This was a helpful video, but I have one question...if you dismantled it as far as you did, why didn't you continue and remove the transaxle from the chassis, rather than poking the frame full of access holes?

Nice job. I just did this on 445. All I did was pull the wheel and work through the hole. Also, you can use 3 o-rings.

Joe Scott you are welcome! Is was a little hard to get to until I drilled that 2” hole twice in the frame!!

Thank you for the input on this . I had not use mines this year because of the leak and this will help me out a lot. I have two of them and they both leak. @@JunkyardTailgate

No need to cut your frame. Only thing you need to loosen is that bolt, move lever assembly out of the way. Use 90 degree snap ring pliers, and a small pick just like you did. And reassemble. No cutting required. If you use a 3pt, not the best idea weakening the frame there.

Wow! You sure did let that grass grow, it looks as high as an elephants eye! I would have thought it was corn if you hadn't told us otherwise.

Can I ask where you got your seat suspension at? And can you tell the difference in ride? Thank you!

Wade Schmitt I bought it off EBay. Supposed to be a deluxe seat for a JD 425. I like it better than the original because it has a higher back. Rides comfortable.

@@JunkyardTailgate Thank you for your response! I was more or less wondering about the hardware under the seat... it looks like its a whole new bracket. Does this come with the seat as well?

Wade Schmitt Yes, the bottom seat base with Springs does come with the seat.

I’m sorry, I’ve been looking everywhere and can’t find it. Would you mind sharing the link? You may email me it if you’d like. I want one for my 455! Thank you!

Wade Schmitt you are right, I cannot find the link back. Seatwarehouse has the seats but not the brackets and springs.

Is a 455 Diesel transaxle the same as a 425?

Great work. You should have painted the area that you cut so it does not rust.
