The only old song I like is “somewhere over the rainbow” from the wizard of Oz. I’m not saying the others are bad, I like them, but they’re just not my type.
These are bangers, but it is definitely about having an ol' soul. Because (I assume, you older folk) don't and won't see many a "20 year old Gen Z" put this song on his playlist, be humble enough to say he's young, be proud enough to say what his (and my) folk have said (that someone has an old soul) and he perfectly embodies that very thing and you folk are gonna take every bit of that away from him and put it on the song alone? @georelbonai8244 you definitely have an old soul brother and you should not listen to folks who can't appreciate when someone young digs something that they dig. But since this song was put out before they were all born... If they listened to it the first time at 20 or younger then they would have been considered (in that day) an old soul. For those who listened to that track after 20... they're called hypocrites and can't say nuthin. In fact you would have an older soul than they by shear definition. Keep on keepin on, and keep checking out the massive amount of great music like this. Check out the Jive Bombers, Mahalia Jackson, Jackie Wilson, Ruth Brown, Big Mamma Thornton, Bull Moose Jackson, Louis Jordan, Louis Prima and Louis Armstrong.
I like the stuff with ribald lyrics. 'Big long sliding thing' ( trombone ) 'If I can't sell it, I'm sitting on it, cause I sure ain't giving it away ' ( easy chair ) ' I'm selling my pork chops, but I'm giving my gravy away'....... get the idea ? Best of all.... Harry Roy ' My girl's pussy' hilarious !
I think because most people at this point have seen world war 1 and then the great depression. Then a second world war eventually and even further costs for basic living so the music had to be uplifting and happy that's why I love old tunes simple and happy. no bad words either lol
No percussion (no drums or metronome), that's why it feels so non-aggressive. Even modern day classical music features drums. That's why this feels so unique and alien in today's music... in case you were wondering.
it more than likely was awful, still horribly racist and all of the comforts of today subtracted. maybe its best to enjoy the past in the comforts of today's world lol.
racism and domestic violence and great depression and ww2 lol, why do u think older generation are so hard headed, they went through some shit, it was horrible to us but normal to them

im a 13 year old boy from north east england bringing back 1930s i do like the new songs like :fallout boy , eminem but this is good once you lisen to it propely :)
I think I died sometime in this era 😅 because I’ve never listened to this song until today and i new all the words all ready and hit the notes just right
The thing to note when watching old movies like this (in addition to enjoying the music that is) is that almost without exception, everyone you see is now dead. Go on, pick out a face two, wonder how and when the person met his/her end.
even with all the bad stuff that some of the people had to live thru .music always made them feel alive for what ever length of time they listen to the radio, or if they could afford a record, or could sing .. but i am glad to hear some of this classic tunes ..thank you for uploading and creating such a kool video.
I have been listening to oldies songs since I lost my wife 😭 whenever i listen to the songs . Cause it brings back memories of love.. How is your day going over there today??
What a great time to have been alive. The song made me happy, instead of feeling attacked, like today's angry, ugly, brash music. Thank you for posting this wonderful video.

I started doing psychedelics and now this is the kind of music I am interested in. Don't do drugs anyone. You might just have the best time of your life.
I don’t think you would want to be alive during the Great Depression when you had to take turns each day to eat with your family and a small cut could get infected and kill you
I probably have an old soul. I have always liked old music like the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.

It's not about having an old soul these songs are just bangers!
exactly.

Hello Lisa how are you doing?
I like the stuff with ribald lyrics. The reason, why I like these music is because they are so light and calm to hear, than the songs nowadays.

I live and breath vintage fashion! Like I want to be able to travel back in time to actually see how life really was in the 30s

it more than likely was awful, still horribly racist and all of the comforts of today subtracted. maybe its best to enjoy the past in the comforts of today's world lol.

The people seem more real. The songs are genuinely happy. The love seems innocent and wholesome.
ww2 would start in 5 years lol. very wholesome lol.

A great Annette Hanshaw rendition, which goes straight to my "playlist".
Great clips. Love these 20's dance routines.
Thanks for sharing.
To me it sounds like slow woogie-boogie later enriched with blues to make it rock and roll and now modern music.
😋👍
Love this song 🎵🎵🎵🎵 19.2.2024

I am a time traveler who traveled to the 1930s and yes the music does sound like this
This is very down to Earth human music that speaks to the soul.
My truly soul is in this music. I dont know why i cant enjoy the music nowadays.
The song is from 1927…one of the best tunes that year…among many others.
Very talented beautiful girls. Nice hair styles. By the way they danced, loads of charm. How times have changed.
