      Always seems strange to me to see somebody say "fighting is allowed" in the NHL. It's illegal play and has a major penalty associated with it. Play stops because it's illegal play. Just like in the NBA, NFL and MLB, fighting is not allowed by the rules; that's why it's penalized, without exception. Fights happen more frequently in the NHL, but that doesn't make it legal play. But yet people say it's "allowed".

    • @ChrisMcKee087
      @ChrisMcKee087 5 ปีที่แล้ว +245

      Mr. Blutarsky it is allowed. You don't get suspended for fighting in the NHL. If you do that in other sports, there's usually a fine, suspension by the league or the team deals with the issue in-house. A lot of fights happen because a team mate got hit really hard and they are standing up for them.

    • @bbb462cid
      @bbb462cid 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      And yet, fighting is clearly penalized and illegal play and is not allowed by the rules of the sport. You just quote me the stats on how many goals and assists have been awarded during a fight in the NHL. "Usually" something happening in another league- let alone another sport? That means nothing.

    • @taylornox
      @taylornox 5 ปีที่แล้ว +104

      @@bbb462cid Although its not allowed there is a clear leniency - some of the fights that happen in hockey if they happened in football/rugby or most other sports would be career ending and you'd never play again.

We won the game 1-0. At the end of the game the other team came in our locker room and told us how much fun they had playing us and how much they respected us as a team. Despite the fact they lost, they wished us luck in the finals and said they hope we win. This comes to show that hockey is the best sport.
