He will always remember "building the house"... of course he has been around machines his whole life, but that smile was PRICELESS! GOOD JOB WELKERS! One question... are you going up multiple floors with ICF? Now that would be something. Prayers for your family Scott, you all deserve a safe and solid home, and you appreciate your blessings.
One thing is for sure, you won't be upsetting the neighbours. That guy on the pump,done a really good job, so much easier when you get a driver that knows how to operate his machine. I've worked with some rush and tear idiots, in the Uk, makes for hard work.

I knew a couple who lived in their barn while they built their basement. Then they lived in their basement while they built the house. Took a few years, but was paid for when finished.

Scott, whether you earned it or not(you do), you earned it. You ger up every day, love your wife and kids, your very creative and mechanically gifted, and you work tremendous hours not only for your family, but to help feed the world. Yooa gift from God.
My mom has an exterior lift station because circumstances changed on septic location after plumbing the basement and no sump pump since its a walk out. Brings back memories when i was 16 when nieghbor was building his own house since he was a missionary builder. I helped with basically every stage of the house. After my chores at home were done for the day i would ride my bike over so i could help. I learned a fair amount of stuff that summer. On form setup day he and his son beat me so i didnt do anything but help load up since the dad was having heat exhaustion and needed 2 people to load some heavy items. So perfect timing
Hey Scott.....You've earned it, and you do deserve it. You also have a great bunch of contractors helping you. They're skillful, organized, accurate, and hard working. Sometimes it's hard to find people who function the same way you do. Progress is assured with people like that helping you. May God bless the entire Welker clan !

As a construction worker from Norway, its absolutely crazy to see you guys just walking around with regular clothes, no helmets, no high-visibility clothes and no safety harness to prevent a fall. It looks so easy and fun to work like that.
Or pouring foundations into some crappy shuttering on top of soil. Not using trenches (strip foundations).
It’s awesome that you are both documenting your house builds literally from the ground up, an amazing thing to watch over and over for generations. 👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
You deserve it. Your a good son, brother, father, mechanic, farmer, worker and person. You keep trying your best and remember, you should only compete at being better than one person. Who you were yesterday. I hope you and you family enjoy it.
That is so awesome, my wife and I were blessed to build our house 20 years ago, we lived in a 16x80 mobile home for 9 years before we built which made the blessing that much better, enjoy the process

I’ve laid thousands of ICF forms and to say my anxiety was high while they were pouring would be an understatement! Blowouts are a nightmare to say the least! Looking good!
I have a ICF Basement and love it ! Did it in 2018 , M&K Homes out of Letbridge AB Built my Dream House ! Kodiack concrete out of Brooks Ab did the basement and a perfect job!! 2210 sq/ft house ! move to Brooks in 1 piece!!! and 4 years latter I still love it !! took me 6 months to finish the best basement ever !! 2 more bedrooms with a jack and Jill Bathroom , 30x20 home theater room with 3 65 inch flat screens , killer sounds around !!! wifeys craft room , 1200 gallon water storage room and a 10x 15 cold storage room for canning with it's own a/c duct for summer and an outside air draw and exhaust winter !!!

I worked in construction, I drove ready mix concrete trucks for 12 years, poured a LOT of concrete for footings, walls and flat work. They make it look easy, but there’s a LOT of hard work that goes into that.
Im gonna argue the "deserve it" point Scott. Your paying for it bud. You've put in the time to make this happen. Ya know what that means? You earned it. Take a second and think about that, let it hit ya. Congratulations by the way.

it's a macerator pump, there is a ruberized sheet that you can use as in basement waterproofing, that sticks the blocks together and prevents floating and blow out. we use it on many basements along with a vibrator to get the bubbles out and aid with distribution

So professional! How come in the US you don’t use a poker to vibrate your concrete ever?? That’s incorrect and not in accordance with any concrete specification. Also why do they have trucks the size of a bus and a compaction plate as big as a library book?
@@feelthesteel5173 I've always noticed this as well, anywhere in europe they use a vibrator to get all the air out of the concrete and compact it more, but they never use it the US..

@@paulprigge1209 but you still have to get the air out especially in a structural element which this is and how is the reinforcement tied to the other it’s not the anchor didn’t look long enough to be just popped into the base like that very poor practice
