We are Greg and Angela from Florida. We share videos of our RV travel locations and the trip getting there. Some of these locations will be major attractions but some will be out of the way places. We also share videos of life traveling in a small fiberglass Casita travel trailer and modifications to the trailer that make traveling life easier for us. We will also provide videos which include maintenance and repairs to our Casita.

We just returned from a trip across the country where we were gone over a month. We stated at name brand campground, State Parks and National Parks. All of these parks have water that is listed as safe and potable. I think you will be surprised when you see what the filter has caught. Looks like you had fantastic weather. Great trip!!
Yes, thanks
Just stunning without any doubt. Cannot wait to get back there again soon. Continued safe travels....
Thanks, you too!
Thanks so much for this video!!
You are so welcome!
get yourself a small trypot before filming
Great vid, is there a good way to tell how much water is in the black/grey tanks or do you just guess at it?
Thanks. I use this to give me an idea how much is in my grey tank. amzn.to/3OobGLJ Here is a link to the video concerning tank sensors. th-cam.com/video/mTKZ94ihzhw/w-d-xo.html
Excellent video! We've been to Yellowstone several times over the years and much like watching the rockets at Cape Canaveral, it never gets old! On our last visit, the crowds were so large and the road traffic so heavy, it ruined our experience. Loved your video. I believe we will go there one more time!
We really enjoyed it but the crowds were very heavy. We did most of our exploring in the early morning and late evening.
We so many stunning federal and state parks in this country. Thanks for sharing your trip.
You are welcome.
Thanks!! Nice video. Curious what time of year was your visit? It looks relatively uncrowded…
It was late August. It was very crowded. We did a lot of exploring in the early morning and late evening. You will see the crowds in Part 7. I was the most crowded National Park I have been to.
I love your videos and so appreciate that you do this. My furnace is making a clinking sound so I wonder if it’s trying to ignite and can’t. It went from working fine to doing this in the night sometime. Brrrr! Any ideas?
If you can hear the furnace clicking it is trying to light. If it never lights it is not getting gas to the burner. If you have propane in your tanks and the valves are open then the internal gas valve is not opening. You need to have the system check by a certified technician.
Any idea is the new Casitas (24) have any better components or would it be wise to upgrade them as well?
The components in the Casita are good components but I upgraded because I wanted more options.
Dumb question - is that winterized after this process?
Yes, Draining the water heater and blowing the water out of the system is the same as winterizing. The only difference is that I put RV antifreeze down the drains to the black and grey tanks.
Some stunning scenery there. thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
I was surprised to see how different the interior of your Casita is to our 2024 model! Our "kitchen" is on the left as you go in, and we have a 2 burner stove, with a folding glass top.
Casita has two models with the kitchen on the left and three models with the kitchen on the right.
Another OUTSTANDING video, with LOTS of useful tips, thanks again!😊
My pleasure!
What causes this to go out? I hardly ever use my water pump, but still it’s not working.
I really have no idea why they go bad. I have talked to people who use their pumps a lot and people who do not use the pump much. Both have had the problem.
Thanks for taking us along.
You are very welcome
Great video. Can you please share how you have the screen mounted in your truck? Wondering how obtrusive it is to your field of view while driving. I have seen the ones that mount to your rear-view mirror, which I guess would be less intrusive. Looking forward to your thoughts!
I have used two different ways to mount the screen. Now I use the suction mount that came with the camera. I like it and it does not interfere with my field of view because I mount it at dash level. They also sell a mount to attach the camera to the rear view mirror. I used it initially but prefer the suction mount.
Great video, Greg! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Another great ideal which I plan on doing to my Casita. I have a sailboat and do DYI canvas work, and buy a lot from Sailrite,. Are those awning already made, or were homebuilt? Is the blue material Sunbrella? The snaps definitely looks a more professional and appealing installation. How do they stow against the Casita while in transit? Thank you.
We made them with material from Sailrite. The material is Sunbrella
Great idea for the Liberty model, I think the Independence model also has the single side bunks. Those tracks you used are tracks designed for rack mounted computers that side out for maintenance. Great use of space.
Thanks
Great video. I'm sure the pressure switch is a less expensive solution than the whole pump. Just bought a 2006 Spirit Deluxe, and took a spare pump of the two, and put it in the Casita so when it does go south, I'll be ready.
Always plan ahead
Excellent review
Thank you kindly
I loved this episode- I grew up in this area and you made me homesick!
Glad you enjoyed it!
excellent stuff. Just curious after many miles now, how you evaluate your Jeep as a tow vehicle. From my perspective I love your tow vehicle/trailer combo, but I am not the driver...continued safe travels...
Been towing with it for years and we love it
Thanks, enjoying traveling along. What was the time frame for this trip.
Started in August and ended in September
Most Casitas have an exterior shower. Don’t forget to blow the water out of theses lines also!!!
Good point
Great video Greg, what month did you go there?
August
Great video! I can hardly wait to visit that area! Thank you
Our pleasure!
