Definitely, the PH Gilas next generation will be one of the toughest team to play. Filipinos well known in basketball talent & IQ though short in height, but now with the combination of height and speed.

Nice lineup. Raven Cortez is a stretch 4. He can't play in small forward. Carl Tamayo often post than drive so power forward is more suitable for him. You better put Ethan Kirkness - 7'0" ,Jeron Artest - 6'3" and Ron Harper Jr. - 6'7" in the lineup.
Carl Tamayo can play SF as shown in some NU games and in Gilas Cadets. Raven Cortez we feel is agile enough to play SF. What we are suggesting here is a very tall lineup, so we have here players that potentially can slide to "shorter" positions. Jeron Artest and Ron Harper Jr. are not eligible to play as locals, so we rather have Kamaka Hepa or QMB. As for Ethan, he can play as a local but we feel Geo Chiu is ahead of him at this point, while Lantaya may be a better option to develop.
Kung ito talaga ang mga future gilas + a great import, naku sigurado makaksama na naman ang pinas sa fiba world championship.
Joel Sarmiento sure na ang pinas sa fiba world cup sa 2023 kc isa kc ang pinas na mag host .
Pero sana maka balik ulit ang pinas basketball sa olympic ilang dekada ng di nakaka sali pinas sa olympic kung saan pinas lang ang tanging sa asia ang nakakuha ng 5th place

Maganda ang future ni Basketball ng Pinas..basta baga lang pagka handle, malaki tsantsa natin sa mga darating na tournaments... :-)
Hope the BAP or the Team Pilipinas club hire a conditioning coach trainer from the US, on that can employ training regimen that will teach these young talents fundamentals of body conditioning and strength exercises. Train these guys to have strong bodies and powerful upper and especially lower body strength. Increase these guys vertical jumps abilities. They have the good height but I still see weak bodies that will surely be easily defeated by international competitions. Lets get this right Philippines, these kids have a great chance to finally achieve what every Filipinos have been dreaming off since they learned how to shoot leather balls on a hoop.
Piliin ang nararapat!! Sana alisin na ang palakasan system.. piliin angkop sa taas ng larong iyan.. habang nasa training pool turuan ng tamang diskarte yung may taas!! sa basketball iba ang na ang "MATANGKAD".

this is all good, now all we need are very good coaching staff (Jimmy Alapag for coach or Sonny Jaworski is good for team manager), training staff (Benjie Paras, Chito Loyzaga for defense, Alvin Patrimonio for inside the paint offense, Alan Caidic , Atoy Co, Bogs Adornado for perimeter shooting) and scouting staff (Jaworski, Fernandez). I think we need to recruit Miami Heat Erik Spoelstra as over-all consultant

Patangkad ng patangkad ang mga batang Pinoy. Isingit ko na sarili ko-5'4" lang ako pero yung mga anak ko isang 5-'10" (20 yrs. old). at isang 6'1" ( 18 yrs.old).

Bobby Mark Parks... thing is he is around 17 maybe 18 (even if he is just a sophomore). Yes, he is always in consideration. But at this point, we feel it is better to develop 15 year old Lazaro and 15 year old Roberts. Imagine, Sotto, Cortez, Lazaro and Roberts potentially can play in 2018 U18, 2019 U19, 2020 U18 and 2021 U19.

Gilas coach should let Kai shoot 3's to free penetrators to drive inside and create more plays and to develop his confidence shooting 3's... wag laging nasa loob si Kai kasi lagi lang syang aabangan sa loob at masikip ang depensa ng kalaban loob... coaches please let Kai shoot 3's all the time and will create more offensive options pag alanganin ang penetrators then ibabato sa nakaabang na 3's ni Kai or sa iba pang moving na kakampi...

Sana yan ang scoutin ng coach
Ang masasabi ko lang papunta pa lang tayo naka dalawang balik na sila. Sa NBA patangkad ng patangkad ang mga players PG nila ngayon is 6'6 PF nman ay 7'3. Sa next 10yrs di malayong may 7'7 na mga center sa NBA tayo 7'1. Nahuhuli talaga tayo sa lahat. May focus na lang sa billiards O kaya sa ibang larangan. Just saying.
Nauuso rin naman small ball sa NBA. Meron din school of thought na 6'6" long, athletic players in all positions (meaning tall back court, undersized frontline). Of course, meron konti variance. Like PG can be 6'3", then C can be 6'9". Premium is given though to athleticism, rather than height.
When will time come that Philippine team is compose of all Filipinos. And no imports... kelan pa kaya..
why we haven't seen AJ Edu & Kamaka Hepa playing with this Guys whats going on ?

Don't expect Kamaka Hepa to play for the Philippines coz he's one proud Alaskan and he wanted to be the first from his tribe (I forgot the name) to be in NBA. Obviously, he's not interested.
He played here in the NBTC last year, so that is a sign he recognizes his Filipino roots.

Cruz-Dumont is not eligible. He was born here, but both parents were not PH passport holders at the time of his birth. His mother migrated to Canada at an early age. His dad was allowed to play in the MBA when the league's eligibility rules were less stringent (and allowed the likes of Compton and Clay to play despite not having proof of PH citizenship).
At the risk of using too much legalese, Republic Act No. 9225 otherwise known as the Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003 declares that natural-born citizens of the Philippines who become citizens of another country shall be deemed not to have lost their Philippine citizenship.
Section 4. Derivative Citizenship - The unmarried child, whether legitimate, illegitimate or adopted, below eighteen (18) years of age, of those who re-acquire Philippine citizenship upon effectivity of this Act shall be deemed citizenship of the Philippines.
Please check Item No. 3 of this link. The question is if Jack's mother actually applied for retention/reacquisition of her Philippine citizenship.

If she was able to do so after Jack was born, well and good. But there is no indication that she did reclaim her PH citizenship before Jack turned 16 (and that her son acquired a PH passport by that time as well).
The law (sec. 4 of RA 9225) says before 18, not 16. Jack's mom needs to reacquire her Filipino citizenship before Jack turns 18. While doing that, Jack can apply for a Philippine passport, at the same time or shortly thereafter.
Gilas Army Yes, but that will have an impact on Jack's FIBA eligibility. I'm sure you are aware of their "passport- before-16" rule and how it affects those born abroad or those who have parents who are no longer technically citizens of the Philippines. If the intent was there to make Jack eligible to represent the Philippines as a natural-born citizen, his mom should have gone through the reacquisition process right away.
