Huge fan from 12 years old.
Heard them on the radio (Fool For The City) in 1975 and was captivated.
Finally saw these guys right around this time in a club in SLC.
They were just everything that I thought Foghat should be.
The original lineup was tight, energetic, and performed with a love for playing their high amped boogie rock!
I have always admired these guys and always will.
Thank you Dave and Rod see you in the next life.

Lonesome Dave. Shred god. They were so good. You can teach just about anyone, how to read music. You can't teach soul. You can't teach feel. Can't teach attitude. It comes from within. If it didn't, every band would sound the same. Its what makes them so special. 👍

I have been a fan since my older brother first bought Night Shift in the 70s. Foghat is one of the few of my favourite bands I never saw live. Would have been easier if I lived in good ol USA. However, to see and really experience Foghat, Lonesome Dave had to be in the mix. Charlie Huhn I was never a big fan of, but the latest incarnation with Scott Holt is imho rather sad and actually is devaluing the legacy of a once truly mighty force. Yes, I would still go and see the current lineup if given the chance, but as I say, Foghat, like so many other bands in the 70s, had to be seen and heard in the 70s. The 80s onwards damaged a lot of once great bands

@@groovedohg There was another iteration of Foghat playing at the time I saw Lonesome Dave's version - and i have to agree - the Dave version was FAR BETTER! I remember at the time not understanding why there were multiple Foghats
I am curious about seeing the current lineup

    • @groovedohg
      @groovedohg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@johnpinna Yes. My last upload of a month ago was Roger Earls Foghat from 1993. Its just not the same, but again, so many fans will be curious and end up going. I was a huge STatus Quo fan in the 70s. I saw them as a teenager in 1976. They were my ultimate band. I saw them again in the 80s and 90s, but it was a shadow of the once great band. The classic original lineup reformed for what was known as the Frantic four tour. They actually played in my city (Dublin) which was their last ever gig. I couldnt force myself to go, as it is just not the same. The bass player, Alan Lancaster, who actually sang really well, was rooted to the spot as he had a crippling disease (MS I believe) and he died a few years ago from it. The Rolling STones will no doubt tour again due to their new al bum, but I feel sorry for the people who fork out 100s of dollars to get a ticket just to tell their grandchildren I saw the Stones. At least people like Robert Plant are being real and not acting like they are still 20 years old.

@John-ls2gp Yeah. Had a quick look at the Wolfgang video (around 15 min). Shame the current Foghat lineup is so boring. The lead singer/guitarist is defo the wrong choice. He has no presence whatsoever and his singing is just so average. I used to think Charlie Huhn wasn't the right replacement for Lonesome Dave, but later found him to doing Justice. Have you heard the brand new Foghat album??? Bland as.

@groovedohg Fraudulent is how I would describe any version of Foghat that doesn't have Lonesome Dave! I can't listen, never have and never will. How's that for being closed minded? With Rods departure the band took a nosedive. Even so "Live Now Pay Later" might be my all time favorite.

Thanks for posting this!! I’m from the Capitol Region but sadly missed this concert and I have seen quite a few. I did get the video of this tour show “Two Centuries of Boogie” back in 2002 when I was living in NH and didn’t even know that I was living within a few miles of Rod Price until I moved back to the Capitol Region in and read of his death in Wilton, NH. I had been living just up the road in Lyndeborough, NH for a few years and I wished I could have caught a few of his shows featuring his new solo albums. Maybe could have met him also if I had known at the time. RIP Rod Price. Loved your music!

Hey, i remember seeing the concert in october 2022, and it was different because in the video is shown how the band is preparing to start the concert and in Drivin Wheel is a little bit more of the intro recorded in the front row and that video doesn't had Louisiana Blues. But thanks for uploading the concert with Louisiana Blues, greetings and good luck

Nice how Louisiana Blues and It Hurts Me Too remained in the set from Savoy Brown days - they were both on the 1969 LP Blue Matter.

Wow. I had to check Google to confirm that. I have been a fan of Foghat since the mid 70s and never realised that. I always thought he was an imported Yank like the drummer in Supertramp. I even met Rod in an English pub in the late 80s. I will have to delete the Nationality bit. Thanks for the heads up.

@@bluebird925 Deleted American. I also just found out this week that Foghat have a new Pre-order DVD (Released April I think) called Slow Ride LIve in Texas 1999. Looks like itis virtually the same track listing as Millineum Tour DVD which was also live from Texas (Houston). I dont understand why they have to wait this long to release the DVD and also why there is no more added information to put die hard fans at ease that this is not just another re-pressing of Millineum Tour etc.
