Banishes his colleagues student to 10 years in literal hell. Shatters the good part of the heart of his student whom he split in half, forcing parts of the heart to find refuge in a little boy, changing that little boys life forever. Binds the soul of the dude he took over to his heartless self, mutilates the soul until it is hideous and staples it's mouth shut so it can't even scream. Uses the power of that soul to destroy SEPARATE UNIVERSES making stars go out. Creates an evil demonic infection that spreads like wildfire in the process. Only is taken down by a small boy who the universe gave one weapon and let him deal with it. Boy loses his love interest, his memories, and has to be reconstructed for 2-3 years. His other self then forms an organization from the split selves of his colleagues and he attempts to destroy the universe AGAIN, which is btw, now one universe thanks to him and him alone. Does several extremely immoral experiments with souls. Creates several beings with no purpose in the process. Kills a dude whose job he took over. And the same boy takes him out again. The universe put that responsibility on him again. Now that both selves have been taken out, he reforms to his true self. His younger self decides to time travel everywhere, gather his former selves, and tries to open Kingdom hearts again. He forces the kid who destroyed him twice to fail his mastery exam. Then he kills the love interest of that kid. NO TABOOS BROKEN. Universe totally okay with that plan. Also Universe: Mad that Sora time traveled twice for a grand total of less than a day in order to save his friends and his love interest. Decides Sora broken the rules and has to cease to exist. The universe of Kingdom hearts is objectively evil.
It's almost as if the writers just give Sora god mode when convenient, then use a technicality when convenient to switch off god mode. I estimate they lose like 10% of their fans every time they pull this stunt, so they've got a fair few left in the bag.
Maybe because xehanort didn't alter fate, he just helped himself to get there, meanwhile sora did alter its fate and reality so that he could have it his way Like you don't see xehanort going back in time over and over so he can kill sora

How the absolute shit is that NOT altering fates?
I'm pretty sure that the next KH will be with Square enix Character so they will remove Disney character so no more Donald and Goofy (it will be cheaper that way)
Ok. So here's what will happen, you heard it here first. Yozora is Sora and Sora is Yozora. Kingdom Hearts is essentially the Gateway between these 2 realities. Through Kingdom Hearts, The Verum Rex or "True King"(dom Hearts) Universe Functions as the source of Light for the Universe we've been in so far (this is why it has a normal Moon, it's look's like that because it is overflooded with Light). We've seen this split Reality Idea in both Dream Drop Distance and 3D (In ToyBox, even though we don't see the parallel). Verum Rex is a darkness Universe. Yozora means Night Sky while Sora means Sky. Yozora is essentially Dark World Sora. The Darkness here comes from the Universe we know so far. This is a part of the Master of Masters Grand Plan. There is/was likely a Xehanort like Character in the Verum Rex Universe whom the Master of Masters also put on his Path, just as with Xehanort. Meanwhile, in his own time (I presume) the Master of Masters trained the Foretellers and sent Luxu off in Order to create the Book of Prophecies, which the MoMs needed to manage the next part. His whole Spiel about it not being possible to change future isn't true and he knows this. He simply tells them it is to keep them under control and make sure they don't deviate from what he needs them to do. This is also demonstrated in KH3 when Sora goes and changes Time. He bred the distrust amoung the 'Foretellers to A get them go through with the Keyblade War and B keep any one of them from trusting any one of each other more then the Master. He ultimately needs these overwhelmingly powerful Lights Users to do what he tells them without question...because he want's to make the Verum Rex Universe fall to the Light, which would obviously be bad for it's inhabitants, but good for those who dwell in the light based Universe if their Kingdom Hearts is stronger. That's why the Foreteller and MoM are the "Bad Guys" in this. The Idea here will be that balance is the right way to go. Kingdom Hearts shouldn't exist (it's not the natural State of things or the X-Blade wouldn't exist). Oh and also, the MoM will probably succeed at his Goals in the short Term. And everyone remembers Sora because he is indeed not gone. He simply exists in their reality as Yozora at the moment.

