HonorYourOath Civil Rights Investigations why don’t you “go fund yourself”? Why do you need money from others? If you were a credible journalist working for a self-sustaining news outlet, you wouldn’t have to ask people for money.
Let’s face it, you weren’t “getting photos for a news story”, you were doing something questionable/suspicious that you knew would be reported to the police, which would in turn, serve your real purpose of baiting the responding officer(s) into the usual “am I being detained” and 1st amendment rhetoric.

They actually know the law (ordinances).
Truth of the matter is they're counting on most of us not to. That's what generates revenue. If they can get away with it, they will. The fines they collect goes into the general fund. Meaning we will never see that money again. Well, we'll see it again, but we'll see it benifit them, not us.Yet, when we sue them for rights violations, the money comes from tax payers. It's a sham. A one way street. This needs to be changed. I think people like Jeff making this video are the beginning steps of that chsnge.

How you're gonna educate all the cops in USA? One by one? They NEED TO LEARN a lot of things about civil rights but not in this manner.
Addressing someone in high command of Police department who's job is to train police officers is the right way. They learn about civil right maybe 1-2% of all time while being training for cops. It should be at least 20%.
This way cops will find a way to retaliate you. YEARS LATER fr/auditors do this, making conflict just for money, big money. Harassing, stressing, abusing regular citizens untill cops show up and then conflict starts so their views, youtube revenue, donations, tips etc. It become highly paid "activity".

Well sure I realize there hasn't actually been any terrorist attacks or shootings related in any way to people with cameras but still...in this day and age...it's likely going to be some cops getting shot when attempting to violate someone's rights and you camera people are to blame.

Cops are allowed to investigate suspicious activity, it's in their job description. In an investigation, people being investigated must identify themselves, the fifth amendment does not apply to identifying oneself. And just saying one's first name is not identifying oneself.

In my opinion, he caused more harm than good. And that is unfortunate.

-always have the Smith V. Cumming, Terry V. Ohio, and state ID laws handy along with your I and your D
-unless it's on purpose to avoid jail without literally handing over your ID, please don't be a "big dummy" who has your car nearby lol.
-please post links to PD's facebook, at least file complaints, and update us.
