How he died is a shame. "Basho died unexpectedly at the age of 45 due to a freak accident during a visit to his chiropractor, where an "intentional whiplash" experiment caused blood vessels in his neck to rupture, leading to a fatal stroke."

This is probably the most important song I have ever discovered by chance. It had impacted my life is a serious way, yet I can’t really describe how. It’s something I just accept. How beautifully haunting.
I feel this energy, I once had a humming bird land between my feet, tangled in cobwebs and hair. It was dehydrated. Stunned, I picked it up, cleaned it off and observed. It sat in my palm content, I took it to a garden full of flowers and set it among them. What a world to experience
@@blessedgirl9919 I'm very cool with Jesus and God. Been a long road, but I've seen, heard, and experienced a lot. Been to the other side, been visited. I know why I'm here.
What is the creator if not all of creation? If not you and if not me, who could this creator be? This love that you speak of, where else could it be other than right here with you and as you? Behind the stories that you and I use to hide from our Self, this is where we reside. I'll see you when we get there ;)@@blessedgirl9919
@@blessedgirl9919 let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone... you hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye! through jesus all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. he has made everything beautiful in its time. he has also set eternity in the human heart; yet, no one can fathom what god has done from beginning to end. "where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? tell me, if you have understanding." he says. for everything god created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. for he also said to us: the lord works out everything to its proper end- even the wicked for a day of disaster. jesus declared: “go now and leave your life of sin," i recommend you change your heart after jesus' example, and to you i say this: "do not judge, or you too will be judged. for in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." by this measure, you know you worship an icon of god, little baubles and crosses and serve the worldly authority of the church, not god. you do not read the holy book and heed its words. judgement has found you, and... "the lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad." and knowing you, hypocrite, perhaps you will recognize perhaps, thought your kind does not know gods words, only the lies of satan usurping the bible, that almost all of what has been said here by me are GODS WORDS, directly given. jesus said to peter: you do not have in mind the concerns of god, but merely human concerns. i say the same to you, for... our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. you presume to know, you then presume to be authority, but you don't know jesus whatsoever. you are a satanist in churchy clothing... if you love jesus, repent of your wicked ways and spread the love of jesus christ in ways that are effective, not condescension from someone who doesnt even read the bible.

Rachel Fouche Liked your post, the description of how you meandered onto Basho. Do you know Bridget St. John ? She’s a late sixties, (I think 1969 saw her first album) British, folk-influenced singer-songwriter guitarist like Vashti Bunyan who had a similar dreamy, vaguely mystical vibe. But her lyrics are always full of homely details so you’re both, as a listener, left in and taken out of this world.
In the 1960's I listened to Mr. Basho's album Venus in Cancer thousands of times. I still often think about that music. It was unique. It's a surprise to me, to find that others still are interested in him and his music, and I'm happy to find this.

When you find biggest love of your life and you know can't stay together this song reminds the magical "forever" place you create on your head just for you and him..
....the loveliest song and voice i've ever heard ❤️
Can't get over how talented this guy was. An amazing finger picker with such a unique voice.
I can't stop listening to this!
You should hear the "'fire orchestra'' verison, its also amazing
my friend sent me this song to listen to and i just found out recently that he passed away in a car crash
Sorry for your loss :(
Wrong information, that is not how he died
@@onle3807 she meant her friend died that way
This is incredible.
Holy shit. Just discovered this guy. This is the first song I've ever heard by him. The sound provokes fear and beauty. stunning
You all should listen to the new cover version by Fire! Orchestra and Mats Gustafsson from the LP Arrival with the vokal by Sofia Jernberg. Fantastic!!
Never heard of before; kinda stumbled on this one by chance. Intriguing...reminds me of Leo Kottke's early singing on circle 'round the sun.
BEAUTIFUL'.................... PEACE AND LOVE EARTHLINGS 🧡🦋🌻🌈🤸
I like breaking bad A LOT but this is Basho! Lets not cheapen this music by associating it with a TV series, albeit a very good one. This is art...
Just discovered this song and artist - it is just so beautiful
Beyond beautiful. DIVINE!
I could write a million words to describe Robbie Basho but instead i'll just say....
have been listening to a lot of folk music like anne briggs, bert jansch, vashti bunyan lately so i've been meaning to listen to robbie basho as he keeps coming up, go figure i would actually end up listening to him for the first time directly after an antony and the johnsons track and it was a surprisingly appropriate transition?? so glad i am hearing this now

Liked your post, the description of how you meandered onto Basho.
Yes, when I heard this for the first time yesterday I thought of Antony's vocals....
Wow, absolutely gorgeous. Glad I clicked on this.
I love this song.... the Fire! Orchestra cover is the first time I heard it but only today learned of this original. Beautiful ❤
Heard this song in one of the best tarpon fishing videos I've ever watched
That's some damn hip fishing video producers there, man.
lmfao
thank you so much for this video! cant get enough of this song and i cant believe i only just discoverd him now
In the 1960's I listened to Mr. Basho's album Venus in Cancer thousands of times. I still often think about that music. It was unique. It's a surprise to me, to find that others still are interested in him and his music, and I'm happy to find this.
