- Hello lovelies, I have always been fascinated by Dita Von Tesse and thought it would be fun to research her drugstore beauty favorites.
Von Teese is known for her fascination with 1940s cinema and classic vintage style. This began at a young age and was fostered by her mother, who would buy clothes for her daughter to dress up. Her mother was a fan of old, Golden Age-era Hollywood films, and from her, Von Teese developed a fascination with the actresses of that day, especially Betty Grable.
"I love the drugstore!" Von Teese says, speaking by phone from her home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz. "You never know what you're going to discover there." Her favorite drugstore is the Super Walgreens on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Vine, in the heart of Hollywood."I love the experience of luxury products as much as anyone," she says, "but ultimately, you don't need a lot of money to achieve glamour."

Right!!! Well said!!! I just love her too, I love that her whole look isn't just some gimmick, she literally lives that time period all the way around because she has such genuine love for it, very cool!! Just like you said, she also seems really down to earth!

Instead of pouring the foundation into your hand, put your finger over the opening, blocking it entirely, and upend the bottle so you just get a dot on your finger. Do that as many times as you need to get the amount you need to do your face and whatever else you might be applying foundation to. That's how we did it back before they put pumps on bottles of foundation.

Love love love Dita’s style! It’s so reminiscent of the glory days in the 40’s and 50’s where the makeup and clothes were absolutely impeccable.
I swear by that Sun block. I was on a boat for 8 hours and I was the only person who didn't burn and I'm the lightest in the group.

I love Dita, she once replied back to me on some forum, anyway I always go to Walgreens and I recently purchased a bunch of makeup and skin care products. When I used to dye my hair black, that Garnier Fructis blue black was my favorite! I've been using Coty Airspun for many years, and I love the scent! Ruby for me is my favorite Maybelline lip! I also love that mascara!

I have worn L’Oréal voluminous ever since I started wearing makeup. Probably at least 20 years. I’ve tried so many and I always go right back to that one. I recently tried the new L’Oréal age perfect mascara and I really like it so far.

I love your makeup look on you! If you haven't tried L'Oreal voluminous Lash Paradise (pink metallic tube) you should! It's even more false eyelash-y. It's like an even more amped-up version of the Voluminous! Another wonderful vintage red by Maybelline is the shade Screen in Siren. It stays on longer cuz I think it's more matte but it's not that horrible drying matte like some Mac lipsticks. Funny aside, I was just looking online for a new, pink stove range, and the wonderful Canadian company Northstar used the lovely Dita Von Teese in the photo you featured in your video of her opening up that same stove I'm considering buying! 💕💄💋

I tried the L'Oreal mascara's and I love them.
L’Oréal mascaras are the best. Have you tried the corresponding Lash Paradise primer? I love it! But, I use the Voluminous mascara - I bought a tube of Lash Paradise to try next.

I love Coty Air Spun Loose powder. It's the only loose powder I use. I use aloe as a primer, and my skin just stays matte all day.
I use baby sunscreen on my face, and that also helps my skin. It's the same price as the other brands, you get more for the price because it's a bigger tube.
The Voluminous Carbon Black is even better than the regular Voluminous. But I love the Lash Paradise above all for major lashes!

Greetings from rural eastern NC. Thank you so much for doing a video on Dita. She is one of my favorite celebrities because of her timeless elegance, vintage style and down to earth personality. I bought the red revival lipstick years ago when I read that it is one of her favorites. I was really impressed with the smooth application, gorgeous color and long wear. I purchased a lovely YSL fuchsia lipstick too because Dita wears that one in the warmer months. It is a lovely color but doesn't last as long as the less expensive Maybelline lipstick. Coty Airspun powder, Voluminous Lash mascara and the Loreal Miracle Blur primer have been staples in my cosmetic bag for years. Thanks for the tip on the Rimmel liner, Neutrogena facial sunscreen and Loreal True Match foundation. I will be purchasing them today!

Coty airspun is scented with coty l origan perfume originated in 1905. Bought some vintage on ebay it is luscious! I collect old vintage scents. They leave many modern ones in the dust IMO

I always keep a dry wash cloth or hand towel (paper towel even) when doing my makeup for wiping my fingers or hands.
Loreal True Match is a great budget drugstore makeup foundation. If you are on a budget and want a good quality foundation True Match is it. It comes in a wide range of shades too.

Some of my makeup favorites are from Dita's recommendations like MAC Fluidline gel liner and the Revival Red lipstick that she's talked about for years. I keep meaning to pick up the L'Oreal primer which is another product she's mentioned in many interviews.

The Loreal mascaras are to die for. I love them!! The bedhead Hairspray is one of the best I've used. It's become one of my staples.
Loved this! Laura, I recommend trying Mad Factor mascaras. As far as I'm aware, he invented the mascara format we know and love today, for the movies. My favourite is the False Lash Effect. Xxx

Laura I love your videos! After watching your video on the all time best selling lipsticks I bought 9 new tubes and plan to get a couple more. Because of the money I save sewing my own wardrobe I am rationalizing the big lipstick expense. All the colors are great so far except 1 that's too light for me. :))