In the ending, you hear both Sora and Yozora quoting the line from the very first game that was originally only spoken by Sora: "I've been having these weird thoughts lately. Like, is any of this real? Or not?" If you played through the series and paid close attention you will have figured out that this quote is in reference to the dreams Sora was having thanks to Ven's heart being inside of him and thus those thoughts were Ven's memories. In the beginning of the first game you see the hearts of all the princesses of light, before Sora ever meets any of them. It's these types of weird events that Sora was referring to in that monologue. And we all know the reason Ven's heart was inside of Sora was because it needed to be saved or risk fading into oblivion. Sora's heart repaired Ven's, and in return Sora had some of his memories (Ven visited those princesses 10 years prior to the events of Kingdom Hearts, and shortly after visiting them his heart merged with Sora and thus the memories became a part of Sora.) But why is Yozora now saying this? He's saying this because now he's experiencing weird memories he can't explain. But why? It's not explained, but it's very obvious: In the ending of Kingdom Hearts 3 Sora straight up dies. But his heart is saved by Yozora the same way Ven's heart was saved by Sora!!!! so now Yozora is experiencing weird memories thanks to Sora. On top of it it seems that Sora was likely playing in the Reaper's game from The World Ends With You, (The ending to the base game of KH3) made obvious by the way he looks at his hand after what is likely the first scene in which he's finally back alive. And it seems Riku went after him at some point and was likely in the game too.
I love how Mickey gets his second life part to come in and save Sora. Like a nod to when he'd come in for Sora after he'd pass out in KH2 because it would be the other way around. Wish I could have the pleasure of playing this. 🙁
The new batch of the keyblade trio just have to hold on, their "wearing a heavy suit of armor" skill hasnt been taught to them. Since aqua is technically the headmaster, she has to administer the training. Remember eracus taught the three of em how to wear the keyblade power armors. Funny thing is, those armor makes its bearer resistant to darkness unless one allows said darkness in his/her heart voluntarily or by holding such darkness and not being able to control it, such as what happen to terra becoming terranort and orchestrating the whole shebang. Riku could fall but if he got his armor ealier, when he havent mastered his darkness yet we might have a rikunort.
Yozora is a product of Noctis, Riku, and Sora since they all share the same dreams and all have died ever since Sora defied destiny now Sora and Riku have accessed an entirely different realm to meet Yozora (who must be Noctis who has died and now somehow has ties with Sora/Riku). Sora is now the "antagonist" in Yozora's world because Sora can time travel and access diff worlds now (much like Ansem in Destiny Islands)
Seeing as the end of KH3 answered a lot of big mysteries and finished a lot of plot lines, it makes sense for them to leave things open and mysterious for the next entry. Each secret boss is an easter egg for what is to come.

Im very confident he has planed out the lost Master arc for another 3 numberd Titels.When Soras Story is over KH is over.i would say kh 6 or kh 9 is the last game depending on how the lost Master arc pens out and if darkness true Form will be the Main villain of the arc or a final arc after the lost Master arc
Kingdom Hearts was already a giant self promotion for Square and Disney. So the endings always being "by the way we're coming out with another game" makes total sense. But hey, it's not like it hasn't worked.
Let's be real that was only a thing because it was a reference to KH1 when disney had more prominence due to KH just starting out and Disney basically saying "our characters are the important ones". Now that KH can hold itself up, potentially without Disney since they really have no plot relevance (obviously they still need Doland and Goffy, and I guess Mickey too) they're gonna try to ignore it being connected to the main plot as much as they can. Lets also be real, KH1 story was dogshit when the disney characters were involved.
So Sora might be Yozora or Yozora might be Sora . So kh is just a dream of Yozora being Sora but the key of waking Yozora is to defeat Sora. None of this makes any sense to me.....
I think. Sora paid the price of forgetting his connection to everyone. So when he pays that price he gets thrown in a new world Verum Rex.. soras heart/mind is now in yozoras heart/body and Sora is sorta getting the feeling he’s forgetting something that’s why we see him saying I’ve been having these weird thoughts lately... because he’s trapped in Yozoras heart a fictional character well in another game!!! My theory about this one is bear with this is a dumb one, Is like how roxas was made. VS 13 was Yozora's world it was supposed to launch until they remade it into ff15 which is noctis, Yozora was force to slumber and hes saying the things sora was saying in kh 1. So the only way to reawakened Yozora's world was to get the power of waking a power he cannot get. We already know Yozora know Sora but not the face only the name. Yozora was following sora until they confront each other Yozora wins getting the power of waking so thats when he wakes up. Dumb theory ended

