Deano these Iceland burgers have been around for years my friend the only thing different here is that they put them in batter. I was eating these burgers In 1989.
It is amazing how many foods can be battered in the UK these days,I’m from the ‘50s when it was only cod,hake,plaice,roe,and a few places battered potato slices in the Midlands.Now there is so much battered food just in the F&C shops,battered pizza in Scotland??

Tried them a few weeks ago, thought they were excellent. Extra slice of cheese, buttered bun with ketchup and a bit of onion, fabulous! Don't bother with the Lidl American stuff, very uninspiring!
Scottish chippies already does those, in fact one of themost popular suppers here is a hamburger chip roll which is a battered burger and chips all crammed into a roll with chippy sauce
It's cheap because it's muck. Rapeseed oil in the ingredients, Rapeseed and palm oil very bad for the body. Cheap burger, crap food. Maybe a month or two on fresh salad could be beneficial.😮
Iceland have brought out a Creamy Chicken and Mushroom with rice meal in their £1 range. Be interested to know what you think. As for the Burger. it's not really my thing. Much prefer fresh burgers. 4 quarter pounders from Aldi for £2.49

Why don't you test a tin of mushy peas. They might be 'illuminous', as you once stated. You could try a tin of 'low and slow' beans also.
