There is a big secret area in Tokyo! The big round sign on the left of the map is held up by two cables. If you grind over them the sign will fall backwards, opening the path to a secret area that is perfect for this series.
7:47 the Cyberpunk genre is largely inspired by 1980s Japan. By the 1980s, Japan had some of the most advanced tech in the entire world. Many predicted that Japan would become a third superpower after the USA and USSR. Then the 90s bubble burst and Japan's economy hasn't recovered ever since.
I just realized something weird as I'm watching this particular THPS videos. I've only played even number Tony Hawk games: THPS2, THPS4, and THUG2. I have no clue why that happened or why I'm even commenting about it. I just found it odd, and perhaps in the spirit of these videos because of that.
I'm not sure. I first thought it was a solitaire game, but it could be a dir command. Plus there's some weird text below it, barely visible. Can't make out what it says :P
Man this reminded me of elementary school. I played on n64 and then got a ps1 then a ps2. Man the soundtracks were the main thing that made these games so awesome. Oh yeah, I love you bromango.
8:54 The yellow sign with the cow has かう ぴす written on it, phonetically “kau pisu”, perhaps an ad for cow piss Obviously the actual Japanese words for those are different, but this perhaps references the Japanese drink カルピス (Calpis), a kind of milky yogurt like drink In that sense it may not be a joke, but the spacing between the “かう” and “ぴす” on the sign makes me think it could be
3:49 how'd you get freecam? an actual level exploring video (for THPS2 and 3) would be cool with freecam, showing all the unreachable, out of bound areas, as opposed to the normal areas we've all already played through
It was so much fun seeing you examine this game, thank you for another awesome video! ^^ I have a lot of nostalgia for it, especially the Foundry map, it was fun to revisit it in this video!
Yesss! I've been so excited for your next video on this series. Been playing these games since I was just 5 years old. I can't wait to see if you do the rest of the games in the series as well
Foundry was a fun multiplayer level.. it was a big loop to keep a combo going, so youd often grind head on and it was stupid but a cool dinamic you had to pay attention to
Will you eventually check out the levels as they appear in the PS1 version? There are some differences between versions (and that park with the balls in Los Angeles is meant to be Pershing Square).

I love the aspect ratio of this video
Finally something that fits my ancient 1280 x 1024 monitor again😀
I love you
These Tony Hawk Pro Skater detail-noticing vids give me life.

Yes, a new Thps video!!!
The LA stage looks a lot like Pershing Square in L.A......and the random trash fire is pretty much the best analogy for L.A.
3:58 looks like the output of a DIR command on an old computer

2:22 unlocking the room was the goal!
No mention of the weirdness of Suburbia's haunted house??
Right that shit scared me back then
It might just appear in the next tour 🤫

I loved it back in the day, but to be honest, I don't remember much of the world. I'll probably have a video on it someday though.
