He was a genius and a wonderful human being… Glad to have met him several times in Nürtingen. So sad he passed away much too soon 😢 - a loss for mankind!
His understanding of the guitar and the ability to create his own tone at different times through the composition is impeccable this man truly was a guitar genius.
Amazing version! After hearing of his passing, I feel even more fortunate to have heard him in concert. It was a long time ago, and his program was mostly Villa-Lobos. He also played 'Round Midnight and tuned the low E string to an Eb. Anyway, it just goes to show that you have to get out and see the masters play while you can. R.I.P.
I've learnt the new today... Roland Dyens was one of the guys who make me love guitar. I saw him in concert once. His style, his music, his charism were unique...
I happened to get to know Roland Dyens' work some weeks ago, via the very fine Roxane Elfaski, and soon later via Stephanie Jones, both on yt. This is him again. Thx, Roland! You have given us the best!

I know you won't ever stop making music wherever you are.
He has a great feeling of guitar. I was amazed by his performance of this piece of Django Reinhardt music. Cause even Django played music that he wrote with band and this man Roland Dyens did this by himself. Great arrengement.
It seems we have an experienced music critic out there. Let's take advantage of his vast knowledge and call him early on the morning to come our homes for tuning our guitars for us. Thank you, classicalRob1 for your disinterested enlightenment. Indeed I find your mindset a little bit unfair, if not childish. But who cares it's all about shariing thoughts.
Merveilleux artiste. Une perte qui ne sera compensée que par les innombrables disciples qu'il a formés, avec son exigence implacable et son talent, si manifeste dans cet hommage sublime.
Hello Everyone Christopher Rodrigues Performed with the same introduction Roland Dyens Arrangement of Nuages by Django Reinhardt Thank you very much Roland Dyens for wonderful arrangement!!
Doesn't sound improvised doesn't have to be, very articulate and musical with the players character shining through. Refreshingly different - one hell of a player IMHO and could improvise probably over anything and everything. Cheers for the vid
Un des rares guitaristes qui sait bien jouer du Reinhardt. Je n'aime pas trop cette musique jouée par les spécialistes du genre. Quand on écoute du Reinhardt même les craquements du disques sont agréables, il y avait un son chaud.
+Brian Griffin its kindof re-arrangement, he usually plays its pretty much like this everytime (roland), django played around more, but this is still my favorite nuages version
It's ok if you don't like this but you have to know that it means a) you are in the wrong place and b) music is not for you, Find some other art, maybe painting is your thing but music definitely isn't.
Fuck you, Khasab. I've heard this piece of music played by a lot of people and this one sucks shit. The piece should flow, like a mountain stream. It shouldn't be jerked to and fro like a fitful child. The harmonic notes are crap that is thrown on the side, like an afterthought or spasmodic interruption. Who made you the authority of music, anyway?
What is Roland's obsession with harmonics which he puts into every song? He's also the twitchiest player ever like he snaps his head as if he has a tic.

I just now from you got to know he passed, I was sure he's still alive, several years back I watched his recent at the time videos... It's a pity
His understanding of the guitar and the ability to create his own tone at different times through the composition is impeccable this man truly was a guitar genius.
Unbelievable playing of this beautiful tune, i'm sure Django will be smiling.

Gone too soon. Rest in Peace M. Dyens, you brought joy to a lot of people.

excellent...compelling, unusual, individual style, and most of all quite beautiful...
Il oved a beautiful approach to the beautiful Nuages

Great maestro Roland dyens
La classe, la maîtrise. la sensibilité . Quoi dire d'autre. C'est magnifique.

This Is art,right🎉
classicalRob1, I just spent 10 seconds on your page, and I couldn't take it anymore. Sorry.
Omg that was terrible, he doesn't even have a sense of dynamics. It's like listening to a child his 1st year.
🙏
👍 👍👍❤️💓

Merecia ficar mais um pouco entre nós
I'll have one order of Django with a side of Joe Pass, please.
Is this completely composed or is it improvisation? I know that Django improvised mostly... right?
+Brian Griffin its kindof re-arrangement, he usually plays its pretty much like this everytime (roland), django played around more, but this is still my favorite nuages version
mr dyens always played his arrangements.
there is not a single note improvised.
Wuahaha kewreen

Скажите, это вариации или так играл Рейнхард?
Думаю что вариации.