You missed the part where Fairy Godmother came in and explained that Riku and Kairi are the key to finding Sora, due to Riku having the dream of Yozora watching him. Explaining that since Riku was Sora's dream eater he could hold the clue. And Kairi's coma state dreaming of the Final World.

I mean there is lot of potential but many of those potential concepts aren't used to create dramatically interesting scenarios. Or that characters rarely are... people of personality. That is what had him removed and Tabata do the cleanup job, which cost him his company. Don't expect this to be on the same scale as the original project since "dark storytelling" for SE relatively light-hearted with anime dialogue still.

Yeah honestly though it really doesn't require an more universe expanding. I could understand adding in New worlds similar to Twilight Town and possibly some FF worlds or more characters. The last thing we need is to make this an Omniverse or Hyperverse. Should just stick with the Disney stories but adding in FF characters here an there. Definitely miss the Sephiroth battle

Very perceptive! I think it would make sense that it's Luxord, seeing as he's one of only two Organization members that we never learned the original identity of. Also, Luxord has time powers, so he could technically exist in this alternate universe. Lastly, Nomura has said that Luxord is his favorite Organization member, so of course, he would want to keep him around.
I like how in the CGI cutscenes Sora and Riku still have their more anime cartoon eyes when they cross into Yozora’s world but Yozora has realistic serious eyes. It makes me want to see Cloud with Sora in these graphics
I always loved the detail of Terra protecting Riku when he gets the chance. This DLC, and really the entire end of the game, was a love letter to the fans who took the time and went through the effort of learning the lore, either through their own gameplay or videos here on youtube.

Holy cow! That fight at the start was just damn enjoyable to WATCH. Seeing how they kind of divide based on attackers and defenders, how they work together as a team! THIS is what games/movies/stories need MORE OF. There's nothing so amazing as people unified as a team, fighting together!

I thought it was Passion/Sanctuary that describe Sora and Riku's reunion? If Simple and Clean was too for their bond, then I guess the same can be applied to Chikai/Don't Think Twice... Not to mention Dearly Beloved is the literal embodiment of their hearts singing in tune. I guess Nomura really doesn't hold back when it came to Sora and Riku's bond huh.
Why did they animate Yozora so damn detailed like you can see all his pores, tiny beard-stubs and tiny marks that could look a bit like acne scars, but they made Sora, the literal main character of the entire series, look like a low-poly, glossy baby doll with skin that has no indication that he's based off a human being? lol
@DY111 It's not even his tone of voice so much as the recording quality. It seriously sounds dodgy. I expect voice acting recording quality like that from indie games (Disco Elysium has a lot of characters voiced on bad hardware/poor recording environments, for example) but from a AAA studio it just seems embarrassing.
For those that are saying it is stupid that Sora breaks a few time traveling rules and get erased fail to understand that light was suppose to die in the battle. From the Book of Prophecies: "The war in that place will lead to the defeat and destruction of the Light The World will be enveloped in eternal Darkness" This right there is the big problem because Xehenort was suppose to win yet someone "cheated". Now this is my speculation: To ensure the fated battle happened as it was foretold Luxu/Xigbar had to see it all happen to the end, but Sora changed this outcome despite all of Luxu's efforts that was influenced onto Xehenort. This is because the "traitor" who changed the outcome was Master Eraqus who was Ava's student all along as her role was to "change the battle" of that fated day just like the Masters of Masters wanted because he wanted someone like Sora to unlock the next part of his plan. Remember Sora was NEVER suppose to wield the keyblade Riku was, so it makes sense why Sora is the one to get erased from the world because he was someone who broke the prophecy as Master Xehenort was just following his path that was influenced on him. If you also believe the theory that Ava is "The Lich" Sora fights to reclaim his friends hearts it does line up with my speculation on why Sora was always doomed to fail yet succeed because no matter what happens he needs to use his strong heart to break the seals for whatever the next "phase" the Master of Masters wants.
I remember watching KHX Back Cover and guessing that the Master of Masters was Xigbar because of the similarities in the voice. Man, how close I was. XD

