MFG, Like this video. I've fished saltwater in Maine a few times. Was advised to use red eyes on saltwater flies and make a gill or throat of red behind the eyes. I find that any deer tail on the back of the hook tends to wrap or snarl on me. This might be because of my casting style? Now I tie all Clousers with the deer tail on the inside of the hook Crazy Charlie style.
Fully agree that flies should be sparsely tied. I'll use the trick of using white thread colored by magic marker. Thanks

Hi, looks like a great pattern for Stripers. Question, where did you get the Medium Weighted Dumbbell Eyes?

Clouser says never use the figure eight as it’s too weak 🤷♀️ I tend to agree with him as he invented this fly. His video is on TH-cam where you will se that figure eight should not be used. Like the style 👍 will try it out.
Enough glue and I don’t think it matters, but hey to each their own!

Dan Johnson I have switched up to an hmh trv and there are no cons about it! This was a spyder and it was okay, but not rugged enough, I really was pushing it with a 2/0 hook, I would recommend the hmh trv over this any day