Oops!, Disregard I should’ve read more first
no problem
Is it possible to put the inside piece upside down so you could peek out? With the shade with fully extended.
ok
I am trying to add a light above the stove. I removed the stove range hood. Does the rivet gun have to be flush the rivet? The light where you would normally use a screw has a lip, a little less than a quarter of an inch. I can’t get the rivet to expand on the back side due to that lip. Any suggestions?
Yes
Drilling the head off the rivets is very important for one reason. You don't want to drill through the hole again, and oversize the hole, which would require a larger diameter rivet to make a sound installation. Coming from the aircraft industry experience, I apply this rule for every rivet, regardless of the equipment. In the case of an oversize hole in the Casita, it would not only be weak rivet, though the silicone would seal the hole, the strength would not be there. Enjoying your videos.
Thanks
If I was doing this, I think I would check if that new converter is capable of charging any battery other than lead acid, just in case a battery upgrade is on the horizon. Good video
Thanks for the input
Your little glimpses are very nice. So many great spots to take one's trailer it seems. Continued safe travels....
Thanks 👍
I have a 2024 with Anderson no sway and I wasted all day with this install and it just wouldn’t fit properly. The bars just conflicted with the curvature of the casita front
The way I made it work was to partially install the bracket so I could turn the bracket to install the pole. Once the pole was installed I completed the bracket install. The pole fits around the curvature of the trailer and missed the Andersen Hitch bracket.
Very well done review. Many thanks for the big list of links of your upgrades. I used to have a Liberty model but 1987 vintage, and ccurrently in the process of buying a used Spirit Deluxe model, 2006, that's essentially stock. When I lived in Texas, I visitted the Casita Factory in Rice, TX, many times, and was always amased of their production line. As you mentioned, there are other fiberglass trailers that butild similar trailers, but more expensive as you say. think Casitas are less expensive because it seems the trailers are built with the DIY in mind, for custominzation purpose. You just can't please everyone. Thanks for your time.
Good luck on the new Casita
New to RV trailers, just got a Casita. It was about 97 out, high humidity and after about 3 hours of cooling the AC (mach 8) has nice stream of water coming down outside wall. Factory said that was normal, can you confirm? I guess i was expecting a drain tube or something so it didn’t just come flowing down the trailer. Thanks, appreciate the videos
That is normal. Casita does not install a drain tube.
I watched your video and was inspired to buy this camera. However, I am having a heck of a time paring the camera and monitor. I now also now have a red “Err” message on the top of the monitor that I cannot clear, despite turning everything off. Do you have any tips or advice? You seem to be very knowledgeable and I have learned so much from all of your videos. There is very little information or videos I can find on the Haloview web site for the new BT7 solar. The company is located in Hong Kong and am waiting to hear back from an email I sent. Many thanks!
Page 10 and 11 of the manual shows how to pair the camera to the monitor. I use method one. Make sure the camera is on then press the pair button on the side of the monitor. Then press the pair button on the camera. For the Solar camera make sure you are pairing to cam4. The red Err message at the top of the screen means that you do not have a micro SD card installed for recording. If you are not planning to record do not worry about the red Err message. If you are going to record you will need to insert a micro SD card into the monitor and then format it. With a micro Sd card installed and formatted the monitor will automatically record any time the camera is turned on. You will have to manually stop the recording. If you have any other question email me at greg@casitarv.com and I will try and help.
We stopped there on a trip to visit son in Montana. Unfortunately, this was just before we purchased our casita indy. You are right, great museum. 3:28
So cool!
Great video. I got 1 for our casita. I can’t find a place to insert the power adapter in the camera for cloudy days. Any clues ?
Never mind. I found the adapter cord. Now to hook it up. Let ve your vids
Love
Glad you found it.

Nice monitor!
Thanks!
Great tips, how long is the battery last after a usb charging? No solar hooked up.
@@1951Roy it lasted all night and still had battery left.
Thanks for the review. Like you said, it looks like the perfect camera.
@@desertrat250 you are welcome
Thanks for the video! Looks interesting. How long will the battery last without sun between charges?
@@FloridaNativeMike it lasted overnight and still had some battery left.
@@CasitaRvLife oh, so you kept it running at night? I figured if bad weather, you could run it all day while driving on battery then charge via cord at night. Sounds like it will do that.
@@FloridaNativeMike I used it at night to test it.
Love the videos! I'm looking at buying that front rack. How do you take the propane cover off with the rack in place?
We purchased a new tank cover. amzn.to/4eX1HIv This cover screws together. When we need to refill I take the screws out then remove the front of the cover.
Thank you for video!
My pleasure!
looks like your trip is all to a great start. We certainly subscribe to your idea of using the "back roads" when possible. Sometimes the interstate is essential, and some of them are pretty scenic, but we do spend a lot of time on US, State, Provincial and county highways...If one is in a rush, then RV travel is probably not the way to go. Continued safe travels,
I agree
Moved to camp verde earlier this summer from Panama City Florida. The dry/low humidity 100 heat is easy living compared to anything above 80 degrees and humidity in Florida. Lots of outdoors and smaller towns. I like it.
Thanks for sharing!
