Moist is amazing. This song was an anthem for me as a young woman in the 90s. Who doesn’t need the hair to stand up on the back of their neck as they hear David Usher’s voice, and the beat of the drums in their own pulse… and feel the sting of the guitars in your ears and eyes. They don’t make rock like this anymore.
I was a teen in the 90s as well and was a huge Moist fan. There has always been something undeniably sexy about David Usher's voice, both with Moist or solo.
Almost 37 years old. And this song not only brings me back, but means more to me know since I understand lyrics a lot better then when was a kid in the 90s
I've been drowned out by the rain Still I'm wishing I could stay But I'm sorry my old friend I've got to leave you once again And despite what I might say I measure pleasure by the pain Measure pleasure by the twisting Of the metal in vein And it might be very hard Can't be more than what we are Can't be more 'til it's over Here comes the resurrection Everybody's got to die from something Nothing ever left to leave you when you go I saw you strip my babies Animal the way you cut them might be Animal the way I cut you from below So you goad me into spite It's the cruelty that you'd like It's the waiting for the one thing That you never could define Fill the longing just because Emasculate the ones you love Have to wait 'til it's over We are the less than mighty Never was a way I thought it could be Never quite enough to leave you when you go I saw you strip my babies Animal the way you cut them might be Animal the way I cut you from below I've been drowned out by the rain Still I'm wishing I could stay But I'm sorry my old friend I've got to leave you once again And despite what I might say I measure pleasure by the pain Measure pleasure by the twisting Of the metal in the vein And it might be very hard Can't be more than what we are Can't be more when it's over Here comes the resurrection Everybody's got to die for something Never thought I'd have to leave you when you go I saw you strip my babies Animal the way you cut them might be Animal the way I cut you from below And if anger is the ending Of the thing that we've become For the mother and the father And the sister and the son Through the shallow without wanting Realization to mistake Through the ugliness The open all the things we can't replace I will control
I heard this song when I was super young. I just found this on the radio working out on site. I'm so glad I was able to find this band now. Proof that music does exist.
2022 AND THIS CANADIAN BAND IS STILL IN MY MUSIC ROTATION 90's FOREVER I WAS BORN IN 89'. YEAH I AM 33 AND STILL CARRY CLASSIC MUSIC WITH ME TILL THIS DAY...IF I'S GOOD IT'S GOOD!!! MOIST FOREVER!!!!
Wow. I haven’t heard this since I was in high school. Having MuchMusic on satellite introduced me to OLP and Moist. Being from New Mexico I never would have heard of these guys.
Still rocking in 2019, I remember when no one knew this song or leave it alone, was a great gem to share woth friends prior to it taking off on much music
At 3:33 lady gaga..!!...love it..love these guys Moist ....listen to it full blast. .!!!!!!!....real kick ass hard rock song..see them all the time when they play MTL..love you 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸great band !!..I want more !!xx
I've always loved the song and video since I experienced them back in the 90's. But I never appreciated, until now, how seamless this video really is, with the seemingly infinite tracking shot, and the perfectly blended cuts.
I fucking loved this album and the first one, to death. I thought they were global superstars cause the songs were so good. Leave it Alone is as good a pop song as anything in the last 50 years
When the universe is directing you....somewhere. Chatting with my teenage daughters had us bring up the Moist...thought of this band I loved as a wee little girl (about 8) so came here to show them. Led me to wonder what David Usher is up to. Led me to see that on this day he comes to mind out of the blue, it's his birthday...
When I hear someone in music industry mentions Usher. David Usher is who I think of. It was confusing for me until i realized they were refering to some rapper/Hip hop guy from the US. Saw Moist live in Montreal, and it was great. So many good songs. I think David Usher has some solo music as well.
I had the biggest crush on Usher when I was like 12 or 13 lol...I remember walking around the dining room table and headbanging to Moist haha, good times.
Seriously , nice song... Brings all the weird from within the man... and the fact that we always ressurect from our mistakes... You guys should read his book.. Called "Let the Elephants Run" this changed a lot of things in my life
I still remember that time when I was 14 in 2000 and I shook David Usher's hand standing in a park made on the remnants of an asbestos factory. It was their final concert, Bayfest. Edit: He gave me a forearm handshake
Hi from the uk!why didn’t this band become massive?answers please!oh big up the Alberta crew, thx Calgary for your warm welcome 🙏🏻 and hospitality in my heart till my last day.
Because no one cares about Canadian music. No, but for real? Moist was pretty big in their heyday here. This single, as well as a couple others off this album plus those from their previous, got a lot of radio play. Unfortunately, the band broke up, and David Usher as a solo career couldn't capture success the same way.
You are right if they had been from America or the uk they would of been a lot bigger, come on though don’t be upset that the world doesn’t take Canada seriously when it comes to music but you gave us one of the best bands in the world yes rush!!!the best live band I’ve ever had the privilege to see and too boot you live in the most beautiful diverse country on earth wide open spaces !peace and stay safe!
@@liveitliveit Sorry for asking, but have this song ever used in any media (commercial or movie)? That's one thing that really bufel me, I definitely heard that song at least several time in my childhood, but i'm not Canadian nether American, this song also was released like 4 years before I was born, I just don't understand how I can know that song
One of their best songs! Watching the video makes me wonder...What happened to the airplane kid? It's 2023 so he's gotta be in his late 30's/early 40s. I wonder if he ever looks at this video and says "Yep, that was me in the Moist video with the airplane!"
They were BIG in Canada, but that's about it. I really don't get why they weren't a bigger act. They sure as hell were a superior Canadian band to me over the likes of The Tragically Hip, Barenaked Ladies and Our Lady Peace.
Canadian Heritage needs to get this video more play.