Man, that beginning fight was just...awesome and over the top. It's not just the fighting that caught my eye, but the dialogue still happening between the party I can't tell whether or not nomura made this intentional... But his staff deserves an extra clap for those unique dialogue added in

Ok. So here's what will happen, you heard it here first.
Yozora is Sora and Sora is Yozora. Kingdom Hearts is essentially the Gateway between these 2 realities. Through Kingdom Hearts, The Verum Rex or "True King"(dom Hearts) Universe Functions as the source of Light for the Universe we've been in so far (this is why it has a normal Moon, it's look's like that because it is overflooded with Light). We've seen this split Reality Idea in both Dream Drop Distance and 3D (In ToyBox, even though we don't see the parallel).
Verum Rex is a darkness Universe. Yozora means Night Sky while Sora means Sky. Yozora is essentially Dark World Sora. The Darkness here comes from the Universe we know so far. This is a part of the Master of Masters Grand Plan. There is/was likely a Xehanort like Character in the Verum Rex Universe whom the Master of Masters also put on his Path, just as with Xehanort. Meanwhile, in his own time (I presume) the Master of Masters trained the Foretellers and sent Luxu off in Order to create the Book of Prophecies, which the MoMs needed to manage the next part. His whole Spiel about it not being possible to change future isn't true and he knows this. He simply tells them it is to keep them under control and make sure they don't deviate from what he needs them to do. This is also demonstrated in KH3 when Sora goes and changes Time. He bred the distrust amoung the 'Foretellers to A get them go through with the Keyblade War and B keep any one of them from trusting any one of each other more then the Master. He ultimately needs these overwhelmingly powerful Lights Users to do what he tells them without question...because he want's to make the Verum Rex Universe fall to the Light, which would obviously be bad for it's inhabitants, but good for those who dwell in the light based Universe if their Kingdom Hearts is stronger.
That's why the Foreteller and MoM are the "Bad Guys" in this.
The Idea here will be that balance is the right way to go. Kingdom Hearts shouldn't exist (it's not the natural State of things or the X-Blade wouldn't exist). Oh and also, the MoM will probably succeed at his Goals in the short Term. And everyone remembers Sora because he is indeed not gone. He simply exists in their reality as Yozora at the moment.

In the ending, you hear both Sora and Yozora quoting the line from the very first game that was originally only spoken by Sora: "I've been having these weird thoughts lately. Like, is any of this real? Or not?"
If you played through the series and paid close attention you will have figured out that this quote is in reference to the dreams Sora was having thanks to Ven's heart being inside of him and thus those thoughts were Ven's memories.
In the beginning of the first game you see the hearts of all the princesses of light, before Sora ever meets any of them. It's these types of weird events that Sora was referring to in that monologue. And we all know the reason Ven's heart was inside of Sora was because it needed to be saved or risk fading into oblivion. Sora's heart repaired Ven's, and in return Sora had some of his memories (Ven visited those princesses 10 years prior to the events of Kingdom Hearts, and shortly after visiting them his heart merged with Sora and thus the memories became a part of Sora.)
But why is Yozora now saying this? He's saying this because now he's experiencing weird memories he can't explain. But why? It's not explained, but it's very obvious: In the ending of Kingdom Hearts 3 Sora straight up dies. But his heart is saved by Yozora the same way Ven's heart was saved by Sora!!!! so now Yozora is experiencing weird memories thanks to Sora.
On top of it it seems that Sora was likely playing in the Reaper's game from The World Ends With You, (The ending to the base game of KH3) made obvious by the way he looks at his hand after what is likely the first scene in which he's finally back alive. And it seems Riku went after him at some point and was likely in the game too.
I like this theory. It could also mean that yozora is the sora of his parallel universe.

