I’m getting flashbacks to another romantic emperor and I am clapping my hands with childish glee while ignoring this heavy feeling in my stomach. I should be used to this by now, it’s a Hollow video with PLOT. And I do love the plot. Also, loving the Dark Royalty vibe of this whole series. Can’t wait for the next one.

Ok, I may be looking too deeply into this, but I think the thumbnails are trying to tell us something. Specifically the roses. The first rose thumbnail with the emperor was pink. Pink represents sweetness, innocence, health, and romance. Then, we cut to the brother, who had a red rose in the thumbnail. Now, red still represents love and romance, but it also represents war, anger, passion, and in many cases, blood. In this current evil emperor video, he also has a red rose now. I don’t know, but something is definitely going to go down, and it’s not going to be pretty, with us having conversed and even struck a deal with the brother (and if my previous theory is correct, more the monster than man) and our lover now lying to us about the state of his brother? Plus the title, “Wants you to himself” heavily implies a need of jealousy. I know in the video it’s meant to imply that he wants alone time now, even as emperor and empress, but with everything else going on, I can’t help but feel that it’s also hinting at the tragic future yet to come.

Pink rose can be used to show your affection to someone else both in platonic or romantic way. Red rose in the other hand is, like we all know, the perfect symbol of love. Passionate and romantic. Red rose can also be used as burning desire or sensuality. So I think it matched the story quite well.

I’m sort of sad that the videos are now pointing to us losing the evil emperor. Would have loved to stay his other evil half, but oh well. Can’t be a Hollow series without a bit of tragedy.
Why do i feel like soon we’ll have a child, the only one we’ll ever manage to have, and the child will be our pride and joy. However, upon the birth of the child, whom we name James, after his grandfather, we become very ill. We (the listener) become bedridden and without energy, and yet we try our best to be a parent to our child. When we know we are on death’s door, we give our child a necklace, a family heirloom passed down from our grandmother. We then die, causing strain on the relationship between the child and his father. The father becomes distant, and removed. He descends more and more into evil’s depths, until he has forgotten everything he once wanted. All that remains is conquering. He neglects James, and has him tutored and raised as the perfect dark prince. Until James realizes how much is wrong with his world, and leaves home with nothing but our necklace, off to find two unlikely friends, and the trio goes on to defeat James’ father. In his dying moments, he shares this story with James, after having a last minute change of heart, and killing himself instead of James.
Again, our choices in this love triangle are an emperor who wants to slaughter and conquer an entire damn nation as a grand romantic gesture or a prince who has been imprisoned for years and likely gone mad from the isolation. Who the frick am I supposed to support here?! Oh, you brother "passed," did he? Just imagine the Listener struggling to maintain a poker face through that bit. Random aside, but I've been kinda-sorta getting back into D&D recently... and with how much Rapture seems to encourage lies, crushing displays of power, and generally selfish behavior, my brain consistently compares it to drow society (as it's presented in most games), and the fact that he refers to his study/his company as a "web" at one point is not helping.
Why do I feel like we're gonna break this guy's heart? He's obviously lying about some things, but I don't think he's lying about his love for Y/N. I don't like that I can't tell what Y/N is thinking or feeling. Makes me a bit nervous....
