I remember this came out in 1988...I was managing a restaurant in Waikiki Beach that played VH-1 in stereo during the afternoon shift....this was played sometimes and it just blew me away......
Joni Mitchell and Peter Gabriel together? Died and gone to heaven, such a gorgeous, lush, rich piece of music at the highest level of talent, from the musicians, the rhythm, the imagery of the lyrics, their vocal interplay, counterbalance, pulling back and forth, this song feels like two energies going back and forth, so magical. Only the best know how to make music like this.
It only took me 28 years to discover this marvelous collaboration of Peter Gabriel and Joni Mitchell. I'm so happy I did. Thank you for posting this excellent song and video. 🎵🎵🎵😊

True treasure of a song!!! One of my favourite duets of all time, too! Could anyone in the know, please take a minute to talk a bit about the video? Where was it filmed? (etc., for example)
+Rodger Rabbit If they play Joni Mitchell at your local stores and hair dressing salons I want to live where you live. I was listening to this track in an operating theatre yesterday. I couldn't get it out of my head and just had to play it.
One of these days, I'm going to listen to every album of Joni Mitchell's, in chronological order. The evolution of her music is simply amazing...
Currently doing this i highly recommend it and listening to reviews to see why each song was written and why! ❤

I have been in a serious relationship with this song for just under 30 years (and three other songs on this album).
Joni's voice drips diamonds all over this, the phrasing, the tone, the intonation...nobody can sing like her
One of her best more modern tunes!!
I've always LOVED this beautiful song. :)

two of the most unlikely people who meet to make a record of such magnitude deserves my utmost respect
So evocative of the West..."so wild and pretty", "trembling mountain trees". A flood of memories.
God! This such an incredible song! The bass guitar harmonics in the verses, from Bassist Larry Klein (Joni's Husband) are heaven-sent.
VH1 used to play this in 1988. Perfection!!
Que dos genios!!!!!
irresistible, somewhat esoteric unique lyrics and underrated melody, still enjoy this nearly 30 years later.
Pezzo fantastico
Wow, I remember this when VH-1 played this back in early 1988. How time fly by.
