Is this 3g module? Also how do you connect 12v power supply to that xh2.54 power connector? And I have 12v 3amp adapter. Is it ok to use it for this module?
It is compatible with 2g/3g/4g. This module has a male connector, so connect a female connector with your supply to power up the board. 12V and 3A would be fine for this module.

as per the data sheet of sim800L V2 gsm module it should work on 5 volt directly form arduino.
but i provided power supply 5V to the module it doesn't getting on.
also i try to provide an external 5 v power from a buck converter. still it is not powering on or no any LED lighting on the module.what will be the solution?

Yes you can use the same program. Just confirm the serial pins.
May I ask you a question, I made a project with Arduino uno R3, module sim 800A, controlling a contactor via module role, when power off and on so then arduino doesn't comunicate with Sim800A , I have to reset Arduino then it works . I don't know why, please help me, Thanks
How do you reset, through push button? and Does your Arduino works ok when it is not connected with SIM800. Try to run a simple blink LED program and check if it's working without pressing reset ?

There is no such special sim but you have to check which one works efficiently in your local area

What is the main purpose of this project?
i am getting the output as no carrier for call and error for message i have connected everything properly i have given power supply of gsm 800c to laptop
Check if the antenna is working properly, sim is inserted in a proper way and current requirement of the module is fulfilled
Try powering the module with external power supply that has minimum 1A current.

Mam I'm using Sim800l it is working properly (i.e. it is registering on network) but arduino board can't detect module .

Mam I'm giving power supply to module seperate 5V 1A and connecting txd and rxd pins of module to tx and rx pin of arduino
uno board respectively and also tried 9,10 and 11,12 pins of arduino board.
@@abhijeetkoli983 The recommended voltage range for SIM800L is 3.4 - 4.4 Volts. An external power source like Li-Po battery or DC-DC buck converters rated 3.7V 2A would work. Remember connecting it to 5V pin will likely destroy your module! It doesn’t even run on 3.3 V! Also confirm if the status LED blinks every 3 seconds

@@EngineeringOnline 5 v from external and i check with the blank sketch and write "AT" on serial monitor with baud rate 9600 ... sim900 just send "?????" Looping everytime just send "?????" ...i don't what happen ...ia sim900 broken or Mega ...
+Dadan Gusna Check both of them individually. Run a blink led program to check mega and insert a SIM in the gsm module and then call that number and if you hear the ring back that means your SIM is connected to the network and GSM board is working fine.

Have you double-checked the code? Call function is working properly?

And even I can send sms from my number to GSM module
But if I send message from GSM to mobile it is either showing content not supported or just sending blank message
recheck the sendmessage() function and try to change the mobile set too.

You are incorrect with your Vdd for SIM800. They are nearly all 3.4-4.4Vdc, typically 4Vdc
SIM800A requires 9-12V whereas SIM800L requires 4V dc
If gsm receives sms from registered number Arduino will act other wise Arduino inactive...
(Only house owner can control their home appliance through
GSM)..

@@EngineeringOnline yes its well connected and the gsm module is also working fine as i checked it with at command software but the gsm module was getting heated at baud rate=9000 so i changed it to 115200 and know its not heating but i am not getting any kind of output

Sim 800A and power supply for it is 6v and 1amp
