Most railroad bridges are automatic and only go in the down position when a train approaches. They mostly use radio signals from what I recall.

Oh...just read the probability of it being raised but lowered automatically when a train approaches.

So this is a lift bridge not a draw bridge. Same mechanism to life with the weights, just doesn't pivot.

The railroad operates that. Railroad bridges normally are in the up position.
