    Good job! Far easier for you to explain it to my wife than it is for me! I can do it, but for some reason, she gets impatient with me. The only thing I would add is that you should leave the access door open to the water heater so you can check for leaks when filling up the tank if you're not winterizing.

      Thanks. Angela would tell you the same about me. I agree with leaving the door open to check for leaks.

      Could you take it to a trailer shop and have them winterize it for you?

    I appreciate all the tips you offer! on my irrigation system for my Lawn I suck the water out of my system rather than blow it out just a thought!

      That might work. I use the system Casita recommended.

    What about draining the fresh water tank to prevent freezing?

    • @CasitaRvLife
      @CasitaRvLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fresh water tank is inside the trailer under the bench. If the heat is on in the trailer the tank will not freeze.

    Actually pretty simple with the air compressor. What is the psi that you use?? Is this how you winterize it when not in use? What brand is your compressor? TIA - great video! Gives me the confidence to do it myself!

      I use an air compressor I have had in the garage for years. If you have one of the small air compressors that plugs into your car that you fill your tires with it will work great. Just remember to open all the valves in the trailer before you turn it on. This will make sure you don't over pressurize the water lines. Always have at least one water valve open if the compressor is on. This is how I winterize my trailer. It is real simple.

    I am curious as to why you did not put a screen on the smaller vent on the water heater door. It has pretty large holes, too. I like your use of the battery housing door to mount a solar outlet. I plan to do the same.

    • @CasitaRvLife
      @CasitaRvLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not found a screen that will fit over those vent.

    Where did you get that screen to keep the mud dobbers out of your water heater compartment?

      Most RV shops will do it for you but I have no idea what they would charge. Here is a link for the portable air compressor I bought. amzn.to/3mAbdJL I have used it several times and it works good. Just make sure to open at least one faucet before turning the air compressor on. Always have a faucet open anytime the air compressor is on to keep from over pressurizing the lines. I keep the portable air compressor in the Jeep all the time because it is great to put air in the Jeep tires also.

    • @CasitaRvLife
      @CasitaRvLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how much you use the RV. I do water system maintenance every six months. I have only replaced the anode once.

    The only thing missing in this video is where the water comes out of the pipes on the outside of the Casita. Maybe I missed something?

    • @CasitaRvLife
      @CasitaRvLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Casita does not have an outside drain. The air forces all the water out through the faucets.

    • @vespagts7078
      @vespagts7078 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CasitaRvLife The newer Casita's do. The drain pipe is at the rear of the trailer right underneath the water tank.

    • @CasitaRvLife
      @CasitaRvLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vespagts7078 The water tank does have a drain for the fresh water tank but I was talking about the water lines throughout the trailer. Most RV trailers have hot and cold water drains to winterize the system. They are low point in the system to drain all of the water lines to prevent freezing. The Casita does not have low point drains except on the fresh water tank. This requires the water lines to be blown out with air to prevent freezing. Sorry for the confusion.
