That was very nicely explained, liked how you were calm and clear about it all. I think I'll still take mine to the garage but at least I know its possible now 😃
Hey mate, taking the gearbox out of my van right now to get to the clutch. Your video has been very helpful. Where did you get the single mass flywheel and clutch kit from?
hello mate ,dont know if you will read this but just throwing it out there but im after doing this on my mk7 ,its a 4wd so more fun and games but just to confirm ,you need a different fork and bearing for the solid fw? thanks for the video
Hello matey. The original fork and release bearing should work with the SMF clutch. I replaced mine because It broke when I reassembled everything. Hope that helps.
@@ABIMOTO hiya son! thanks for responding ,just doing some research ,looks like mine has one of those concentric hydraulic bearings ,plus looking at pictures there no aperture for a fork so im guessing no fork and the same bearing as dmf ,thanks again ,all the best my friend
Interesting video my friend now I was removing /changing the cam sensor and the 8mm bolt has somehow fell in the recess of the gear box I haven't tried to start van do you think I have to remove box or can you think of a way to retrieve the bolt it's been a bad day :(
Hello. In short if I was to do it again I'd definitely still go down the SMF route. I tow a lot with my van and have had no issue. In terms of increased noise or vibration I really can't tell. It's not exactly the most refined of vehicles to start with 😂
@@ABIMOTO The release bearing does make a noise and that also dissappears dipping the clutch. That's a squeaky chatter if ya like.... But this new noise really sounds like the fly, but apparently shouldn't 😐 🤔🤣
Great instructional.
I'm hoping to get my grandson to do mine with me supervising .
Loads of great tips .
Cheers for the comments. Hope it helps 👍

Hmmm. You might be able to loosen the gearbox bolts enough to pull the gearbox back 10mm and hope that the bolt drops out.
Hi from down under in Tasmania, after this time what are your thoughts on the SMF and any issues you have had ?
cheers.

Great video how long did it take you
Can you tell us how you regretted going to a SMF.
The DMF is the single most important part of the vehicle with regards to driver comfort.
I have no regrets going to a SMF. I don't notice any increased noise or vibration. If it was a luxury car then yeah I'd definitely keep the DMF
Hi. Why is my SMF hitting the gearbox casing.ta.
The SMF shouldn't be a larger diameter than the DMF so I'd question if you've been supplied with the right part.
I went to single mass a few months ago, and recently developed a chattering that sounds the same as due mass problem... any clue?
Maybe release bearing?. Does the noise stop if you depress the clutch?

How do you bleed it 😎
