Do you know if the ignition light and courtesy light are connected? My ignition light doesn’t work, and neither does courtesy. But the map lights work fine Weird
The overhead map lights are separate to the courtesy and ignition barrel lights. The map ones are always live. The other two come on and off with the doors.
@@FordMercGuy cheers! I wonder what is wrong then cuz the door ajar light on the dash works but the 2 bulbs are not working ( fuses and bulbs new ) Do you know of anything to check? I will get a test light and start checking things
Yes get a teslide maybe a multimeter and check the voltages. You may have a wiring issue potentially. In my travels I have realised that the Falcon Dome light and ignition barrel lights constantly live circuit and they are switched on and off with an earth that is switched from the door connection/computer
@@FordMercGuy cheers! Yeah positive is all love and working with test light, wiring is all good, I just did my roof liner, it was never working anyway. Do you know what I can check in door? Sorry and thanks again
Maybe some wires somewhere have been damaged. At the driver's side a pillar I found a harness plug. This had the switched earth that I tapped into for the footwell lights that I was installing. There's a video of that install of mine on this channel. You'll see the A pillar plug. Maybe check see if you have that earth there working as it should
Hi mate,i like all your videos,, do you have any video about how i can replace the ford falcon bf 2007 dashboard lights to led? And what is the best stereo is good?? Please Thanks. Sam
Thanks mate. Already the dash board and speedometer backlights are LED from factory. So if you want to change colour, you need to unsolder the LEDs and re solder the new ones. Big job. Stereo upgrade for these Falcons can be expensive because of adaptors needed. The Falcons have stereo + fan controls all in one. So am expensive adaptor is available that keeps the fan controls going and can accept an aftermarket radio. Sony is a popular brand
Yeah LEDs always look the goods! Unfortunately I haven't, if only it was easier. It has been done, I've seen photos of it done. I wonder if we can use an LED back light window switch and install a wire pin in our original window switch loom and connect it to a headlight illumination source.
@@FordMercGuy The lights are already there (in my car anyway) but they are white which looks wrong with the blue dash illumination, I wanted to install blue LED's, but apparently it's not as easy as just fitting a new T4 or similar. I have a bunch of blue LED's but I can not even get the switch apart as it seems it will break. I might get a sacrificial one from the wreckers and deconstruct it to see how it works. Then try and swap the LED out, if it works I can do the rest or buy some more and keep the originals as spares.
I did this same mod yesterday on my BA XR6 ute and it worked perfectly
Awesome!
Awesomee mate!
Are they interchangeable from different ba bf models
Hi mate, in my experience yes
Well done. This requires ladies fingers😅
Hahah certainly requires dexterity that's for sure! Hahah

Do you know how to do it on a 2012 FG XR6 MK2
Hi mate, haven't got my hands on an fg barrel yet. But I imagine get the surround off and the bulb is removable as these older units
Save the hassle and just buy a T4 led any colour you like for about $2 and it fits straight in.
Very true mate nice and easy and cheap. At the time I didn't have any on hand and made it work with the LEDs I had very happy with the brightness
@@FordMercGuy Yes, makes a huge difference going to LED. Have you worked out a way to do the power window switches?

Incase it helps mate, I do sell units ready converted to the T5 led in the factory bulb holder on eBay. But can do them cheaper privately.
Is this the same process for the fg?
Hi mate I'm not sure as I haven't seen a f g unit up close yet but I would assume that it is very similar if not the same
How do you take off the steering column shroud, I can’t figure it out even after taking out the screws
There's 3 screws and tip half and bottom half separate. I found it helps to drop the heigh adjust lever when removing the bottom half. I hope it helps
Ok thankyou for your help
Let us know how you go!
@@FordMercGuy hey got it in no worries thanks for your help. Looking forward to seeing more falcon related videos
Ah sweet! Thanks mate no dramas. Hahah me too 😜
Have you tried changing the green dash bulbs yet that's what I'd love to try do seems easier to find a XR dash with similar KMs tho haha
Not yet, I've seen some Vids online that the leds lighting up the speedo need soldering. Yeah would be easiest to swap a dash in for sure.