👍
this song used to get played on 100.3 the bear from edmonton lots
99.3 the fox in Vancouver, they play moist sometimes. They used to be heavily 90s but it's kind of fell off 30 years later.
Lmao! Bruh! Like Canadian hockey players..we actually have a rock history just as strong as our inbred southern cousins!
This just brought back such a flood of teenage memories ...

I’m not a women but you hit the nail on the head
Almost 37 years old. And this song not only brings me back, but means more to me know since I understand lyrics a lot better then when was a kid in the 90s
Miss them old much music days when the music was good
Me too!
I mean, I liked them too, but that's the most old out of touch person comment ever.
@@devinology7 Doesn’t make it any less correct
I agree, they were great years musically.
This Is still one of my favorite songs of all time...... epic
My favourite was always Tangerine.
I'M CANADIAN AND PROUD!!! Moist rules I just the winnipeg radio stations would play Moist most of the time and Matthew Good Band too ,
I've been drowned out by the rain
Still I'm wishing I could stay
But I'm sorry my old friend
I've got to leave you once again
And despite what I might say
I measure pleasure by the pain
Measure pleasure by the twisting
Of the metal in vein
And it might be very hard
Can't be more than what we are
Can't be more 'til it's over
Here comes the resurrection
Everybody's got to die from something
Nothing ever left to leave you when you go
I saw you strip my babies
Animal the way you cut them might be
Animal the way I cut you from below
So you goad me into spite
It's the cruelty that you'd like
It's the waiting for the one thing
That you never could define
Fill the longing just because
Emasculate the ones you love
Have to wait 'til it's over
We are the less than mighty
Never was a way I thought it could be
Never quite enough to leave you when you go
I saw you strip my babies
Animal the way you cut them might be
Animal the way I cut you from below
I've been drowned out by the rain
Still I'm wishing I could stay
But I'm sorry my old friend
I've got to leave you once again
And despite what I might say
I measure pleasure by the pain
Measure pleasure by the twisting
Of the metal in the vein
And it might be very hard
Can't be more than what we are
Can't be more when it's over
Here comes the resurrection
Everybody's got to die for something
Never thought I'd have to leave you when you go
I saw you strip my babies
Animal the way you cut them might be
Animal the way I cut you from below
And if anger is the ending
Of the thing that we've become
For the mother and the father
And the sister and the son
Through the shallow without wanting
Realization to mistake
Through the ugliness
The open all the things we can't replace
I will control
Thx for writing the lyrics for us all, respect stay safe. Hi from the uk!
Thanks.....exactly what I needed. Just remembered this song!
Animal?
I saw them in concert when I was 18 in Toronto So good!

Much music
Thank you for the musical memories guys, you rocked in the 90's and still do today.
Saw this, for the first time, at school in Mr C's room. At break and lunch his classroom was tuned into MM. This song spoke to me.

January 2021, I'm listening 💪 love this song since I was 15
This video makes me miss the 90's and makes me happy that I'm in the here and now.
Bought this cd and our lady peace clumsy at the same time. The 90’s hit different.
Normally, when I look up a song on youtube, I memorize a few lyrics and google them... good luck here! Took me a while to find it!

Good book
I love that book so much. I also found it genuinely life-changing, and I don't say that lightly.
still listening in sept 2021, tune rocks.
The good old days when much music would still play music videos now its all reality tv
"Reality" am I right?
Carlos Rodrigues not all reality tv they still have music for an hour 12:00 till 1:00
Haha Remember all the Different "Much" Channels. Back when music was on what was Much Music. lol
JUST FRIGGEN AMAZING
January 2021 I'm listening. One of the songs that helped me survive
Came of age in the 90's in Canada. Moist's Resurrection is like Tea Party's Psychopomp - masterpieces with so much emotion.