The new batch of the keyblade trio just have to hold on, their "wearing a heavy suit of armor" skill hasnt been taught to them. Since aqua is technically the headmaster, she has to administer the training. Remember eracus taught the three of em how to wear the keyblade power armors. Funny thing is, those armor makes its bearer resistant to darkness unless one allows said darkness in his/her heart voluntarily or by holding such darkness and not being able to control it, such as what happen to terra becoming terranort and orchestrating the whole shebang. Riku could fall but if he got his armor ealier, when he havent mastered his darkness yet we might have a rikunort.

My theory about this one is bear with this is a dumb one, Is like how roxas was made. VS 13 was Yozora's world it was supposed to launch until they remade it into ff15 which is noctis, Yozora was force to slumber and hes saying the things sora was saying in kh 1. That is what had him removed and Tabata do the cleanup job, which cost him his company. Don't expect this to be on the same scale as the original project since "dark storytelling" for SE relatively light-hearted with anime dialogue still.

Very perceptive! I think it would make sense that it's Luxord, seeing as he's one of only two Organization members that we never learned the original identity of. Also, Luxord has time powers, so he could technically exist in this alternate universe. Lastly, Nomura has said that Luxord is his favorite Organization member, so of course, he would want to keep him around.

I like how in the CGI cutscenes Sora and Riku still have their more anime cartoon eyes when they cross into Yozora’s world but Yozora has realistic serious eyes. It makes me want to see Cloud with Sora in these graphics

That first fight was amazing I never thought I’d see everyone fight together like that
I always loved the detail of Terra protecting Riku when he gets the chance. This DLC, and really the entire end of the game, was a love letter to the fans who took the time and went through the effort of learning the lore, either through their own gameplay or videos here on youtube.
When mickey was fighting the replicas i teared man.. Been a kingdom heart fan since day 1.. What a journey it has been with mickey in this game.. Thank u for this awesome series..

@DY111 It's not even his tone of voice so much as the recording quality. It seriously sounds dodgy. I expect voice acting recording quality like that from indie games (Disco Elysium has a lot of characters voiced on bad hardware/poor recording environments, for example) but from a AAA studio it just seems embarrassing.

For those that are saying it is stupid that Sora breaks a few time traveling rules and get erased fail to understand that light was suppose to die in the battle.
From the Book of Prophecies:

This right there is the big problem because Xehenort was suppose to win yet someone "cheated".
Now this is my speculation:
To ensure the fated battle happened as it was foretold Luxu/Xigbar had to see it all happen to the end, but Sora changed this outcome despite all of Luxu's efforts that was influenced onto Xehenort. This is because the "traitor" who changed the outcome was Master Eraqus who was Ava's student all along as her role was to "change the battle" of that fated day just like the Masters of Masters wanted because he wanted someone like Sora to unlock the next part of his plan. Remember Sora was NEVER suppose to wield the keyblade Riku was, so it makes sense why Sora is the one to get erased from the world because he was someone who broke the prophecy as Master Xehenort was just following his path that was influenced on him. If you also believe the theory that Ava is "The Lich" Sora fights to reclaim his friends hearts it does line up with my speculation on why Sora was always doomed to fail yet succeed because no matter what happens he needs to use his strong heart to break the seals for whatever the next "phase" the Master of Masters wants.
I remember watching KHX Back Cover and guessing that the Master of Masters was Xigbar because of the similarities in the voice. Man, how close I was. XD
