo of the rear legroom, cheaper insurance, and lower price pushed me to the Kia. The 5 series was more of competitor too

      Seb A. Well considering a 2 years old mercedes ml 350 blue-tech equipped equally is 48 000$, i would choose the benz over it

    • @mahinahmed2316
      @mahinahmed2316 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Charles-David Bérubé Yeah, that maybe my pick as well...but I think the kia would be the smarter choice..I mean you can really make your pocket empty since as we all know that maintainence cost of German cars are insane

    • @charles-davidberube1174
      @charles-davidberube1174 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mahin Ahmed yeah but a well maintained german car should no cost over 1000$ of maintenance per year. So lets say you keep it 4 years, its a 52 000$. Still less than the 60 000$ price tag of the kia. And considering the ml is only 2-3 years old, you still have a warranty so no extra payments for the first 2 years or so.
      So with the warranty, it would be around 50 000 and 51 000$

    • @charles-davidberube1174
      @charles-davidberube1174 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mahin Ahmed i'm not saying the kia isn't good. But for less, you get the same or more and you have the prestige badge. It's a win win in my opinion.

      Jesse Keller If you told your co workers "I drive a BMW" than "I drive a Kia" the BMW badge shows that you own a more prestigious car. And, if you're a buisness man or entrepreneur, it would give you a better image of pulling up in an S-Class than pulling up in a Kia K900.

    I've got the sister car, a Hyundai Azera. You guys nailed the essence of the car. The more you drive and live with the car the more you realize just how premium feeling car it is (sound isolation, transmission smoothness, stereo sound quality, touch of materials, ride quality, features for money, etc.). They really are the industry's best kept secret. Anyone who wants a Lexus should shop Azera/Cadenza first and save $15k easy. No brainer!

    My wife and I were sitting in the Kia showroom as our daughter and husband were buying their new 2016 Kia Optima. We both kept eyeing this car. I am tall at 6'-4". I sat down in this 2017 Cadenza and couldn't believe the head room I had and the roominess inside. Mind you, we weren't there to buy a car but I looked at the pricing and it looked like this could become a reality. I asked the salesperson helping our kids out to show us one of these with the technology package (next step up from the white showroom one). It was time consuming for him to find this car but they had one and had it in White like we wanted. He finally brings it up, 5 mins of looking this car over and I was sold. This was a first for us anyway. Before this I never even knew about this car. Peter Schreyer I understand is their designer. I have been studying everything I can about this car after our purchase. We bought the next level down from the one in your video with black leather seats. I agree with everything thing you guys said about this car and couldn't be happier with our purchase. We love this car and it's looks! Purchased 1/7/2017

  • @themikester223
    @themikester223 7 ปีที่แล้ว +34

    I don't understand why people buy new cars that are so basic that you can't use the key to unlock the door remotely... why not just buy a car that is 5 years old with the same money and get something way better?

    • @toddf93
      @toddf93 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      themikester223 In my case, I want to be the first owner of the vehicle, know it's complete history amd enjoy a full warranty. In the case of kia they have a 5 year 60k mile bumper to bumper warranty and also a 10 year 100k mile powertrain warranty, but they only honor the powertrain warranty to the 1st owner. Having monthly payments for a car with no warranty is not ideal for many.

      @chelseafc8126 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      themikester223 5 years old? thats a bit old... get a 2 year old current-gen used car.... for example, instead of paying $110k for a new s400, get a 2014 s400 for $65k with about 30k mileage and 5 year unlimited km warranty...
      but when you buy a lexus lets say, it'd be better to have a new one cuz the price doesn't drop much over time...
      Here (saudi arabia) if you want to buy a new Audi A8 from a dealership ur gonna pay about $95k.. or u could just go to Dubai and buy a 2012/13 used one with 35k mileage 5 year warranty for $30k (but u need about $7.5k in ur pocket for fuel, changing plate number from dubai's to saudi one, future repairs, full inspection and all that stuff)... then when you're done owning it for about a year u could sell it for $35-45k xD cuz here cars cost much more than they do in Dubai...
      so anybody who buys new cars is probably considered a newbie lol most (if not all) ppl who know about cars buy used ones

      I have that car, It is fantastic! I was thinking before I bought it, it would not be that good because of the fairly low MSRP of $42,000 But when I took it for a test drive I was pleasantly surprised how nice the interior is and how fast it is for a crossover. This car can easily compete with crossovers that are $10,000 more like the Porsche Macan. The ride is far more sporty than a Q5, GLC 300, or X3. Definitely a car I would recommend.

    A note on fuel economy . . . most of the 2.0 liter twin-turbo engines do well in EPA testing (where it counts on the window sticker), but their real-world fuel efficiency is generally on-par with (or worse than) a slightly larger V6 (which doesn't have to work as hard to produce similar power AND dump fuel into the air-stream to cool the turbos).
    Just one example (out of dozens):. Car and Driver recently reported that the new twin-turbo flat 4-cylinder engines in the Cayman/Boxster provide IDENTICAL every-day fuel economy as the normally aspirated flat 6 in the previous generation. Nowadays, EPA ratings simply can't be trusted and the only way to get a good indication of fuel consumption is to drive the car.

    The negative comments about Kia/Hyundai are hysterical and obviously uninformed. GM has sold crap for many years, Chrysler is the worst, Ford is better than the 2 but the electronics are crap. Then you have Mercedes, BMW and Audi from the Germans. Mercedes reliability is terrible and the cost is outrageous. BMW, buy the extended warranty because that motor might not make 100,000 miles and Audi is the best of these 3 but is expensive. How about the Japanese, Toyota/Lexus. I've owned both and the engines went at 100,000 miles, Nissan/Infiniti you can have them, Honda/Acura, check that 9 speed automatic and the troubles with that. If you haven't driven or owned a RECENT Hyundai or Kia you have no credibility to comment. I own a 2014 Cadenza and it's been way better than my old Lexus which I traded in. No problems, more equipment, less cost to own and more comfortable. I never thought I would own a KIA either but I opened up my mind and made the move to KIA. I'll buy the 2017 Cadenza and enjoy it. I drive the car, I don't drive the logo.

    • @ironvista
      @ironvista 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +smack9x you're a fucking moron. Genesis is completely different than how Lexus is to Toyota (marketing). Here's why, Lexus uses Toyota chassis for their luxury vehicles. Genesis has a whole separate chassis that's not used in any Hyundai vehicles which means they're an actual stand alone brand that happens to be under the Hyundai umbrella. Do some research before you start spewing garbage that makes you look dumb AF.

    • @smack9x
      @smack9x 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ironvista The v6 in the G80 is still used by many other Hyundai and Kia vehicles. This is the same thing that Toyota/Lexus,Nissan/Infiniti, Honda/Acura,Chevy/Cadlilac,VW/Audi, etc does. It's the engineers at Hyundai that create and build the chassis for the Genesis lineup this is common knowledge. Show me proof that Hyundai doesn't make the cars with the Genesis label on them and that they are completely independent. They are simply marketing it under a separate brand/label/name so a dumbass like yourself will think it's made by a separate company.
